The story, as it's being told, is that upon taking a drop kick from Rey Misterio Jr, Aguayo's neck hit the ropes weird and he suffed a cervical traumatism that first made him collapsed in the ring, was taking to the hospital where he was pronounced dead an hour later.

The other wrestlers then began to improvise as the referee began to check on Aguayo, who was not moving. Extreme Tiger executes a dive to the outside on Manik while Konnan and Mysterio look to check on Aguayo. Konnan reportedly tried to rouse Aguayo, while Mysterio did a 619 on Manik right next to them. Mysterio then hit a splash off the top rope to score the pin, and Konnan signals that something is not right.

Aguayo was taken from the Municipal Auditorium to Del Prado Hospital by paramedics after he was treated. He was reportedly pronounced dead at 1AM.

AAA released the following statement today on his passing:

“The grief overwhelms our hearts. Rest in peace, El Hijo del Perro Aguayo.”

I can't find the actual video, but the video of him lying their dead is pretty awful. I just wanted to see the trauma. <_<

UPDATE: PWInsider has updated its report with a description of a video of the match that has surfaced online with a better description of what possibly led to Aguayo’s passing. Keep in mind, this is all speculation based on someone’s viewing of the match in question. You can read the account of the match below:

“All four men are battling in the ring when Aguayo is nailed with a missile dropkick. He takes a bump that results in him flopping over and landing on his stomach. He returns to his feet and takes a head scissors from Mysterio, bumping outside to the floor, twisting his body while running to take the move and go through the ropes. Aguayo lands on the outside and returns to the ring and is dropkicked, resulting in him landing against the ropes in the traditional position to take the 619. It appears Aguayo may have suffered a spinal trauma while taking the bump to the outside of the ring, not realized it (possibly due to the adrenaline of performing) and worsened the injury taking the dropkick after he returned to the ring. Once he hits the ropes, Aguayo is completely out and it appears that since he landed in the normal position to take the 619, that greatly added to the confusion as initially one would think he was just selling.”

They just thought he got knocked out, which tends to happen a lot. Del Rio knocked out D-Bry on Raw.

^^ I noticed that too. Like he was legit out, the guy that looks like Suicide even checked up on him and saw he didnt respond. They should've carted him out first, maybe he would have survived - or at least had a better chance.

Exactly they thought he was knocked out. You make a spot which gives someone a chance to check on him. In a tag match it's even easier to take the attention away while this happens.

You can tell he was gone before Rey even attempted the 619. Manik is trying to talk to him and even pushing him a bit, to no response.

"Oh hey, there's a guy slumped over not moving on this side of the ring. TIME TO FLIP DIVE, LOL."

The guy at ring side was also fucking dumb.
One thing you should never do is to move an unconscious person's neck.

They should've called the match done when he was unresponsive.

They all thought he just got knocked unconscious. No one suspected it was a neck injury.

^it's common sense that when someone passes out or is seemingly KO'd for whatever reason, you never (ever) move their necks, especially the way the guy did it.
