Minkaro vs. Evan Flare Empty
PostSubject: Re: Minkaro vs. Evan Flare   Minkaro vs. Evan Flare EmptySat Aug 24, 2013 11:21 pm

With both men having completed their entrances and been introduced to the crowd, the referee checks them for foreign objects. During this process, Evan seems relaxed as a man can be going into a wrestling match, whereas Minkaro is purely focused on his opponent, to such an extent that he reacts with a small start when it’s his turn to be checked. Happy that both men are unarmed, the referee signals for the bell.

DING DING DING

The ringing echoing in their ears, Evan Flare and Minkaro approach each other, meeting in the centre of the ring. Straight away Minkaro’s left hand is clasped to Evan’s right, as they begin to lock-up. The other hands take a little bit longer to come together, as both know that when that happens, the battle for supremacy will truly be underway. After a brief hesitation from Minkaro, the test of strength begins, and is an even one, with neither man budging an inch. Minkaro does have a slight size advantage, weighing 23lbs more than Flare, but not enough of one to make much of a difference here. This was never going to be about the stronger man, but rather the smarter, quicker, or more technically gifted one, and that is quickly evident when the two wrestlers start to try to manoeuvre their opponent into a more favourable position. After some fruitless struggling in this fashion, Flare suddenly raises his foot, looking as though he intends to kick Minkaro in the shins. He does not; putting his foot back down as normal, but the sharp action causes Minkaro to try to take a step back, whilst his hands are still gripped by his opponent’s. The now off-balance Minkaro is unable to prevent Evan from pulling him down into a side headlock.

He is, however, able to free himself from the headlock by jamming an elbow into Flare’s ribs, causing him to release the hold. Separated, the two men face each other once more, and prepare to lock-up once more. As the hands move towards their counterparts, Evan Flare shifts position swiftly, stepping to the side in order to kick Minkaro firmly in the thigh. Minkaro moves his left arm down in an attempt to block a second kick, but, having anticipated this, Flare aims the kick higher, connecting with Minkaro’s shoulder. With the Shrewsbury native shaking his arm to try and relieve the pain, Flare is now able to take that second shot as his leg, and does so with a kick that can be heard throughout the arena. In just a few moments, Flare has turned this match into a cagey technical affair, into one that allows him to hit hard, playing into his strengths. Now standing behind Minkaro, Flare plants both hands into his back and shoves him into the ring ropes, driving a knee into the small of his back when he returns. This causes Minkaro to involuntarily spread both arms, allowing Flare to hook his own around them in a Double Chickenwing, whilst keeping the knee in Minkaro’s back.

Realising that the knee to the back could actually be the reason the move fails, due to it creating separation between himself and Minkaro, and thus making it harder for him to keep the Chickenwing locked in, Flare decides to abandon the submission move, quickly yanking back on Minkaro’s arms and bringing the other knee up in order to transition into a Lung Blower. Due to the hastiness of the move, it doesn’t have quite the damage that it usually would, and this is perhaps why Evan doesn’t go for a cover afterwards. Instead, he allows Minkaro some time to sit up, before delivering a ferocious kick to the back. As Minkaro rolls away, Evan Flare darts after him and hits a Knee Drop to the back, rolling forwards after the impact to return to his feet, and nodding in acknowledgement of the applause from the audience. He only lets himself indulge for a moment, before turning his attentions back to his opponent. Minkaro is back on his feet, but is more concerned with trying to soothe the pain in his spine than going after Flare. His hand rubbing the small of his back means that he only has one arm with which to try to block Evan Flare’s chop, and this proves to be not enough. Following the tradition, the crowd shouts “WOOO!” along with the chop, and again with the next one, and the next one, until Flare has managed to force Minkaro into the corner of the ring. Pushing Minkaro against the turnbuckle, Flare grabs hold of the Englishman’s wrist before whipping him across the ring into the opposite corner, where Minkaro’s back slams into the three turnbuckles with sufficient power that he staggers out with a cry of pain.

Running towards Minkaro with the intention of hitting a Clothesline, Flare is taken by surprise when The Metal Machine hits a Dropkick to the jaw. The more keen-eyed fans in the arena will have spotted that Minkaro twisted his body after hitting the kick, so that he lands on his side rather than his back. Both men are up to their feet quickly, but Flare is soon taken off his by another dropkick from Minkaro. This time Flare decides maybe standing up isn’t a good idea if he’s only going to get kicked, and instead rolls underneath the bottom rope in order to buy himself some time to think. He doesn’t have long though, as Minkaro steps through the ropes on an adjacent side of the ring, and runs up behind Evan Flare to shove him into the steel ring post, bouncing his shoulder off it. A smattering of boos from the crowd can be heard from a minority who don’t like the sneak attack, but the majority are happy to see that the two men being fan favourites isn’t going to get in the way of them doing all they can to win. Minkaro pulls Flare up, and wraps his arms around his waist, before hitting a Back Suplex, angled so that Flare’s shoulder bounces off the ring apron as he falls. Recognising that the referee has reached the count of six, Minkaro slides into the ring to reset the count, before going back to work on Evan.

