S6.5) Northern Lights - "Untitled" Empty
PostSubject: Re: S6.5) Northern Lights - "Untitled"   S6.5) Northern Lights - "Untitled" EmptyTue Jul 28, 2015 4:09 pm

XWA Vendetta returns from a commercial break, as the audience is cheering for the show thus far. The lights fade as Velvet Revolver's "Slither" hits and smoke fills the arena. Two silhouettes are seen in the fog, up until the twenty-nine second mark in the song, when they emerge from the smoke to reveal themselves as Cobalt and Liam Tremblay. The fans cheer for the XWA Tag Team Champions, whom hold their respective titles over their shoulders. The lights come back on with a blue tint.

Ted Cedar: "Well, this is unexpected. The Tag Team Champions weren't scheduled to be here, tonight."

The men, known collectively as Northern Lights, make their way to the ring before sliding in. Liam asks for a microphone.

Liam Tremblay: "At Summer Sanitarium, we took on two other tag teams in a tornado-style elimination match to become the brand new XWA Tag Team Champions. We did that for one reason and one reason only; to prove that tag team wrestling is not dead. Me and Cobalt here did just that when we put on one hell of a showing and won these titles. Now, I'm not really one to hop in a ring, grab a microphone and talk for thirty minutes. I'm more the type to hop in a ring, grab somebody by the ankle and snap it in half. So, I'll get to the point. Me and Cobalt want some competition, so we're out here, right now, to issue an open challenge, for our Tag Team Championships, to anyone in the XWA locker room!"

The audience cheers loudly as Liam lays down the open challenge and tosses the microphone.

Ted Cedar: "Woah! We're gonna get a Tag Team Championships match right now?!"

David Michaels: "Well, they're fighting champions. Just what I like to see. But who's gonna accept?"

Liam holds his hands up and bends his fingers in, signalling for somebody to "bring it", as Cobalt looks on, ready to fight. A moment passes before the challenge appears to be accepted.

"He who makes a beast out of himself gets rid of the paaain of bein' a maaan."

M. Shadow's inhalation scream echoes all throughout the arena as new XWA Hall of Famer Danny Diamond steps out from behind the curtain, Skye Sapphire holding his left hand as he has a microphone in his right hand. The audience lets out a loud, mixed reaction.

Ted Cedar: "Danny Diamond! But does he have a partner?"

Danny Diamond: "Hello there, Liam. I haven't seen you in a while. Matter of fact, I think the last time I saw you was over in England, when my father was teaching you everything you know about being a wrestler."

Ted Cedar: "For those who don't know, Danny's late father owned the School of Excellence, a wrestling academy in England. Liam, and Danny himself, are two of the few wrestlers to actually graduate from there."

Danny Diamond: "So, uhh ... Here's the thing. I'm in a bit of a cranky mood. Can you guess why, Liam? Well, let me tell you why. Two weeks ago, after I came into that very ring and spent ten minutes entertaining the audience with words, far more than anyone in this company could hope to do with wrestling, I was scheduled to compete against James Best in a Million Dollar Chamber qualifier. However, it never happened. Why did it never happen, you ask? Well, apparently the show was running a little late and they needed to make time for the main event of the evening; some Australian idiot and the worst wrestler in XWA history going at it for a championship that, let's be honest, nobody gives a flying fuck about anymore. Now, I'm obviously not going to take that lying down. I've been promised another opportunity at the Million Dollar Chamber two weeks from now, at Vendetta one hundred and sixteen. But, for tonight, I think I can do with letting some of my anger out. What better way to do that then by adding to my already colossal championship collection? So, you've got yourself a challenger."

Danny lets out his signature grin as Liam and Cobalt look on, mildly confused.

Liam Tremblay: "Yeah, that's fine and all, but see, we fight fair, not handicapped."

Danny Diamond: "Oh, right, had I not introduced my partner, yet? My bad. Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages ... please welcome, my tag team partner ..."

Diamond points at the stage, until a certain theme song begins to play. Powerful chords strike the air from the p.a system before a choir of sorts chants “Dies Irae”, Latin for Day of Wrath and wrestling for Mark Storey. Golden lights drape the entranceway as Mark steps through the curtain, his arms open wide, microphone in hand.

Ted Cedar: "Quite literally the last man I expected to walk out on that stage, David."

The iconic metal rendition of the hymn dies down as Mark raises the microphone to his mouth, clearly out here to join Danny, clad in his wrestling attire.

Mark Storey: "Thanks Danny. Since returning I’ve defeated James Best and Mark Stretch, I’m on a winning streak, comfortably too may I add. Yet when I arrive at the building today, what do I find? Danny, what do I find?"

