Singles Match

The standard wrestling match (or 'Singles Match') involves two wrestlers attempting to win the match through either pinfall or submission while not getting disqualified, or "counted out"—caught outside of the ring for a referee's count of 10.

DING DING DING

Both men stand on their respective corners as the bell ring three times. They begin to circle each other, Storey has a big chuckle on his face – as he has officially returned and he finally gets to put his hands on the douchebag that took away his IC title only 3 years ago and Storey has never been able to beat him. Instantly, both men lock up in a battle of strength before trying to force each other into their respective corners. Razor manages to get a quick move-on as he shoves the returning Storey into the ropes. However, using the momentum of the ropes, Mark manages to roll Xtreme all the way around and shove him into the turnbuckle, managing to use the springboard of the ropes to his strength advantage. He shoves Razor back against the turnbuckle as referee Jack Hammer instantly tries to pry the two apart. The self-proclaimed “Natural” smiles as he manages to get the upper hand on his old rival. Although neither of these men is very well liked with the audience, they will easily support Storey over Razor, as they hate Razor way more. Storey backs off and lets the number one contender to the world title walk his way forward. Both men are in the middle of the ring once again, but this time Razor is angry as he shoves Mark Storey back with both palms, making a slapping noise as Storey is shoved back. “The Destined Deity” responds by quickly charging at Razor Xtreme. Razor planned for him to lose his cool and was ready for it, as he takes advantage of an irate Storey by wrapping his right around the neck and flinging him over for a headlock takeover.

Miles: “There you see the brilliance that is Razor Xtreme! I don’t know which one of these two to support, so I’m just gonna go with my main man RX!”

Cedar: “Why? Cause he’ll yell at you on Twitter if you don’t?”

Storey instantly raises his leg and wraps it around the neck of Razor, locking him in a scissors-lock, but Razor quickly kips out of. Both men charge right back up to their feet, not wanting to waste a single second. They both look eye to eye once again, as the crowd is forced to clap for both of these men. Whether or not they like them, this has been brewing for years now. The cheering is kinda counterproductive, as it’s wasted when both men lock up quickly for the third time. This time, it’s Storey who manages to wring the neck of Razor Xtreme with his arm in a headlock, but before he can do much with it, the Rated Y2X Superstar charges Mark Storey back into the ropes and shoves him at full speed, sending him across the ring. Storey charges back and smashes Razor’s left shoulder with his own right, dropping Xtreme to the floor. Mark smiles down at Razor – who is now the irate one. Storey runs to the ropes to the right of Razor, but before he can bounce all the way back to Xtreme, Razor is already up and jumps over Mark. As Storey bounces back, Razor capitalizes with a huge back-kick right to the gut, making a sick slapping sound – and stopping Mark Storey in his tracks! As “The Idol” bends over, Razor bounces to the ropes in front of Storey, looking for some move, but Storey quickly uses his instinct to leap into the air and drive both of his soles into Razor’s chin with a beautiful Dropkick! Razor hits the mat as Storey goes for a quick pin.

- Razor kicks out right before the 2!

Miles: “God damn, and now Storey has the upper hand!”

Cedar: “I think this match is going to go very back and forth, as neither man wants to be one-upped here!”

Storey turns Razor onto his belly quickly and then presses his arm around the neck before kicking his foot up and scissoring him into a beautiful Izanagi – or as most would call it, the Koji Clutch! He begins to wrench back towards his leg, pulling the air out of Razor slowly. Normally, this would be an excellent submission maneuver and would arguably put away a lot of people. However, Storey forgot that this is a move that Razor also uses a lot as a signature, and thus knows the weaknesses of it. Razor has an open arm and begins to quickly drill his elbow downwards, clashing into the cranium of his attacker. Storey almost instantly releases the submission, not wanting to keep the elbows to his head coming for too long. Unfortunately, that seems to be his only option, as even though he releases the submission, Razor quickly sits him up on his ass and works his way behind him, grabbing his right (and dominant) arm with his own right while pulling his left arm over his head and driving repeated elbows back, very stiffly, to the forehead of Mark Storey. One, two, three, four, five, before Hammer realizes he needs to pull him off. He begins to yell at Razor, who instantly lets go before deciding to argue with Hammer for a bit. He then remembers he still has an opponent, and his opponent is grounded, so Razor goes for the quick pin.

“1!”

“2!”

-Storey isn’t dead yet, and he kicks out almost as soon as the ref hits 2.

Razor begins to slowly get Mark Storey up to his feet, looking to capitalize on his attack…

Storey is completely out of and is unable to fight back after those brutal elbow shots to the head. Razor picks his dazed opponent up and quickly raises him onto his shoulders. Storey quickly fires back with hard elbows, trying to get some leverage to escape the Razor's Edge! Quickly, Jack Hammer is forced to turn his back as Eric Goodman is trying to enter the ring! Hammer scolds Goodman on the apron as Goodman pretends he has done no wrong. While Hammer is distracted, Storey manages to escape sudden death as he jumps off the shoulders of Razor Xtreme. It may have been a mistake, however, as he is instantly speared halfway to hell by 'The Titan' Maddox Paine! Storey is completely ko'ed as Razor just laughs. Goodman jumps off the apron and Maddox rolls out of the ring. Razor wants to make a statement, though. He picks Storey up off the ground by the hair and then raises him onto his shoulders quickly before throwing him overhead and driving a knee to his skull, hitting the Razor's Edge! He quickly goes for the pin!