After dragging the former Cruiser-X champion back up, Minkaro lifts him and slides him back into the ring, just enough so that his arm and part of his upper body is on the ring apron, exposing the shoulder that Minkaro has begun to work on. With a glance to make sure that Flare isn’t going to move, Minkaro climbs onto the apron, then up onto the outside of the middle turnbuckle. He pauses, knowing that his next move is going to hurt him almost as much as it hurts his opponent, but also knowing that it could win him the match. Deciding that it’s going to be worth it, Minkaro leaps from the middle turnbuckle with a Leg Drop that hits nothing but the ring apron. Flare, having managed to slide himself further back into the ring to avoid the attack, watches on as Minkaro flails around on the arena floor, having aggravated his own back injury with the failed move. Flare steps out onto the apron, watching as Minkaro’s convulsions propel him up to a standing position, before jumping off with a Double Axe Handle to the spine. This does not cause Minkaro to go down, but does make him take a few steps forwards, which allows Flare to reach down, and pull back sharply on Minkaro’s legs, causing him to flip forwards, landing on his back on the arena floor. Minkaro sits up, and is caught with another fierce kick to the spine, similar to the one he suffered earlier on. Flare chooses this moment to slide back into the ring, but does not slide back out, instead remaining inside the squared circle. As the referee’s count reaches seven, Minkaro rises and joins Flare inside the ring.

Busy concentrating on avoiding being counted out, Minkaro is caught unawares by Flare, who allows his opponent to slide up to him, before stomping on his back. As soon as the foot connects, Flare uses that to propel himself into the air, twisting his body whilst airborne in order to land on Minkaro’s back once more with an Elbow Drop. As Minkaro arches his back in pain, Flare sees the opportunity to apply a Camel Clutch, and takes it. Before he can sit down to fully lock the hold in, Minkaro manages to free himself, before scrabbling backwards through Flare’s legs. The Pioneer Anomaly rises underneath his opponent, lifting him into an Electric Chair position. He manages to turn around with Evan Flare in this hold, but cannot keep him up due to the punishment his back has taken throughout the match, allowing Flare to counter into a Victory Roll pin. One...two…and Minkaro manages to force his way out. As both men start to stand, Flare suddenly dashes forwards, with the hopes of being able to drive an elbow into the back of Minkaro whilst he is doubled over. However, the former XWA International champion has the attack scouted, quickly straightening up and stepping forwards so that Flare dashes right past him. Evan Flare turns around, and is greeted by a Thrust Kick to the shoulder, which knocks him into a sitting position in the corner of the ring, leaning against the bottom turnbuckle. Not wanting to give him the chance to get up, Minkaro hits a Hesitation Dropkick, again to the shoulder, before pulling Flare out of the corner and covering him. One…two…and it turns out Minkaro hasn’t pulled him quite far enough, as Flare is able to slide a foot underneath the bottom rope.

The match official backs Minkaro away from Evan Flare due to the rope break, and Minkaro seems perfectly happy to take this time to catch his breath. When Flare is back to a vertical base, Minkaro extends his hands to invite him in to lock-up. Evan approaches him shaking his head, and after knocking Minkaro’s hands to one side, delivers a chop to the chest that makes a smacking sound that can be heard throughout the arena, despite the “WOOO!” from the crowd. The look of shock on Minkaro’s face is quickly replaced by a smile, and he nods in approval before replying with a chop of his own to Flare. Back and forth these strikes go, with neither man budging an inch until one particularly nasty chop from Minkaro sends Flare reeling. The chop battle now turns into a one man chop show, as Minkaro whacks Flare once more to send him into the corner, and then unleashes a rapid-fire series of chops to the chest, making sure that some of them connect with the shoulder that he’s been targeting for a while. Due to the assault being in the corner, eventually the referee has to order Minkaro to let Flare out, doing so via the usual five count. Flare does leave the corner, but does so in a rather more upside down fashion than he might have liked, due to Minkaro pulling him out a bit before hitting a Belly to Belly Suplex.

