Chinese business platform, Financing City Network, are set to bankroll a remake of “Tekken”, according to Variety.

Made in 2009, and based on the video game of the same name, “Tekken” told of a futuristic society where gladiatorial combat has replaced warfare and ruthless fighters pit themselves against one another in a bid for global supremacy. John Foo, Gary Daniels, Kelly Overton, Cary Tagawa, and Ian Anthony Dale starred. A sequel followed.

Steven Paul, producer of “Tekken” and “Tekken : Kazurya’s Revenge”, which he also wrote, is back in a producing capacity.
