| Damn, Ribery is the latest casualty.
Today we get to end of every season when international tournaments come along & players all knackered & injured. Ruins the World Cup. No Falcao, CR7 struggling, so many others physically in poor condition. Way too much football. Some players playing almost 70 games between club & country. |

| International Friendlies in between matches of the season are always disastrous. |

| After seeing all of these injuries, I think the US should just play the bench tomorrow vs. Nigeria. No need to risk a key-man. |

| Fuck we play Portugal, later. I hope anyone that isn't Maza and/or Corona don't get injured. |

| lol the quality of teams in group G is fucking exaggerated. This is no "Group of Death." Group B > Group D > Group A > Group G |

| Today's match actually left a good taste. I love how Hernandez played today. I think it'll make Piojo reconsider. Peralta plays best when he has another forward beside him. They're either going to have to swap out Peralta for Hernandez or Gio for Hernandez. Pretty solid performance, a very gross marking mistake at the end, but we pretty much managed the game well, especially in the 2nd half. I love how Marquez at times goes up to a DM position. They need to put in Reyes for Maza though. I still would put Ochoa in goal.
Should have scored 2 or 3 goals. Clear opportunities missed. |

| I consider Group A to be one of the hardest groups of the WC. But pretty much the 4 you listed are the Groups of Death. |

| Nah, Group A just as deep. Brazil is better than Germany & Croatia is slightly better than Portugal atm. Ghana is the most talented African team, but they do not overmatch Mexico, Cameroon, or the USA a great deal.
Oh, & if Ronaldo can't play for Portugal, Portugal are not getting out of the group. |

| They're traditionally terrible at tournaments anyways. I actually like Germany & Ghana to get out right now, but I can also see any combo of those teams getting out of group G tbh. Thought Germany was a near lock until recently... |

| I agree now. If Ronaldo can't play, the US SHOULD beat THIS Portugal team. Not basing it on tonight either. Just in general, not a great team. |

| I also determined that Hernandez fits Piojo's system better than Oribe does. Wouldn't mind swapping them. Oribe looks lost in Piojo's system. Either they have to put a forward next to him or take him out. Hernandez is a good forward in Piojo's system as they like to attack the flanks with the wing backs and send in crosses. Hernandez makes very good runs inside the box. |

| Spain beat El Salvador 2-0. Santi Cazorla, David Silva and Koke is a deadly trio. I don't know what's up with Cesc Fabregas, he looks really slow and demeaning nowadays. Del Bosque went in with a great tactic in the second half, played with two strikers, used Cazorla's and Silva's passing ability, and used Alonso and Koke (Busquets and Xavi later in the game) to send out reverse crosses from midfield, where Juanfran or Sergio Ramos direct the ball with their heads for a striker to head it in. Worked to score the goal, and made some great chances.
Also, El Salvador's goalkeeper is great. Made some amazing saves, looks really good in the air, really tall, brave. He looks really good. |