A close-up camera shot of him after the move shows him wincing, obviously not too happy about having to do things like that with a sore back. Flare is soon back up to his feet, and Minkaro is just as quick to go after him again. Flare kicks out at Minkaro to try and stop the attack, catching him in the gut just enough to double him over slightly. As Minkaro straightens up, Flare spins around with an attempt at a Spinning Back Fist, but Minkaro ducks down once more so that it sails over his head. Behind Flare, Minkaro hooks his arms underneath his adversary’s, and brings him overhead into a Dragon Suplex, bridging into a pin. One…two…and Flare is out of the pin. This is due to a combination of him kicking out, and the fact that Minkaro cannot maintain the bridge with his back hurting so much. It is also the back problem that leads to Flare being on his feet when Minkaro is only up one knee. Grabbing hold of Minkaro’s hair, Flare pulls him up and forwards into a Gutwrench Position. The crowd rises, knowing that they are about to witness his finishing move: The Blood Reign. As he starts to lift Minkaro though, the Bionic Technician assists the momentum by kicking into the mat, meaning that he sails up and over Evan’s body to land behind him, allowing him to hit a modified Pele Kick that sees him flip tilted slightly to one side, so that the kick connects with the side of Flare’s shoulder, rather than the top of his head as it usually would.

Flare is knocked into a sitting position by the kick, and Minkaro is quick to try to take advantage of his chance by grabbing his arm, and locking in a Dragon Sleeper. Whilst this is a move that usually focuses on the neck of a wrestler, Minkaro is clearly more concerned with doing damage to Evan’s shoulder, and is trying to twist the arm into every angle possible, except the ones that it’s actually meant to be in. After a struggle, Flare manages to plant his feet into the canvas, and pushes himself up to a stand, but Minkaro still manages to keep the hold locked in. Possibly realising that he’s not going to be able to counter the hold, Flare begins to search with his feet for the ropes, trying to earn himself a rope break. Minkaro soon puts a halt to this by dragging Flare into the centre of the ring, and turning the Dragon Sleeper into a Reverse DDT. He goes for the cover. One…two…and Flare manages to kick out at two and a half. Minkaro looks towards the ref, who holds up two fingers to him to confirm the count, and then crawls to the corner of the ring, where he uses the turnbuckles to pull himself up. Minkaro remains in the corner of the ring, crouched down, eyes focused purely on Evan Flare as he waits for him to return to his feet. The longer it takes for Flare to rise, the more agitated Minkaro becomes, until he seems ready to start foaming at the mouth. Eventually Flare does stand, and Minkaro explodes forwards with a Spear…that sees him sprint straight past a side-stepping Evan Flare. Minkaro manages to stop himself before he crashes into the turnbuckle on the opposite side of the ring, but is unable to stop Flare from grabbing hold of his tights, and spinning him around into a Gutwrench position. This time Flare manages to lift Minkaro onto his shoulder, but cannot hold him there as it’s the shoulder that Minkaro has wounded. Dropping down to Flare’s side, Minkaro wraps his arms around his opponent’s head, before snapping it down backwards into The Arockalypse! Minkaro scrambles across to make the cover. One…two...thr…NO! Evan Flare has kicked out of The Arockalypse!

The crowd is going ballistic, cheering for the heart shown by Flare. Minkaro is just sitting at the side of his opponent, shaking his head slightly in disbelief as he stares into the distance. As he brushes his hair out of his eyes, the head-shaking becomes more vigorous, and he slams a fist into the mat before pushing himself up to his feet. Flare soon joins him, but this is because Minkaro has grabbed him by the wrist and dragged him up. The sight of Flare swaying gently back and forth, looking as though he might fall over without Minkaro’s help, confirms to the viewers that his kick-out earlier was mostly out of instinct. The Lone Wolf moves around behind Flare, before running up and leaping into the air. Before he can grab Flare’s head to hit The Arockalypse a second time, the veteran competitor springs into action, wheeling around to hit a Spinning Back Fist that slams into Minkaro’s chest, knocking him out of the sky. With Minkaro sitting down, Flare backs up a few steps, before hitting a Shining Wizard. Rather than go for the cover, Evan rolls Minkaro over onto his stomach, before dragging him across the ring near the corner. With Minkaro motionless after the kick to the face, Flare climbs up the corner of the ring to the top turnbuckle, where he remains for a moment, looking out across the sea of fans that are chanting his name, before leaping off into the Double Foot Stomp that he calls Southern Arrow, landing on Minkaro’s back. Flare rolls forwards as he lands, returning to his feet in one fluid motion. Returning to Minkaro, he grabs him by the arm and drags him once more, this time into the centre of the ring. He covers…one…two…thre…Minkaro kicks out!

Now it is Flare’s turn to turn to the referee and make sure that he wasn’t just imagining that Minkaro kicked out before three. The official again holds up two fingers, and Evan turns back to Minkaro, irritation glittering in his eyes. Eyes that widen when he sees that Minkaro is already up to his hands and knees. Knowing that he has to act quickly, Flare moves across to grab Minkaro by the head, pulling him up into that all-too-familiar Gutwrench position once again, but this time he lifts Minkaro onto the shoulder that isn’t injured. Unfortunately for him, he is still unable to hit The Blood Reign, as Minkaro manages to elbow him in the side of the head, forcing him to let go. Minkaro drops down behind Flare again, and sets off running for the ropes. When Minkaro rebounds off them, he returns with a Spear, somehow managing to anticipate Evan’s attempted dodge of the move. As Flare sidesteps to avoid the Spear, Minkaro adjusts his course so that the move still connects. The crowd are shocked by this, but even more shocked by the fact that the impact of the Spear sends both men through the ropes and down to the arena floor with a crash. “Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit!” is the group consensus at this point in the match. Even the referee looks taken aback, as he leans over the top rope to check on the two men, for a moment looking as though he wants to call the match off there and then.