Danny simply shakes his head and looks to the floor in utter disappointment and disgust.

Mark Storey: "I find out that I’m not booked! A superstar, no, megastar, on a winning streak, is not booked for the show. Not only am I not booked, it gets worse. One of the two men I’ve defeated gets a XWA Lionheart Championship match, a championship I’ve held here, and the other gets a number one contenders match for the XWA World Heavyweight Championship. Excuse me? What the fuck is that, huh? I’m left off the card and those two fucking losers get title shots and opportunities? What relevance does this have to you two? I can see it on their faces, Danny look. The relevance to you two is that as soon as Danny approached me, after explaining he wasn’t there to take me out of the Million Dollar Chamber match, is that he told me about your little planned invitational. Boys, you done fucking goofed tonight. You’ve got a pissed off Danny Diamond and a fucked off Mark Storey."

The crowd cheer Mark interrupting him.

Mark Storey: "Who in the hell are you cheering for? I’m not out here for you. I’m out here for me. Danny is completely right, I deserve better in this company, I always have done. I am head and shoulders above the wrestlers in this company and I get zero recognition for it and I sure as hell don’t need any recognition from you lot of bloody fat yanks.”

Immediately the crowd boos Mark and Danny as Danny simply applauds Mark, allowing him to say his piece.

Mark Storey: "Tonight is my royal ascension in the XWA. I’m sick and tired of fucking about in this company. We are the united kings of the United Kingdom. We are the best this company has to offer, hands down. We have so many accolades and achievements between us that XWA would need to commission another show for me to list them. We are the next XWA Tag Team Champions and we are the Royal Ascent."

Mark throws his microphone to the side, as does Danny, and they make their way down to the ring, with Skye following along close behind. Diamond slides under the ropes whilst Mark uses the steps and walks along the apron. The senior referee, Ryu Sanu, retrieves the Tag Championships from a riled up and determined Liam and Cobalt. He shows them to Danny who stands in his corner inside the ring, and also to Mark who continues to stand on the apron, every so often breaking his concentration from the ring to yell at disagreeing fans in the front rows. With both teams aware of what’s at stake, Ryu stands in the centre of the ring and lifts the two championships high for all to see as those at home or those watching the titantron see the large XWA Tag Team Championships graphic fill the screen.

Ted Cedar: "Who would have thought that four superstars not even scheduled to compete here tonight would be having this impromptu match for the XWA Tag Team Championships?!"

David Michaels: "It’s a surprising turn of events, like I said it shows the Northern Lights as fighting champions, but I’m not sure they expected these two as challengers."

Ryu stands in the middle of the ring, after handing the championships out of the ring, next to Laura Watts who officially introduces the competitors.

Laura Watts: "Introducing first, the XWA Tag Team Champions, the Northern Lights, Liam Tremblay and Cobalt!"

The two champions turn to the crowds and raise their fists in the air, garnering quite a loud reaction after what just went down. They both then turn to their challengers and lower their arms, ready for the match ahead. Cobalt exits onto the apron as Laura speaks once more.

Laura Watts: "And secondly the challengers, the Royal Ascent, Mark Storey and Danny Diamond!"

Brash and cocky as ever, Danny turns and steps up on the bottom rope, letting out a huge yell to the crowd, as if expecting adoring cheers from anyone other than Skye, whilst Mark stands on the apron, raising his hands in the air, flipping the bird on each fist. With the introductions done, Laura makes her way quickly out of the ring as the bell is rung.

DING! DING! DING!

Ready to prove the Northern Lights are fighting champions, Liam dashes towards Danny and clobbers him into his corner. Able to deliver some quick punches to Danny before Mark realises what has happened, Liam hits Mark with an elbow to the face, leading Mark to jump to the floor below to avoid even more damage. Making a rookie mistake when it comes to teamwork, Mark leaves Danny to the mercy of Liam, who decides to show absolutely none, grabbing Diamond by the leg and dragging himself outwards to the ring, taking him off his feet in the process. With Danny grounded, Tremblay stretches the leg outwards and delivers an elbow drop to the inside thigh. Danny yells out in pain beckoning Storey into the ring and the arms of Ryu. Not lovingly, but disdain as the senior official is adamant that Mark leaves the ring. Applying a single leg Boston Crab, Liam elicits yells from “The Shine” garnering Ryu’s attention, who promptly asks if he wants to submit. Still fresh, Danny refuses and pushes himself up from the mat. With the small gap he creates he is able to flip himself into a counter roll-up! Being close to the action, Ryu is immediately able to start the pin attempt! ONE! T-NO! Surprising, but not able to sneak a win from the Northern Lights that early. The two men break free from one another and scramble to their respective corners, tagging in their partners. Like two trains of a collision course Storey and Cobalt collide in the centre of the ring and hook up. They quickly transition into a headlock, instigated by Cobalt, who is unceremoniously pushed off of his opponent and towards the ropes. Rebounding, he runs toward a doubled over Mark. The champion switches his direction and runs to the perpendicular ropes, rebounding off of them and running back with great speed and boots Mark clean on the side of the face sending Mark collapsing to the mat!

