NXT news this week was all about addition and subtraction.

WWE's developmental territory cut a big man loose, continued to clash with Kassius Ohno and Paul Heyman teased the possibility about adding Paige to his crew. WWE officials are also set to host a tryout that includes some intriguing names from the independents.

The NXT roster's shifting will send some folks off to pursue other endeavors and will send others, including perhaps one Anti-Diva up to the main roster. From Dante Dash to the NXT women's champ, here is the latest WWE developmental news.
Dante Dash Released

NXT's roster just lost a 300-pounder, as Dante Dash is reportedly no longer a part of WWE developmental.

Raj Giri of WrestlingInc.com wrote, "WWE has released NXT talent Dante Dash."

As the NXT roster gets increasingly crowded with new names, we're bound to hear more news like this. Dash, who is also known as Flex Freeman, is a big, muscular, good-looking guy who could make waves on the independent circuit if he chooses to continue his in-ring career.

Dash had been with WWE's farm system for three years and apparently didn't do enough to stand out. His profile is no longer up on WWE.com's NXT section.
Kassius Ohno

For fans of Chris Hero/Kassius Ohno wondering why he hasn't made it the main roster yet, the answer may be in his work ethic in the gym.

Rumors have previously floated around about his physique being the main hold-up to him advancing. The latest word is that he's not working to scale that hurdle.

According to WrestlingInc.com, "Ohno seemed reluctant in the weightlifting and gym sessions, although he continued to receive high marks for his overall attitude and the great effort in his daily in-ring sessions. He was removed from some TV tapings after word got back to Triple H that he skipped gym time."

He appears to be doing fine in this video of him working out. Ohno is no Mr. Olympia, but it's surprising that a company that employs Bray Wyatt, Santino Marella and Brodus Clay is reportedly unwilling to push such a talented performer because he isn't ripped enough.

Chances are we'll find out more about this tension if it continues to build. If this is more of an attitude issue than a physical issue, then we're not likely to see Ohno in a WWE setting.
New Additions?
NXT's fringe Superstars could soon be on the way out, as WWE is set to have a tryout camp that includes some big names from the independent circuit.

Marc Middleton of WrestlingInc.com relayed info from Wrestling Observer about some possible new additions to the NXT fold. He wrote, "Word is that Eddie Edwards, Davey Richards and Midwest indy wrestler Prince Mustafa Ali will be attending the WWE tryout camp at the end of this month."

Edwards and Richards have been tag team champions together in Ring of Honor and both would be great pickups for WWE.

Richards was named Most Outstanding Wrestler by Wrestling Observer in 2011. He is around Daniel Bryan's size but stronger with an intensity that will burn on screen. Edwards is a fine performer as well, excelling as either Richards' rival or partner.

Paige, Heyman Girl?

Paige fans may not have to wait much longer for the first-ever NXT women's champ to be on the main roster.

Various outlets, including Diva-Dirt.com, have speculated that a recent TOUT video by Paul Heyman is him hinting that his newest client would be Paige herself. The video is no longer up on the NXT TOUT page, but the rumor mill has already gained momentum aplenty.

There is, however, a video of Paige celebrating her 21st birthday.

With her age being a reported key factor holding her back from landing on the main roster, we could see her kicking Divas' butts soon, Paul Heyman girl or not.