With the crowd roaring, clapping and stomping their feet to try and stir one or both of the athletes before them into motion, the referee has to bellow at the top of his lungs to make his count heard. As he reaches seven, both men are stirring, and are each trying to use the other to help themselves back up. At eight they are both standing, but are still having to hold on to each other to remain that way. At nine, they suddenly realise that they only have one second left to get into the ring, and slide into it in unison. The crowd cheers, expecting a return to the action, but are quickly quietened by the sight of the two men just lying there, having expended most of their energy by just getting back into the squared circle. The official again starts to count, looking bewildered when the crowd start to boo each of his shouts. They are not booing him or either of the men in the match, but actually booing the idea that the match might end like this. At the count of seven both men are on their knees, and they decide that this is far enough as they both start to trade punches from this position. As the punch fight continues, the pair starts to rise to their feet, almost as if each blow from one man is knocking energy into the other. Eventually they are both standing, and the battle of blows continues with Evan getting the advantage, beginning to be able to get two punches in to Minkaro’s one, as Minkaro slows down.

It is at this point that the Afroed athlete starts to trade punches for his signature 12-to-6 Elbow strikes, firstly delivering them to Minkaro’s head, but then starting to drive the elbow into Minkaro’s back when the Shrewsbury native is bent over. Minkaro would probably have fallen down again by now, if it weren’t for Flare holding him up with a handful of hair. For the fourth time in the match, Evan Flare pulls Minkaro into a Gutwrench position. For the first time in the match, he isn’t even able to lift Minkaro up before The Last Rock and Roll Star wraps his arms around his waist, and powers him back first into the corner of the ring. From here, Minkaro manages to lift Flare up and sit him on the top turnbuckle, visibly gritting his teeth as he tries to ignore the fact that his back is screaming at him to stop that. What he cannot ignore is the fact that Evan has started with his 12-to-6 Elbow strikes again, preventing Minkaro from climbing up the turnbuckle with him, and preventing him from executing whatever move he had in mind. Minkaro is forced to take a step back, and when he tries to approach the corner again, Flare kicks him away with both feet, allowing himself to push himself up so that he is standing, rather than sitting, on the top turnbuckle. Evan Flare leaps into the air, clasping both hands above his head in a Double Axe Handle, which never connects. Minkaro, seeing his opponent take flight, rushes and rises to meet him in mid-air, hitting a Spear that seems as though it might have ripped Evan in half. The cover is made. One…two…three! Minkaro has beaten Evan Flare! The first man to do so since Flare’s return to XWA!

DING DING DING

The crowd is on their feet, applauding the efforts of both men in this match, as a graphic pops up at the bottom of the screen to show the current standings in the XWA Championship tournament. The only man in the ring on his feet right now is the referee, who wisely waits a while before helping Minkaro up, letting the victor have a chance to recover just a little. When his hand is raised, Minkaro lets out a roar of triumph, having proven that he can still compete with the best XWA has to offer.

Minkaro vs. Evan Flare Empty
PostSubject: Re: Minkaro vs. Evan Flare   Minkaro vs. Evan Flare EmptySat Aug 24, 2013 11:54 pm

After two promo segments, some chatter from the talking heads, and probably a commercial segment or two, the entrances for the main event occur and the fans start to rise back to their feet in anticipation. In one corner, the pioneer anomaly Minkaro, who stretches in one corner in his green and black ring gear. In the other corner, the leader in the tournament to crown the next XWA World Heavyweight Champion, Evan Flare, in his slightly altered gear with new instances of red. Flare is stretching his hamstrings in the corner as the ring announcer makes their announcements. The referee calls both men into the center of the ring and they oblige. The referee says his last bits of instruction before making a motion to send them back to their corners. He turns to the time-keeper and makes another motion, this time calling for the bell.

