Following CM Punk's shocking departure from WWE last week, new reports have begun to emerge about what led the self-professed “best in the world” to so hastily walk out.
In this week's (subscribers-only) F4W Newletter, Bryan Alvarez notes that, as well as a general frustration with the booking, Punk was deeply disgruntled with constantly playing second fiddle to John Cena and not being pushed like a genuine top star.

It is also said that he's upset that no matter what happens, he'll never be pushed as the John Cena-caliber face of the company, and if he has no chance of reaching that level and has the money to walk away, he may as well walk away now and not waste his time. Punk at one point pushed hard to go heel despite the fact that he was super over as a babyface because he realized that as a babyface he'll always be number two behind Cena, so his idea was to turn heel so at least he'd be number one on the heel side.

Alvarez went on to mention that feelings in the company were greatly divided regarding Punk's antics:

Half the people seem to think that he stood up for himself and did the right thing and should be applauded. The other half feel he's being a baby about all of this and shouldn't have walked out, particularly without even given the company time to write him out of storylines.

He's right. Even when he was WWE Champion on the face side, he STILL never main evented any PPV with the exception of TLC, and that's because Cena wasnt even on the card. Instead, we got shitty main events like Rock/Cena, Cena/Big Show and Cena/Johnny Ace.

And this is probably the 1,000th different reason I've read as to the reason why Punk walkout.

We've read that he had a concussion, he wanted the main-event at WM, he was upset that Batista/part-timers were getting the nod over him, it's a work, he was frustrated w/ his character, & now Cena is the reason.

He's free money right now. No one cares what you say -- if you write something about him someone wants to read it. You could probably get clicks on an Illimunati article speculating the 'real' CM Punk is being deprogrammed right now and the 'new' CM Punk will return soon.

Regardless of the reason, he's acting like a spoiled bitch by taking his ball and going home.

Why? It's not like he "lost his smile" or anything.

^Because he just walked out in a huff without giving his employers a chance to write him off. He should have given notice if he felt that strongly.

There is probably a strong chance that he'd been given out feelers of this nature for a while. Tell tale signs will have been there in the locker room and it just reached a boiling point on Monday night.

Also, if in doubt blame John Cena...or TNA. It'll be their fault tomorrow.

Unhappy for not being pushed like John Cena? Pfft. That is one juggernaut Punk isn't going to touch.
