Winner advances in the Intercontinental Championship Tournament
The standard wrestling match (or 'Singles Match') involves two wrestlers attempting to win the match through either pinfall or submission while not getting disqualified, or "counted out"—caught outside of the ring for a referee's count of 10.

| Ding Ding Ding
As the bell rings Hall of Famer The Xtreme Icon and the The Kotzebue Kid are standing in opposite corners of the ring.
Cedar: Here we go, opening round match up in the IC Title Tournament.
Michaels: Icon looking to regain the title, he held 5 years ago. Kotzebue Kid looking to gain his first title.
Both men walk towards each other and meet in the middle of the ring. The lock up collar and elbow style. Icon quickly throws a stiff knee into his foes midsection. As the Kotzebue Kid doubles over. Icon swings his right knee into the face of his opponent. As Kid stumbles backwards into the ropes, Icon charges forward and hits a brutal clothesline. Sending Kotzebue over the ropes and onto the floor. Icon turns his head to the side and smirks.
Michaels: What’s that lunatic thinking now?
Cedar: You think he is going to get some frequent flier miles?
Icon runs back towards the ropes on the other side of the ring, rebounds off, and as he reaches the ropes. He leaps over the top rope, with a giant flip dive, crashing onto his opponent, back first. As Icon makes contact, fans pop huge for Icon taking to the air.
Cedar: Icon clears the top rope easily
Michaels: He makes it look so damn easy.
Icon rolls to his stomach and gets up to his feet. He grabs Kid by the head and pulls him up to a standing basis. He then attempts to Irish whip hi foe into the steel steps but gets reversed and Icon slams shoulder first into the heavy metal steps. The Kotzebue Kid quickly grabs Icon by the head and rolls him into the ring. Icon rolls towards the center of the ring, Kid climbs up to the top turnbuckle and steadies himself. As Icon starts to push himself up to his feet. Kid jumps off the top rope and stretches his right arm and slams it into Icons face, knocking him to the mat. Quickly he goes for the cover, not even getting a one count.
Michaels: Smart move, keep Icon in the ring, he wil not hesitate to use everything around him as a weapon.
Cedar: Remember what is on the line, a shot at the Intercontinental title. Icon will go to great lengths to get that title and regain the success he had a few years ago.
Icon rolls away but Kotzebue stays on him and locks in an armbar while Icon is on his stomach. Icon is too close to the ropes however because he gets his foot on the ropes and the ref calls for the break. Kotzebue lets go and backs off. Icon starts to get up to one knee as Kid walsk over to him. Icon throws a hard shot to the gut, doubling his foe over. Icon locks in a front face lock, then hoists Kid up into the air. He holds him for a few seconds as he steps to the center of the ring before falling backwards finishing the suplex. Icon sits up or a brief second before getting back up to his feet. Kid rolls onto his stomach, as Icon steps over to him. He pulls him up to his feet then irish whips him into the ropes on the other side of the ring. When Kid comes back towards Icon, he gets picked up into the air and counters a back body drop attempt with a DDT. Driving Icons head into the mat, laying him out.
Michaels: Beautiful counter!
Cedar: What a DDT! Icon got spiked!
Icon lays flat on his back as Kotzebue does as well. Only briefly though, as Kid gets to his feet and grabs Icons legs, but gets shoved off. He hits his back as Icon kips up to his feet. Icon steps in and throws a brutal elbow to the jaw. Kid stumbles back a few steps and Icon charges in. Kid ducks under and runs to the opposite side of the ring. Icon hops out to the apron and as Kid runs back. Icon springs up to the top rope then launches off and tucks his legs in flips backwards and as Kid reaches him. Icon thrust his feet out into the face of his foe. With an audible smack.
Michaels: Jesus! What a shot! I think Kotzebue might have a few teeth knocked out.
Cedar: Icon has hit that Shooting Star Dropkick for years, I can’t recall a time he caught a guy in the mouth running towards him.
Icon quickly goes for a cover, gets a two count before Kid gets his shoulder up. Icon backs up to the corner, and squats down. He yells at Kid to get up. Slowly he does, as Kid stand up. Icon charges forward for a spear, but Kid leaps over him. Icon manages to stop himself in the corner. He turns around and eats a superkick, Icon stumbles back into the corner, bounces out and steps forward a few steps before falling on his face. Kotzebue takes advantage of this and locks in a texas cloverleaf.
Cedar: Texas Cloverleaf!
Michaels: You mean Kotzebue Cloverleaf, it’s a brutal hold either way.
Cedar: This will tear your back, your knees right up.
Icon screams in paid as Kid cranks on the hold, Icon starst to crawl his way to the nearest ropes. Inch by inch, he pulls himself and his foe, with a death grip on the submission. Finally het grabs the bottom rope, as soon as he does, the ref calls for a break. Kid immediately breaks the hold, showing a bit of visible frustration. He thought he could get Icon to tap out, underestimating the guts of the man who has been in some of the most brutal wars in XWA.
As Kotzebue walks away, shocked Icon didn't tap out. Icon slowly pulls himself up to his feet using the ropes. As he gets to a standing basis, Kid turns around. In desperation, he charges forward. Icon suddenly leaps forward, cocking his fist back, then he throws a vicious right hook clobbering Kid in the jaw, knocking him out. Icon quickly covers him hooking both legs, getting the three count.
Cedar: Straight Outta the 406! That quick! That sudden!
Michaels: I don't quite get why he named it after one of the most famous Gangster Rap songs ever made, considering he brags about being a country boy, but no denying the effectiveness.
Icon stands up as his music plays the ref holds his hand in the air to a cheering arena. The show then fades to black, and commercial.
