MATCH 6 | C5 Ion vs. Johnny Devine 2qlbqth

C5 Ion vs. Johnny Devine

Joey Miles:
"Welcome back to XWA Vendetta! This show has been outstanding so far. Match after match, promo after promo, we are going all out tonight!"

Ted Cedar:
I couldn't agree more, Joey! There's going to be matches all over the place! Huge names are here!

Joey Miles:
I know of one particular match that looks incredible on paper already, Ted.

Ted Cedar:
Oh yeah, what's that?

Joey Miles:
The one you won't be commentating in because you'll be too busy getting your ass kicked by
Johnny Devine after this upcoming match, ha!

Ted Cedar:
We'll see about that, Joey!

DING! DING! DING!

Ion enters the ring and the bell rings as the men circle each other in the middle of the ring. Devine quickly goes after Ion with a double legged take down and hits his head a few times to mess him up. However, Ion makes it right back up to his feet only for the men to stare at eachother again. Devine takes Ion down again and slaps him silly, again, only for Ion to stand back up shortly after. Then, Devine charges into Ion and takes him down immediately and Ion gets back up and then Devine takes Ion down once again. Ion starts to push his hair back and then he stomps his foot in frustration becau he keeps getting taken down. Devine looks as if he wants to set up his Ankle Lock but Ion makes it to the ropes first before Devine can grab him once again. Devine goes after Ion again but Ion counters back with head scissors, sending Devine across the ring and the
crowd goes nuts. Devine then charges after Ion’s left leg, but Ion kicks him away and quickly stands up with a kip-up. The man stare eachother down and then Devine charges at Ion and then sends Ion into the corner but as he’s ready to charge into him with his right shoulder, Ion moves out of the way and sends Devine shoulder first into the turnbuckle. Ion climbs the ropes and punches Devine in the head until Devine grabs Ion from underneath his legs and slams him into the mat with a crazy flat out powerbomb. Devine looks at Ion with an frustrated look and grabs Ion's neck without caring and goes for the Devine DDT, but Ion counters with an arm drag and sends Devine out of the ring. Ion quickly take himself to the apron and goes for a Rolling Senton from the apron, but Ion moves out of the way and Ion crashes to the outside mat. After about 15 seconds. Ion starts to pulls himself up using the apron , whole he's holding his back with one hand. Both men get back in the ring and stare at each other, toe to toe with both men standing straight up, and eye to eye. Devine takes the first move and takes control of the match now and even gets Ion in a submissive move. Ion is holding his arm as he is in an arm bar from Devine. Ion sees this and fights out of the hold by rolling onto the mat and then swiftly bouncing up with a kip-up and swings Devine's arm around with an arm bar of his own, but Devine takes Ion out with a knee to the abdomen. Ion is bent over holding his abdomen and Devine lands a german suplex and goes for a pin attempt with a bridge.

ONE
TW-KICKOUT

Once again, Devine in frustrartio quickly rolls over onto Ion and goes for a submissive move against Ion in the middle of the ring. Again, Ion fights through with some nice kicks to Devine followed by a drop kick to Devine’s face showing that his defenseless guard was down. Devine pulls himself by the ropes and Ion walks over towards him and suddenly, Devine grabs a hold of Ion on top of his shoulder, but Ion reverses him into a azx drilling him face first into the mat, changingn. the point of view of this match. Both men looks at eachother as their stand up and Ion rushes towards Devine and lands a few kicks to Devine as well as a flawless tilt-o-whirl headscissors! Ion goes for a cover.

ONE
TWO-KICKOUT

Ion quickly slides out if the way of the angry Devine and Ion slides into the corner of the ring. Devine is still on the ground and he pukes his head up with a sadistic look on his face and he then charges at Ion with an linebacker charge and Ion ducks Devine and lands a drop toehold on Devine, as Devine’s head hits a corner turn buckle. Ion then kicks Devine and connects nicely with the back of Devine’s head! Devine lands outside of the ring, and where Ion goes for a baseball slide from the inside of the ring, but Devine catches Ion's legs and drags Ion, but Ion turns his defense into offense and turns it into a headscissors, sending Devine flying into the crowd barrier. Ion sends Devine into the ring and climbs on the top rope for a flying rolling senton to the midsection and hooks both legs as he raises his body up in a bridge and its a pin attempt.

