At E3 this year, Square Enix fulfilled the dreams of many gamers by announcing a remake of Final Fantasy VII. At the same time, we already knew about a port of the original version, which would seemingly be obviated by a remake.

In the latest issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine (by way of GamesRadar), director Tetsuya Nomura suggests that things are changing for the new version. Specifically, he cites “dramatic changes,” (but not so drastic that the game is unrecognizable).

Watch, the combat system will be like FF12. (I think it started in FF11 though. Y'know, the open world ones. Where instead of random battles, you choose. And it's also real-time instead of turn-based.)

As long as it's nothing like 13's. Good concept, terrible execution. What I've played of the 15 demo makes that seem kinda crap, too.

12's would be great, cause it's just like Xenoblade's YO

However, it should stay as the original turn-based system. It's just not the same without it Sad