DING DING DING

Minkaro and Flare both inch toward each other, switching quickly between eye-contact and leg-watching to track the whereabouts of their opponent. Flare stops abruptly, as does Minkaro. They make wild eye movements up and down each other before they start to circle the ring. They make false movements with their limbs as if to give off the impression they're going to attack wildly when they have no intention to do so. They slow down their lateral movement and look once again to make contact. Each man sticks a hand out and they intertwine their fingers as they inch closer again once more. They both turn toward each other, with their other hand in the air looking for another connection. Flare shoots down at Minkaro's inside right leg but is caught in the chest with a left-footed kick that stops him in his tracks. Minkaro grabs Flare's left hand with both hands now, and pulls it upward before accelerating quickly downward to send Flare crashing into the mat from his knees. He quickly transitions Flare's left arm into a wrist lock as he creates torque. Flare plants his right palm into the mat and pushes himself upward, causing Minkaro to lose position and move backward a bit. From both knees, Flare hops to his feet without using his hands, but stays low because of the torque on his wrist. Flare reaches up with his right hand and grabs Minkaro's left arm at the forearm. He jumps into the air, planting both of his feet just above Minkaro's knees and uses his grip on his left arm and Minkaro's own grip to create momentum going the other direction, as Flare Monkey Flips Minkaro. Minkaro lands on the canvas with a small thud, but it's not a major impact.

Both men bounce off the mat and are instantly back to their feet as they rush forward into a collar-and-elbow tie-up. Flare maneuvers his right arm across his chest and targets Minkaro's right arm and turns the tie-up into a Hammerlock, turning quickly and gaining position behind him. With the men near the center of the ring Minkaro takes an interesting route of defense as he pulls Flare violently in his direction as he walks him to the ropes, showing clearly who has the strength advantage. He grabs the ropes with his left hand and the referee instructs Flare to break the hold, which he does in short order. Minkaro wastes no time in continuing the match, however, as he turns and throws a right hand that connects with Flare sending him stumbling backward. Off balance, Flare offers little defense as Minkaro once again charges forward with a running push in the mold of a Monty Brown Pounce that sends Flare into the air as he crashes down to the mat. Again, Minkaro is full-speed ahead as he dives at Flare and grabs his leg and pulls him away from the ropes into the middle of the ring. Flare, a little out of it, has one palm on the ground for balance and the other in the air to defend any strike attempts, as well as his left leg bent at the knee with his foot planted into the ground. Minkaro rises back to his feet with control of Flare's right leg, with his ankle forced between Minkaro's ribs and underarm with the strength of his forearm, and his left arm strategically placed just under his knee on it's front side to help control Flare. With his left leg, Minkaro reaches out and kicks Flare in the hip. Flare struggles a bit but can't escape the grip of Minkaro. Minkaro bends at the knees slightly and then extends them once more, helping him lift Flare's lower back entirely off the ground as his shoulders and neck sink toward the mat at a higher angle. Minkaro uses this opening to unleash another left-legged kick into the back of Flare.

Ted Cedar: Interesting offense so far in this one! We haven't seen an Evan Flare match start in such a way since his return. Jaylon Brown and Hitman Alex had a similar, if not better strength advantage but neither used it as well as Minkaro is doing now.

Adam Dennis: No they did not. Minkaro had a game plan that Flare apparently doesn't have a defense for – that's another first.

Flare reaches down with his palms and plants them into the ground, allowing him to come off the mat a bit and come closer to Minkaro. With his left leg, Flare reaches out and front-kicks the grip of Minkaro causing him to lose it and drop Flare's leg onto the mat. Flare hits the mat with his knees bent. Minkaro reaches down to grab Flare's right leg again, but is caught this time with a kick to the neck area knocking him off balance, stumbling backward. Flare turns quickly to his stomach and pushes off the mat and gets back to his feet. Minkaro turns around at full speed once again and goes for a Spear, apparently looking to catch Flare off guard and end the match early, but Flare leapfrogs the attempt as Minkaro drops to all fours after leaving his feet. Flare dives at Minkaro, but the Pioneer Anomaly quickly does some diving of his own at the bottom rope. The referee instructs Flare to break his grip on Minkaro and to back away and once again he obliges, but this time takes larger gather steps to get more space between he and Minkaro. Minkaro takes his hands off the ropes and reaches up to the top rope and uses them to pull him up to his feet. He turns toward Flare and they inch toward each other again. Minkaro goes for a collar-and-elbow tie-up but Flare shoots low and gets both of Minkaro's legs, knocking him off balance as he crashes into his shins with his shoulder. Minkaro falls backward planting his palms into the mat. Flare abandons his grip and dives forward looking for a falling elbow and connects with the face of Minkaro as he moves into a side-guard position. Minkaro is rocked by the elbow shot but he doesn't break composure. He hooks his right arm under Flare's left arm and around his neck as he turns to his side and uses his strength to throw Flare off of him to the mat as he turns along with him to get into side control. With his left leg he reaches up and pins Flare's left arm underneath, leaving Flare seemingly defenseless as he uses the opening to start throwing left hands knocking Flare's head into the canvas. Flare is quick to defend, though, as he drives his toes into the canvas and bridges his upper-body before using his legs to flip himself over all together, first throwing Minkaro off of balance and then flipping himself over the top back into a control-position. With his side vulnerable because where his arm has Flare's head hooked, Flare unleashes 12-to-6 elbows into his ribcage, forcing him to break his hold of Flare's neck and move his arm into a defensive position.