ONE
TW-KICKOUT

Devine raises his body off the ground holding Ion's midsection in the bridge still and Devine rotates his body and lands a german
suplex. Ion holds his head in pain as he basically ladned on his head off the german suplex and gets up but right before he could stand fully up, Devine lands a mean clothesline and signals that he’s ready to take Ion out. Devine looks at Ion and waits for Ion to make his move. Devine stands there as Ion goes for a clothesline and Devine ducks and waits for Ion to swing around and Devine kicks Ion in the midsection with great force that Ion was signaling that he might end the match. With that kick, Devine takes his time and executes without hesitation, and hits the Devine DDT and quickly goes to pin Ion.

Joey Miles:
The Devine DDT connecting! Ion's head was directly planted into the mat.

Ted Cedar:
This was definitely a tough move by Devine, but credit to him for being a professional through
and through in a match that shouldn’t have happened.

Joey Miles:
Oh come on, not you too Ted! This match had every right to go on!

THR-ION'S FOOT IS ON THE BOTTOM ROPE

Joey Miles:
Ion's foot was on the bottom rope, so that will break the count!

Devine goes for the Devine DDT again, but in the middle of the ring instead. However, Ion counters by swinging around and putting and sends Devine flying onto the second rope, bouncing off the ropes, not knowing where he is and falls in the center of the ring. The crowd explodes as Ion whips himself across the ring where Devine is and he jumps over Devine's body and springboards off the second rope and does an beautifully flawless Moonsault and lands on Devine. Ion moves slowly as Devine is still down, and Ion goes for the top rope but Devine makes his way up to try and take Devine down and Ion wants to go for a sunset flip but Devine holds on! Ion swings his body back up, hooking his legs under Devine's arms and Ion swings his body back towards the mat and gets the sunset flip now, but Devine rolls through and goes for Ion’s ankle and Divine locks it in, but Ion uses his quickness and reverses the move by pulling his leg in, so that Devine could follow and Ion then extends his right leg and kicks Devine in the jaw with great extension.

Ted Cedar:
Aw, c'mon, now! Ion really thinks he's done something special here?

Joey Miles:
"What do you mean by that?"

Joey Miles:
"Oh, please! Devine should have known Ion was going to have some retribution in store for him
after their history together!"

Ion bounces up and goes off the ropes and lands a basement dropkick to send Devine into the corner of the ring. Ion gets up, but so does
Devine and Devine lands a mean clothesline from charging from the corner. Devine starts taunting the crowd and he then throws Ion out of the ring
but Ion rolls through as he hits the mat on the outside. Devine comes put the ring and Ion swiftly runs past Devine into the ring. But also Devine comes in to the ring, and he Irish whips Ion into the corner, but in a matter of seconds, Ion is kicked back towards the corner before spinning out and changing the momentum. Devine quickly stops this with a knee strike to the gut. Ion’s head is placed against the second rope as Devine chokes him. Devine places him in the corner, tells the crowd to shush, and hits a shining wizard to the jaw of Ion hard across the jaw. Ion falls to the mat as Devine steps on his back and then skull. Ion is slowly getting up, holding his head and gets to his feet and hits a dropkick that briefly staggers Devine. Devine shakes it off and hits a uppercut which he follows with a powerslam. Ion again gets to his feet and hits a couple of clotheslines. Devine falls back towards the corner and Ion hits him with a high crossbody, falling to the apron and landing on it. Ion gathers up his mindset, and goes for a beautiful crossbody, but Devine hits him with a spear in midair. That was only the beginning of the carnage. With each minute that passed, the all-out brawl grew more ferocious, as the two
competitors absolutely dismantled one another – whether it was Ion slamming his foe‘s head into the canvas or Devine mercilessly smashing Ion’s skull into the unforgiving steel ring post. Yet no matter how ruthless things became, the heart of C5 Ion refused to give in. And in a key moment, The Creator of the Matrices roared back with a jaw-dropping Tornado DDT off the ring apron.
Bryan regained the advantage and ultimately cinched in the Koji Clutch, but the vicious Devine bit his way out of the submission move. The XWA Universe would have no time to catch its collective breath; seconds after Devine escaped the running dropkick by rolling out of the ring, Ion lunged at Devine through the ropes. But Devine was able to catch his opponent, and hurled him face first into the ringside barrier with unrelenting brutality.

Joey Miles:
What the hell!?! That was devastating!

Ted Cedar:
Ion has seriously entered the matrix in the head cracking move!

Devine slowly takes his time by throwing Ion's body into the the ring and goes for a cover.

