"Ant-Man" is headed to movie theaters a little sooner than expected, with the Marvel Studios film moving release dates from Nov. 6, 2015 to July 31, 2015, as reported by Deadline.

This adds to an already busy summer 2015, including fellow Marvel Studios production "The Avengers: Age of Ultron" (out May 1 of that year); the untitled Superman/Batman film from Warner Bros. (July 17); and Star Wars: Episode VII, the first entry in that franchise since Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm (no release date yet, but scheduled in the summer).

"Ant-Man" shared its previous release date with the next James Bond film from director Sam Mendes and star Daniel Craig. The previous entry in that franchise, last year's "Skyfall," grossed more than a billion dollars worldwide.

No "Ant-Man" cast has been announced, but Edgar Wright (most recently of "The World's End") is directing, and also co-wrote the script with Joe Cornish, who he worked with on 2011's "The Adventures of Tintin" film. Wright was first hired for the film in 2006

He was created in the 40's, when heroes where seen as "superhuman", as in, they can do everything, they're invincible, they fight crime, etc. But they have to have a weakness (Batman doesn't count cause he's a human and he was very comedic in the originals, not the dark character we see today). So back then that was acceptable. If they took it away now, he'd be wayyyyyyy overpowered.

That's kind of the point... There's nothing interesting about his character in the slightest.  He was popular because he was invincible.  He was the MAN OF STEEL, nothing could beat him.  He was the perfect idol for kids at the time.  Doesn't mean he's not a terrible character in retrospect.  The only remotely interesting comic I ever read with him involved was his fight with Doomsday where he died.  Which I found out was an alternate timeline not too long ago which kind of buzzkilled it for me.

What do you mean nothing interesting? He's like the original Goku. He's stronger than everyone else, he's a powerhouse, and him being in the Justice League makes the group all the better. Without Superman, the Justice League would suck, even with Batman.

The Justice League does suck, even with Batman.  It has it's gems, but it's watered down and overpowered with so many fucking people these days it's not even remotely interesting.  Being the 'most powerful' is not interesting in the slightest.  Goku wasn't invincible, in fact he lost several times.  And it wasn't because of some random scheme to introduce kryptonite, it was simply that he got the fuck beat out of him.  He was considered the most powerful, but in the end, he was beatable.  You can't even say it's the same as you always know that Superman will win in the end.  Goku did not always win in the end.  There's just no doubt.  You can't convince someone that he will.  That's the point of him being invincible, that's what made him the perfect hero at the time.  His entire creation and character pandered to that.  

But in the end, that doesn't make him any more interesting to me.  I understand that people enjoy him, I simply don't, and nothing he's done has ever come close to changing that for me.

Henry Pym is one of the best characters of all time and you're all bad people for not knowing him.

He is, my main worry is how they do putting him on the big screen though.  I can easily see Hollywood screwing it up if they aren't careful.

I'm not talking about these days. I'm talking about the original 7. Supes, WW, Bats, Flash, Lantern, Martian, Hawkgirl. Those were epic.

I don't care. That has more to do with the villains then. Ever heard of Darkseid? Or Braniac? They've been shown to be as strong as Superman in the past. It's no different than Goku fighting an enemy. Plus, all Goku had to do was "train for a bit" to catch up to whatever ultimate villain was coming. I LOVE DBZ, and I have to admit that was just bad. Superman at least has created some awesome arcs, the whole "Going mad over Lois' death" in the Injustice story? Epic.
Of course Superman and Goku are the same. They're two invincible people that can only get matched by certain people (Superman with Darkseid, Braniac, General Zod or w/e, etc. Goku with Frieza, Cell, Majin Buu, etc), they're two birds of a feather.

And I understand you don't enjoy him, but that doesn't justify saying that he sucks and I shouldn't use him to try and prove DC is better. He obviously has an outstanding fanbase seeing as he's been voted the number 1 hero many many times, so obviously many people like him. If you don't enjoy him, that's fine, just don't go and say he sucks and I shouldn't use him to stalk about DC's positives in a legitimate discussion.
