M1 | Matthew Bradley vs. Bob Savage Empty

Vendetta is back from the commercial break following the opening segment, featuring the controversial bipolar-like Minkaro as the World Heavyweight Champion has set the tone for tonight's show. The neon red lights; from the rafters hover over the psyched spectating fans and from the stage they shine subtly. It's time for the first match of the night, featuring Vendetta's newest addition to the roster.

The sudden crash of cymbals and powerful riff of an electric guitar echoes through the arena. Fans do not initially react as the unfamiliar song continues, with fans captivated in the moment of anticipation. With tension arising in the first twelve seconds of the entrance music, finally drums beat faster as "Sleep" by No Fair Fights blares through the P/A system with XWA's newest Superstar emerging from backstage onto center stage. Before everyone stands Matthew Bradley; short dirty blonde hair, widened glaring brown eyes of intensity, a razor-sharp chiselled jaw structure and a tanned body with veins bulging over his muscles. From the get-go, everybody takes notice of the sturdily-built débutante as he storms down onto the ramp, with a spring in his step whilst he eyes an XWA ring for the first time.

.: Laura Watts :.
"Ladies and gentlemen, this contest is scheduled for one fall! On this way to the ring; residing in Chicago, Illnois, weighing in at 288lbs... Matthew Bradley!"

.:Joey Miles:.
"Holy shit, he's jacked."

Joey Miles' four words could not be more apt, describing the newcomer Bradley's superhuman physique with each ab' looking like a plate of stone. It's not absurd to suggest that Michael is 'jacked' as MB strides down the ramp, looking like a man possessed as he stares into the ring at his prey.

.: Laura Watts :.
"And in the ring, weighing in at 225 pounds... Bob Savage!"

That brings us to the second man in this match, Savage. Shorter and scrawnier, the 'jobber's' build hardly credits him with any realistic chance of engaging in combat with this 'humanoid' heading in his direction. Uncharacteristically, Savage meekly stands in the far-left corner of the ring, almost accepting defeat in this match-up as the speedy march of Bradley's strikes fear into his heart.

.:Joey Miles:.
"Bob better fucking run, it looks like he's about to be somebody's dinner for tonight!"

.:Ted Cedar:.
"That somebody is Matthew Bradley. I don't know much about this guy, though it's rumoured that he has some form of Mixed Martial Arts background and an appetite to compete."

.:Joey Miles:.
"So he picks Bob Savage of all people on the fucking roster?"

Though obscene, Joey's words once again ring some credibility. Matthew's opponent tonight is clearly at a disadvantage, but he rushes to the ring as if he was making his way to claiming a prize, although it seems the victor of this match has been predetermined. Bradley's hunger has invigorated him and he darts from the ramp and slides under the bottom rope, thus into the ring. Bradley rushes at his prone adversary, pouncing with a flurry of 'clubby' forearms into the back of Bradley's!

.:Joey Miles:.
"Hahahaha, look at him fucking go!"

DING DING DING

Bradley's stalking eyes were enough to provoke a frantic Savage, as the latter attempts to target his foe's upper-spine. Fans have picked their favourite as they spur on Bob with ironic cheers of sarcasm. Though Savage has the higher ground, his blows haven't stiffened the posture of Matthew Bradley's once, with the bigger man rising to a vertical base as Bob backs up to his feet. Both men are up and it's Bradley who strikes first, as he dashes with his arm raised for a Clothesline but the suspecting Savage ducks the attack! Momentum should send Matthew Bradley to the opposite ropes but the newbie is able to stop in his tracks, draping his bulky arm around Bob's neck before kneeling and dropping Savage's back onto his own! The inverted Backbreaker sees Bob screaming out in agony, with a smirk emerging on Matthew's face. Joey flops on the mat, arching his back following being whiplashed from an elevated height, but his merciless adversary MB allows no recuperation time as he goes on the offensive and begins stomping on the spine of Bob's.

.:Ted Cedar:.
"Look at Bradley go, stomping away on Bob Savage! That backbreaker has completely turned momentum in the newcomer's favour!"

Savage uses his experience in beatdown situations as he rolls towards the eastern side of the ring, cradling the bottom rope for sanctuary! Matthew follows his foe but referee Ryu Sanu makes his presence known, as he blocks MB from continuing his onslaught. Bradley gives the official a 'scornful' glare, feeling as if Sanu had robbed him of a victory already. Ryu is slightly startled by the looks of dissent, though he does his job and ushers Bradley closer to the center of the ring, with Bob Savage clutching to the ropes for leverage as he stands up. As soon as Bob rises, gutsiness spurs the smaller man to approach MB, though a deadly forearm strike to the head sends the latter stumbling back into the ropes, though Savage ricochets off of the ropes, only to be greeted by another stiff forearm of Matthew's, this time sending him to the mat.