Ted Cedar: "My goodness that has got to hurt!"

David Michaels: "The Northern Lights are a good match, they complement each other so well, a win here will be no easy feat."

Instead of trying to pin Mark, Cobalt pulls him to his feet and leaves him standing groggily. As Mark stands on spaghetti legs, Cobalt delivers a huge European uppercut then another European uppercut, and another and another as he forces Mark backwards into the Northern Light’s corner. “Fire Rated” tags his co-champion in, allowing Liam to enter the ring through the ropes. Liam begins to kick Mark in the gut, over and over causing Storey to fall into a seated position. Liam tags Cobalt, switching places once more, allowing Cobalt to use his powerful long legs to grind his boot off of Mark’s face; breaking away when the referee begins his count. He tags Liam but stays in the ring, pulling Mark to his feet instead. Cobalt turns Mark to face towards Liam and the turnbuckle and applies a waistlock. Suddenly, Tremblay connects with a huge dropkick, sending Mark into a world of hurt, in the form of a German suplex from Cobalt, completing their signature Dropplex manoeuvre. Upon impact, Cobalt rolls and exits under the bottom rope whilst Liam, as the legal man, covers Mark for the win. ONE! TW-NO! Mark is able to lift his shoulder from the mat as Danny stands half in the ring, half on the apron, as he was about to make the save. “The Idol” finds himself instantly in another predicament when Liam applies a headlock in a seated position in the middle of the ring. Danny stands on the apron and stretches his arm for the tag, which Mark tries to reach for, but is too far away from. As Mark pulls away from Liam, Liam switches his offence, locking his legs around Storey in a Body Scissors! “The Elite of Elites” looks like he’s in agony as Liam crushes the sides of Mark’s body with his thighs. Mark grabs Liam’s feet and try to pry them apart. With a solid double fisted punch to Liam’s feet, he breaks the hold just enough to swivel 180 degrees to face Liam and clobbers him in the face with a hard elbow!

Ted Cedar: "The pace has slowed and the match is very technical and strike-heavy. This is exactly what Northern Lights want here."

David Michaels: "The key is teamwork, Ted. Right now, Northern Lights have a greater grasp on teamwork, which allows them to keep the match at the pace they want."

”The Destined Deity” takes residence on top of Liam, holding the back of Liam’s head with his left arm and striking his face with his right. The former LionHeart Champion then hooks Liam’s head under his shoulder, whilst Liam attempts to wear Mark down, hooking in that body scissors from the front. Yelling out, Mark tries to break free with a left handed punch to Liam’s side, but to no avail. Instead, the British superstar starts to make it to his feet, lifting the smaller superstar with him. Getting to a stance Mark looks dead out into the hateful crowd and yells before dropping backwards and hitting a cradle DDT on Liam, Degradation! The champion goes limp on the challenger’s body before Mark pushes him to the side. With this break in offense, Mark looks around to find his team’s corner and spots Danny who is stretching for the tag, willing him on whilst simultaneously talking shit to the fans. Skye starts to slap the mat to support Mark, whilst the crowd boos him in support for Liam. Mark gets to his knees and starts to make his way towards Danny, watching Liam as he does the same in front of him. Mark stands slightly and quickens his pace, he stomps on Liam to avoid any mishaps then jumps toward his corner, allowing Danny to tag himself in and drop a massive standing elbow drop across Liam’s back, keeping him from tagging in Cobalt.

Ted Cedar: ”Mark makes the tag and Danny was able to stop Liam from reaching Cobalt. This is just what they needed to turn this thing around.”

David Michaels: ”They better be persistent, though. Gaining the advantage is one thing. Keeping it is a whole other thing.”