Flare begins to position his hands again, trying to force Minkaro into another defenseless position, but does not account for the size difference, as Minkaro reaches up with his right leg and knees Flare in the head sending him off of Minkaro and tumbling out of the ring on to the mat. He bounces off the padding and turns to his back, reaching at his head. Minkaro gets to his feet slowly but compared to Flare he looks like a leer jet as Flare is motionless outside of the ring. The referee has started his count and is at a three as Minkaro gets to his feet. Minkaro walks toward the ropes and ushers the referee out of the way. He positions himself carefully, as he grabs the top rope with both hands and pulls backward before jumping into the air and swinging his legs out in front of him. As he drops ten feet to the floor, the crowd erupts with cheers as he lands a suicide leg-drop from the ring. Minkaro moves off of Flare quickly, but goes back to the ground grabbing at his behind as Flare flails around grabbing his face. The referee restarts his count. Minkaro is once again the first to his feet as he turns to his stomach and pushes himself to his feet. He walks slowly, with a bit of a limp, at Flare. He grabs him by the head and picks him up. Minkaro puts one hand into the small of Flare's back as he throws him back into the ring and follows.

Ted Cedar: What a move from Minkaro! And the fans are letting him hear it!

Adam Dennis:  You mean what a stupid move from Minkaro! Don't you see that limp?! That could cost him the match!

Minkaro goes for a quick cover but no one in the arena is surprised when Flare kicks out after just a one count. Minkaro picks himself off of Flare and lifts Flare along with him. As he gets to his feet, he sends Flare via an Irish Whip into the corner and rushes after him with a clothesline. The impact bounces Flare off the turnbuckle, taking a step away from the corner as Minkaro follows it up with a right-knee to the midsection, bending Flare over at the waist as he grabs his stomach and moans in pain. Minkaro reaches down and places his hand on his chest and throws him into the corner again as he arms wrap around the top rope this time. Minkaro reaches back and connects with an echoing open-hand slap as the crowd gasps at the sound. Minkaro grabs Flare by the left arm and attempts a second Irish Whip into the opposite corner. Flare lands in the corner and Minkaro rushes after him, looking for a leaping splash this time, but Flare ducks underneath as Minkaro smashes into the turnbuckle. At the same time, Flare dashes at the ropes and returns at a dead-sprint and leaps into the air, hitting Minkaro in the face with a Horizontal Dropkick ALA Roderick Strong's Sick Kick, sending Minkaro falling backward through the middle and top ropes as he falls to the outside.

Flare takes some time getting to his feet, but he's in no hurry as Minkaro gathers himself on the outside. As he gets to his feet, he looks out at the fans as they cheer for what they anticipate is coming. He turns away and dashes toward the ropes, once again returning in a dead sprint. He gets down low to the ground as if to go for a Suicide Dive, but as he sticks his head through the ropes he's blasted with a European Uppercut that throws his upper body upward as he bounces into the top rope and falls back down, hitting his face on the ring apron with his legs dangling from the middle rope on the inside of the ring. With his arms motionless as well, Minkaro approaches him and wraps his arms around Flare's midsection as he lifts him up and pulls him away from the ropes to free his leg. He runs him chest first into the turnbuckle and the fans once again make a lot of noise, but Minkaro doesn't stop there, as he swings him backward getting a higher grip on Flare's body, he runs him toward the guard rail where security has apparently cleared some people out of their seats for the planned spot, as Minkaro throws Flare with a running-release powerbomb, causing him to crash into the steel chairs. The crowd finds a new octave to reach as the arena goes absolutely nuts for the spot. The referee jumps out of the ring with the paramedics sprinting from the back to check on Evan Flare, as the crowd goes from incredibly loud to an awkward silence, as Minkaro slides back into the ring. As the paramedics get there, a chair flies up into the air as the cameraman finally moves into a better angle that now shows Evan Flare completely conscious, clearing the wreckage from around him. The crowd explodes once again. The referee tries to get him to stop to check on him but he refuses, as he leaps over the guard rail with a slight limp of his own, he ignores the paramedics as he and the referee re-approach the ring. He slides under the ropes as the referee continues to try to get his attention, but Minkaro waits for him across the ring. Flare uses his hands and his knees to push himself to his feet as he and Minkaro make eye-contact once again.

Ted Cedar: I'm surprised Evan Flare is walking, but because he's able to I'm not surprised he's in the ring.

Adam Dennis: I'm surprised Evan Flare wasn't counted out. I can't believe that referee stopped his count.

Ted Cedar: Isn't that standard protocol? Safety takes precedent over a count-out?

