Coming Soon reports that FOX has ordered the production of a pilot for 24: Legacy, a possible new reboot series. FOX Chairmen and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman made the announcement today at the TCA winter press tour. The executive producers are Howard Gordon, Manny Coto, Brian Grazer, Kiefer Sutherland and Evan Katz. It will be produced by 20th Century Fox Television, Imagine Television and Gordon’s Teakwood Lane Productions. It will feature a completely new cast but keep the “real-time, pulse-pounding, fast-paced” style it’s known for with split screens and complex storylines. Each episode will still represent one hour of a single day.

The new series will follow a military hero, who returns to the US with trouble following him. He eventually asks the CTU for help to save his live and stop what could be one of the biggest terrorist attacks on American soil ever. It’s based on the original series, which was created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran.