.:Joey Miles:.
"Why the fuck is Bob even bothering?"

.:Ted Cedar:.
"You have to give Savage credit for trying to hold his own against this impressive Matthew Bradley."

The atmosphere is an uncomfortable one as fans don't know whether to cheer or jeer Bradley, his attitude has been one of a competitor's. The newbie hasn't one pandered or slandered the crowd, focusing only on his adversary and that continues, as Matthew digs his hands into Savage's cornrows and pulls the latter up to his feet. Matthew slaps Bob in the face, with the clapping sound alerting the fans as they "Oooh." The slap awakens the dazed Savage too, as his eyes too widen. The offended Savage retaliates with an enraged right hand though a fresher - and more agile - Matthew Bradley ducks, before MB pivots around Bob and scoops him back from the waist with a German Suplex. Fans cringe as Savage plummets awkwardly onto his upper-spine, but with Bradley's arms still gripped around Bob's waist, it doesn't stop there. Bradley rolls backwards with his foe bridged and plants him with another ruthless German Suplex, with Savage just splatting head-first onto the canvas. Bob clutches his aching skull following an explosive landing but also to shield himself, as Matthew Bradley repeatedly drills closed fists into the latter's skull. Sanu - the referee - intervenes, cautioning Bradley about a disqualification if he doesn't stop the onslaught.

.:Ted Cedar:.
"Look at the intensity in the eyes of Bradley's! He is decimating Savage with strikes and throws!"

.:Joey Miles:.
"Can't tell if fucking badass or not, he's against Bob fucking Savage."

Bradley ceases fire for now, respecting the rules as he backs up from his adversary, not taking his eyes off Bob Savage once. Savage is going to use every second that he spends prone on the mat to his advantage, trying to recover from the series of brutal moves. MB allows Bob to stand, though the latter's rise to his feet is certainly prolonged - but who could blame him? He's been thrown around like a ragdoll, beaten senselessly and shown complete disrespect by the opposition. Bob gets up, battered and probably bruised, but he looks up at his opponent who immediately greets him with a kick to the abdomen. Savage doubles over in discomfort as Matthew Bradley places his head between his legs, before MB clutches the former's waist and hoists him onto his broad shouders! A groggy Savage is suspended within mid-air, and he doesn't even attempt struggling as Matthew Bradley has the smaller man elevated, showing MB's superiority at this moment. The height of Bradley's makes the sight even more impressive as he walks around the ring, but what goes up must come down, and Bob Savage just happens to come crashing down onto the top turnbuckle of the north-east corner! The crowd groan as Bob wails once more, arching his back in anguish as he leans into the corner, though Bradley wastes no time following the Turnbuckle Powerbomb as he dashes towards the western ropes.

.:Joey Miles:.
"Holy shit, that must've killed! Shit, how is that cunt Savage still breathing?"

.:Ted Cedar:.
"Savage has taken many beatings before, but nothing like this within such a short space of time! How is he still standing indeed?"

The commentator's surprise is not a sentiment shared by Bradley, with Matthew bursting towards Savage and tearing his opponent in half with a velocious Spear in the corner! At WWE Summerslam 2003, Triple H was 'Speared' by Bill Goldberg into the Elimination Chamber's glass pod; Bob Savage isn't as fortunate as he is slouched against the turnbuckles with Bradley pressed against him. The excruciating pain in Savage's back lingers, especially since he hasn't had any chance to lie down since the latest combination of attacks targeting his spine. Bob has always been disliked and ridiculed for his overconfidence, but even the audience present tonight can't help but pity him. There is an eerie tension in the crowd, as they look on in concern - as much as interest - to see what Matthew Bradley does next. MB backtracks as he moves away from his 'victim' - who is relieved at last - as Savage no longer has the burden of Bradley's bodyweight, and doubles over into a 'bowing' position. Referee Sanu pleads with Matthew to keep his adversary out of the corner, with the referee's request mercifully buying Savage some time to slump on the canvas.

.:Ted Cedar:.
"How is this not over yet!? Savage has been to Hell and back in this match."

.:Joey Miles:.
"It seems like Matthew isn't going to stop until the fucking cockroach is squashed."

.:Ted Cedar:.
"I think Matthew Bradley has squashed Bob Savage enough, don't you?"

.:Joey Miles:.
"Alright, exterminated then. You know what the fuck I mean."