Flare and Minkaro both rush toward each other and start trading punches. Minkaro, with his strength and reach advantage gets the better of Flare as he knocks him backward. With both hands he pushes Flare into the ropes and Irish Whips him. He follows him with a few short steps, getting closer to the middle of the ring. Minkaro tries for a clothesline but it's ducked by Flare who flies under his arm and continues his sprint. He bounces off the ropes and jumps into the air, sliding his foot into Minkaro's face with a Leaping Leg Lariat. Flare bounces off the mat and is quickly back to his feet, as Minkaro stays on the ground. Flare uses both hands to push Minkaro into the ropes, apparently looking for an Irish Whip, but Minkaro won't budge. Flare tries for a short-clothesline with his left arm but Minkaro ducks it and positions his hands and head to flip Flare over the top rope onto the canvas, but not out to the outside like he thinks as he holds onto the top rope. Minkaro walks toward the middle of the ring grabbing his jaw and turns around to see Flare gathering himself on the apron, which comes as a surprise judging by the look on his face. Flare returns to his feet and Minkaro charges forward looking for a Spear. Flare drops to his back and pulls the middle rope down with him as Minkaro shoots through and falls to the canvas rolling with speed before he crashes back first into the announce table, physically cringing, and arching his back in pain. After a few seconds of agony he rolls onto his stomach and reaches his hand back, rubbing his back.

Flare picks himself back up using the middle rope. He swivels his neck and sees Minkaro lying on his stomach. Flare steps through the ropes, but doesn't go far as he grabs the top rope and uses it to propel him into the air. He lands with both feet on the top rope as he once again leaps into the air, connecting with a massive Southern Arrow double-leg stomp, connecting with the lower back of Minkaro before his momentum takes him crashing forward onto the announcers' table. Flare gathers himself slowly as the referee starts his count.  Flare grabs Minkaro by the head and slowly brings him to his feet. Flare puts both of his hands into Minkaro's chest and drives his feet, pushing him into the metal post. Flare takes a few steps back and rushes forward, leaping into the air. He plants his right foot on the apron, grabbing the middle rope with his right hand, as he swings his left foot looking for a kick. Minkaro catches his left leg in mid air, palming him at the shin. He jerks his leg backward, causing him to lose grip of the rope as falls onto Minkaro's shoulders. Minkaro sprints forward and moves his hands from Flare's back to his stomach, as he uses them to throw Flare off his shoulders with a second running release powerbomb, this time wrapping Flare's spine body around the metal post as his legs connect with the steel, flipping him backward so that he drops six or seven feet and lands on his face.

Ted Cedar: How many more of these can Flare take and still get out of bed tomorrow morning?

Adam Dennis: How many more of these can Flare take before he's unable to walk out of this building of his own power.

Minkaro walks to where Flare lies unconscious as his eyes remain shut as his head sits to one side on the mat. Minkaro grabs him by the head and picks him up to his feet and throws him into the ring, breaking the referees count. Minkaro follows, but doesn't reenter the ring as he climbs up on the apron. He looks at Flare for a moment with his eyes wide, before catapulting into the air and planting his feet on the top ropes, before jumping again to attempt a Springboard 450. His jump a little too far and Flare was able to roll toward the ropes and out of harms way as Minkaro slams into the mat with an echo as the crowd gasps once more. With one hand Minkaro pushes his chest away from the mat and with the other he grabs at it in pain as he turns to one side to try to relieve the pain.

Flare reaches out with his left hand and tries to use the ropes to pick himself up, but can't as he falls back on his back, writhing in pain from the small impact. Minkaro slowly gets back to his feet, but is in no hurry as Flare has shown no ability to get up. Minkaro picks him up by his head once more and walks him into the middle of the ring. He grabs Flare's arm and swings it over his neck to put him in suplex position. He lifts him up into the air and stalls with him in the air as the crowd slowly begins to stir again. After a five second pause, he drops Flare to the mat with a Destination Unknown Jackhammer. Flare's back crashes into the mat as he screams out in pain, Minkaro hooks his outside leg and presses down on his shoulder, looking for the matches first legitimate pin attempt. The referee slides into position.

Kickout at 2 ½ from Flare.

Adam Dennis: I would comment that I was surprised he kicked out if I wasn't already surprised he was moving at all.

Ted Cedar: Evan Flare can surely taken a whoopin', but at some point you reach a point where you're no longer a viable candidate to win the match.

Minkaro picks him up by the head and throws him into the corner. Minkaro climbs to the middle rope and starts the ten punches, but it seems to do more bad than good as the low-impact strikes knocks Flare from his daze. With his right hand he continues throwing punches, but Flare counters the punches by working his arms underneath Minkaro's legs. Flare drops down to a lower center of gravity and walks Minkaro away from the corner as he tries desperately to grab the ropes. Now that he's too far to reach the ropes, as Flare slowly walks him away Minkaro starts throwing right hands, but they don't stagger Flare as he works his way into a run at the opposite corner and throws Minkaro with his own running-release  powerbomb. As he bounces off the turnbuckle, he stumbles toward Flare who takes a gather step with his right foot before sending his left foot out forward and spinning, allowing him to connect with a Spinning Back Fist which Minkaro can't defend. His fist lands on Minkaro's jawline as he immediately drops to the mat unconscious, but unfortunately for Flare, so does he, as he apparently was running on steam.