ONE

THR-KICKOUT

They exchange blows and Devine hits a dropkick. Ion is on the mat and Devine stands on top of him. He interlocks his legs with Ion and jumps to apply pressure. Ion punches and then hits a snapmare. Quick kick and cover, but Devine kicks out. Ion knees him in the back and then lifts Devine to his feet. Scoop slam, followed by a leg drop attempt but Devine rolls out of the way. Devine hits a kick and then drops a knee to the face of Ion, followed by another. Devine awkwardly twists on Ion’s arm, and then stomps down on it. Devine picks up Ion and then whips Ion into the ropes, but Ion dodges a kick and throws Devine out of the ring. Ion heads to the apron and drops down with an axe handle. Ion connects with an uppercut, but Devine responds with one of his own. They begin to slug it out. Devine whips Ion over the barricade and then gets back into the ring so the referee can begin the count. Ion crawls back into the ring. Devine stands Ion up and connects with a couple of kicks. Devine locks on a side headlock. Ion escapes with a side slam and then heads to the apron. Ion leaps for the springboard crossbody and connects, cover.

ONE
TWO
THR-KICKOUT

Ion slaps him across the chest a couple of times, and then whips him into the corner. Devine reverses, but Ion dodges a high dropkick. Cover, but Devine kicks out. Ion immediately goes to a chin lock. Devine gradually gets to his feet and escapes. Both men bounce off the ropes and hit crossbodys at the same
time!

Joey Miles:
What a collision!

Ted Cedar:
Both men ran into each other having the same thing in mind.

Devine uniquely applies pressure to the arm of Ion and Devine taunts the crowd and then goes to the top rope. Ion knocks him onto the turnbuckle and follows after. Ion yells, “Creator of the Matrix”, and hits a hurricarana from the
top. Devine quickly gets up and Ion hits a spin kick as he tries to recover from the attacks that Devine has focused on his arm. Devine slides out of the ring, but gets hit with a baseball slide. Devine punches Ion on a suicide dive
attempt and then leaps up the turnbuckle. Devine soars into the air for a huge missile dropkick.
Ion is on his knees and gets caught with a couple of punches. Ion tries for a German Suplex, but Devine lands on his feet. They roll through a couple of covers, and Devine kicks Ion hard in the face. Devine lays Ion out in the middle of the ring and takes to the top rope. Devine leaps for a picture perfect moonsault and hooks Ion's leg.

ONE
TWO
THR-KICKOUT

Joey Miles:
Ion barely kicked out around the three count.

Ted Cedar:
That was a two and three thirds of a count right there.

Joey Miles:
This damn Ion has to step up his game to win this match.

Devine quickly applies with a rear chin lock and Ion tries to get out of the hold but Devine
uses his leverage to maintain the hold. Ion gets to his feet and he backs Bryan into the
corner. Devine with shoulders instead of giving a clean break. Ion with a European uppercut
followed by forearms and a kick. Ion says that he didn’t do anything wrong and Devine uses
that time to kick Ion and then he forces Ion into the corner with a series of kicks. Devine
wraps Ion’s leg into the ropes and then he hits a running drop kick to the knee. Devine with a
European uppercut followed by kicks to the leg. Ion with explosive quickness suddenly grabs Devine and hits Exploder suplex and both men are down. Always a game competitor, Ion started to pick up the match with low kicks and elbows on his opponent, but the creepily charismatic Devine took control, showing off his power with a potent clothesline and a ring-shaking slam.
Ion looked to counter the dangerous Devine, but the Devine had answers to all of his offense. After hitting a slam and a standing moonsault, Ion called for the Matrix #2, but the disarmingly athletic Devine dodged it and launched himself off the ropes into Ion with the impact of a car crash. But Ion – at least outwardly – showed no fear, tossing Wyatt over the ropes before recklessly flipping over the top rope himself, dropping Devine at ringside. Dragging Devine back into the ring, C5 Ion went off the top rope to hit a huge cross body and a pin attempt, but he rolled off of it instead. Devine hit a kip-up and went for the Devine DDT, but Ion locked in his devastating finishing maneuver, Matrix #2, out of nowhere and viciously planted his opponent in the chest with both knees and went for the cover.

DING! DING! DING!

Joey Miles:
How the hell did C5 Ion win this?!

Ted Cedar:
Because he was he better man, Joey, but can I just tell you Joey, how much I love having
C5 Ion at my feet, again.

Joey Miles:
Yeah we get it, you hate Johnny Devine.

Ted Cedar:
A victory against Johnny Devine is a huge stepping stone towards that. Ion has the momentum on his side as he holds the Intercontinental Championship contract whenever he wants to cash in...