Matthew heads backwards his opponent, as he clutches his arms around the torso over the doubled Savage and uses his power to lift 'dead bodyweight' with relative ease. Bradley's strength sees him raise his cradled adversary closer to his feet, and perhaps the newcomer's patience is wearing thin in this beatdown. As soon as Bob is up, he immediately begins declining to his knees though an insistent MB propels Savage back up to a vertical base. Matthew smiles at his lifeless foe before another loud slap that would leave a bitter taste in Bob's mouth, if he were still senseless. This slap - which leaves Savage - still stirring is not met with a reply this time. Matthew grabs both wrists of the decimated Savage and drags him into the center of the ring, before moving himself under the arm of the unsuspecting Savage. Once again, Bob is hoisted by the waist and rested on the shoulder of MB's in a Back Suplex predicament. A confident Bradley walks southwards towards the ropes, before releasing Savage over his shoulder and catches his flipping foe face-first with a Cutter!

.:Joey Miles:.
"Have a good fucking night Bobby! That's it! It's over!"

Fans wince and murmur as their blood goes cold, watching an 'exterminated' Savage thud onto the canvas with maximum impact. "The MB - Seal of Approval" as Matthew Bradley labels it, earmarked as the move that finishes this match off, and it may well be as the newcomer hooks the legs of his fallen opponent. "ONE. TWO. THREE."

DING DING DING

.:Ted Cedar:.
"And Bradley picks up the victory, in impressive fashion to say the least!"

.:Joey Miles:.
"It's Bob fucking Savage."

.: Laura Watts :.
"Here is your winner, Matthew Bradley!"

The stony look in Bradley's eyes begin to fade, as he rises to his feet with the diminutive referee raising his arm in victory. He effortlessly dismantled the opposition, and is reaping the rewards now as he stands triumphant in the ring with HIS entrance music playing. Bradley turns eastwards to request a microphone from the timekeeper's corner, with the referee shepherding Bob Savage out of the ring, as he rolls the loser out of the ring before following. Matthew gets the microphone and his music dies out, as he begins to speak...

.:Matthew Bradley:.
"And that... THAT is how Matthew Bradley deals with business."

There are quite a few boos spreading across the arena as Bradley's boastful tone confirms what many could've guessed by now, MB is not in XWA to make friendships or be loved. And the negative responses from the crowd only encourages Matthew to continue, as he resumes speaking.

.:Matthew Bradley:.
"You know, nearly seven years now, I've watched people come and go. I've watched the originals, I've watched the ones that have won championship gold and dissolved under the pressure and expectations, I've watched WOMEN win championship gold."

Matthew's misogynistic comment causes quite a stir in the audience, with the jeering only getting louder as Bradley is clearly defecating on the history of XWA's; referring to when Ashley Sky was a World Champion.

.:Matthew Bradley:.
"Nearly seven years, and what has XWA got to show for it? We have guys that wouldn't have touched the surface of the mid-card four years ago, NO we have guys that DIDN'T touch the surface of the mid-card four years ago, and now they're being celebrated for their loyalty. Later tonight, we have Xtreme Icon, a decorated veteran of this company, fighting against a man who definitely matches him in terms of ability... Joey JOBBERTON."

The disrespect is riling up a raucous audience, Matthew laughs as his remarks about the scene of XWA amuses him.

.:Matthew Bradley:.
"So here's the deal. I'm bored of old-timers getting loyalty points, I'm bored of watching XWA and seeing insignificant people come-and-go, achieving a damn sight more than they should. I want to achieve. And why shouldn't I? Matthew Bradley is stronger."

Raucous jeering continues to fill the arena with fans offended by MB's arrogance. If anyone was in awe of this powerhouse earlier tonight, that notion has been overshadowed by his overconfident persona. Every word he utters now will be met under scrutiny, and it's up to Bradley to back up his claims. But he resumes speaking in the meantime..

.:Matthew Bradley:.
"Matthew Bradley is stronger. Matthew Bradley is smarter. Matthew Bradley is far more deserving than anybody in XWA, and that is pure FACT. I've seen guys win titles on their debuts, but what do I get? I have to open the show, with Randy Savage's adopted son from Sierra Leone. I hope the GM, the owner, whoever's in charge of this asylum... I hope they take note of what I did tonight, because I will do it again and again, until I'm somebody. I will do it to champions to be the champion. My name's Matthew Bradley and THIS, is not how a future champion should debut.

Fade to commercial as Matthew glares into the screen, having made a very bold statement which sets the tone for what should be a controversial career.