The referee starts another count as the fans start to chant “This is awesome.”

Both men milk the count but are back up, if only barely, by the end of the nine count, with both men using the ropes to create balance. They slowly inch toward each other and start trading punches. Again, Minkaro's strength and reach advantage cause him to get the better of the exchange. He pushes Flare into the ropes and Irish Whips him. Again he tries for a Clothesline, and again Flare ducks it. Flare returns again and looks for a leaping clothesline of his own, but he's caught this time by Minkaro, who hooks Flare around the collarbone in midair and turns the move into The Bitter End. (Rock Bottom) The move slams Flare into the mat, but the momentum going forward and catching Flare knock Minkaro away from Evan on impact. Both men are not moving on the mat again, but after a brief pause Minkaro starts crawling slowly toward Flare. He gets to Flare and drapes his arm over his chest. The referee slides into position.

Kickout at 2 ½ from Flare.

The crowd erupts with cheers as half of them were convinced it was over. After some more milking of the crowd, Minkaro stirs to his feet and walks to the corner, as he motions for Flare to get up. Flare starts to stir shortly, but stumbles toward the opposite corner as he struggles to find solid footing. He turns toward Minkaro, who starts his sprint looking for a Spear. Flare reaches out with both arms and grabs the ropes on either side of the corner as he pushes himself into the air,  dodging the spear attempt. Minkaro stops short of running into the turnbuckle, but Flare drops down with his legs falling on either side of Minkaro as he turns the counter into a Sunset Flip-like pin attempt. The referee slides into position.

Kickout at 2 ½ from Minkaro.

Once again the fans start to cheer as a big portion of the crowd thought that the match was over.

Minkaro rolls away from Flare looking to create distance as he gathers himself. Flare, who seemingly gave everything he had to that pin attempt, falls backward and rests his head on the turnbuckle. Both men start to stir at approximately the same time and again they're quick to continue their offense as they quickly approach each other. Both men start trading punches, but Flare has seemingly found a second-wind as he starts throwing punches quicker and with more effort as he slowly knocks Minkaro toward the ropes. He reaches out and tries for a front-kick, but Minkaro catches it. With his other leg, Flare jumps into the air and connects with a front-feed Uppercut Enzuigiri, jerking Minkaro's head back violently as he falls back into the ropes and drops to the mat on his side. Flare's fall wasn't great either, as his injured back landed on the mat without any bracing for impact, so he flails around in pain again. Flare is quick to hit feet, though, gritting his teeth as he picks Minkaro up off the ground by his head. He connects with a right-knee to the midsection as Minkaro hunches over in pain, grabbing his stomach. Flare pulls Minkaro into his body and puts him in Gutwrench position. He picks Minkaro off the mat and gets him to his shoulder, but Minkaro slips out the back as Flare grabs at his back again.

Minkaro stumbles away trying to find his balance, and lunges forward before leaping into the air looking for The Arockalypse (Zig Zag,) but because they were so close to the ropes, Flare grabs on and all of Minkaro's strength pulling him away doesn't break his grip as Minkaro lands on his back and rolls into the middle of the ring. Flare exhales and once again grabs at his back as the pulling from Minkaro put a strain on it. Minkaro gets to his feet in the middle of the ring, but can't get a hand up as Flare turns to him and quickly connects with another Spinning Back Fist, once again dropping him instantly as Flare falls forward, off balance, and lands on his chest. He hooks his leg and goes for the pin. The referee slides into position.

2.
Kickout by Minkaro at 2 ¾.

Ted Cedar: What's it going to take to put one of these two away?

Adam Dennis:  A small miracle, from the looks of it...

The crowd once again gasps as they're treated to a third false finish. Flare rolls off of Minkaro and both men are shown as the camera angle from above zooms in. Minkaro lies seemingly unconscious with his eyes closed. Flare lies with his eyes wide open. Flare turns to his side and pushes himself to his feet. He picks Minkaro up by his head and deliver a knee to the midsection. He pulls him into his body and lifts him up onto his shoulder. He pauses, giving the fans a scare as his knee buckles a little bit, but he regains his balance. He drops Minkaro toward the mat and sends his knee into the back of his head for The Blood Reign. He drops to both knees and hooks Minkaro's leg.

Laura Watts: Here is your winner! Evan … Flare!

A graphic showing the standings is shown on the titantron, showing Evan Flare alone in the lead. Now on his feet, he hangs over the top rope with one hand on his back and one hand on the rope for balance as he stares at the graphic. And that's how we end this week's show.