Danny begins smacking Tremblay in the back of his head numerous times, mocking him as he does so. ”Come on, Liam. Make the tag, buddy. You can do it, I believe in ya!” Diamond chuckles while Liam desperately attempts to tag in Cobalt, but “The Prized Gem” grabs him by his ankle and drags him away from his corner, into the center of the ring, proceeding to drive an elbow into his back for a second time. The Englishman quickly gets back to his feet and poses, lovingly, for the audience. Of course, he garners a ton of boos for this, but the smile on Danny’s face says that’s exactly what he wanted. He grabs Liam by the head and yanks him back up to his feet, proceeding to wrap his arms around the mid-section of the Canadian superstar before flipping him onto his back with a picture perfect Northern Lights Suplex, landing in a bridged pin. ONE! TW-No, Liam kicks out! Danny gets back to his feet, still smiling as he expected the kickout. Suddenly, “The Rubix Cube” spins around and drills Cobalt in the jaw with a Rolling Elbow to take him straight off of the apron! The surprising and dirty move from Danny garners more boos from the audience, but they quickly change to cheers as Liam takes advantage, pulling his opponent backwards into a Roll-Up! ONE! TWO! THR-But Danny kicks out! However, Liam doesn’t let go of him on the kick out, instead dead-lifting him onto his shoulder with one arm and pounding him down into the canvas with a huge modified Powerbomb! The fans cheer loudly for the strength shown by Liam as both men are down!

Ted Cedar: ”Incredible strength on show from Liam right there!”

David Michaels: ”Damn, that was impressive.”

Slowly but steadily, Liam begins crawling towards his corner as Cobalt uses the ropes to help pull himself back onto the apron. Danny is out of it, but he's still attempting to get back to his feet in the center of the ring. Just as Danny reaches a vertical base, Tremblay makes the tag and Cobalt jumps into the ring with a burst of energy! He nails the Englishman with a Clothesline, but Danny pops right back up, only to eat a Big Boot to the bridge of the nose! Diamond quickly, albeit a tad bit slower this time, gets back to his feet and desperately rushes towards Cobalt, but he's lifting off of his feet and spun around with a Double A-style Spinebuster dubbed the Burn Notice! The fans cheer as Cobalt goes for the cover. ONE! TWO! THR-But Storey makes the save in time! He decides to do more than break up the pin, however, as Mark attacks Cobalt with punches and kicks all over, until Liam comes to his partner's rescue! The men from Canada and Northern Ireland brawl, exchanging punches and elbows and even forearms strikes to the face, until Liam attempts to toss Mark out of the ring, but Mark pivots and sends Liam out instead. He goes to turn his attention back to Cobalt, but the bigger man quickly wraps his arms around Mark's body, just under his arm pits, and flips him off of the canvas with a Belly-to-Belly Suplex, Cobalt not even arching his back as he does so! The impact of the Suplex causes Mark to roll under the bottom rope, onto the apron near his team's corner of the ring. Cobalt goes to turn his attention back to Danny, but he takes a Discus Clothesline head-on for his troubles; Die Tonight! Groggily, as he's still recovering from the Spinebuster, Danny drags Cobalt to his team's corner and reaches over the top rope, tapping Mark, whom is still getting up, on the shoulder to tag him in. Diamond exits onto the apron and begins slowly ascending the turnbuckle while Mark reenters the ring and gets back to a vertical base, stepping away from Cobalt a fair bit to gain some space. He waits for the Maine-native to get back to his feet, while Danny reaches the top rope. Once Cobalt is standing, Mark rushes towards him, extending his arm out in a Clothesline style, but instead of landing a Clothesline, he wraps his arm around Cobalt's neck and spins himself around the big man, pressing his knees into his back and taking him down with a modified Back Lungblower dubbed the Misdirected Misfortune! Mark holds onto Greg from underneath him, keeping his knees firmly planted in Cobalt's back, as Danny leaps from the top rope, twisting his body about in a Corkscrew Shooting Star Press that he likes to call the Diamond Press; Danny crashing down on top of Cobalt, whom gets crushed between Danny's body and Mark's knees! Mark quickly pulls Cobalt backwards into an almost German Suplex-like Bridged pin. ONE! TWO! THREE! The audience lets out a loud, mixed reaction, as Mark pushes Cobalt off of him.

DING! DING! DING!

Ted Cedar: ”That’s it! New champions! We have new champions!”

David Michaels: ”Well I’ll be damned.”

Storey gets back to his feet as Danny pats him on the shoulder, grins coming across the faces of both competitors. With the audience still letting out their loud mixture of cheers and jeers, the official hands over the XWA Tag Team Championships to their new owners.

Laura Watts: ”Here are your winners, and the NEW XWA Tag Team Champions … Mark Storey and Danny Diamond!”

Danny and Mark look at their titles and then back at each other, Diamond simply nodding at his new partner.

Ted Cedar: ”We weren’t even scheduled to have a Tag Team Championship match here tonight, but we’ve got new champions! Wow!”

David Michaels: ”The Northern Lights were very ballsy to set up an open challenge for their titles, and I gotta commend them for that, but in the end, they just couldn’t beat this duo of legends.”

The show cuts to a commercial break after a final shot of the new champions celebrating.
