KANEKO TAKASHI VS CANDICE LOVE
SINGLES MATCH
GRADER: NONE

Double no-show. Although, the ending was posted, so we'll just go with that in kayfabe.

VLADIMIR STRIFE VS JAKOB AZAZEL
SINGLES MATCH
GRADER: NONE

Vladimir Strife wins by no-show.

DANTE CROSS VS AKIRA KOBAYASHI
SINGLES MATCH
GRADER: Riley

Akira Kobayashi: I liked the beginning of your match with Dante sneaking up from behind and going after on the right leg of Akira. Loving the way how you are having Akira sell the Injured right leg while Dante continues the assault. This could play up as a major problem for Akira into the match. With Akira laying on the outside and near the aisle way and Dante standing already in the middle of the ring and just watching Akira struggle to rise back to his feet, I too was thinking the same way that the Crowd was thinking, that Dante was setting up for a Suicide Dive but winded up sliding out of the ring instead and going back to work onto the prone and Injured leg of Akira. "Akira grabs Dante by the arm and uses his strength to whip him across the ring. On the rebound Dante goes to slide between Akira's legs on his front but before he can get through Akira drops down, landing sat on Dante's lower back. Akira wraps his hands around Dante's head in a face lock, creating a make-shift camel clutch move which wrenches away at Dante's back at the worst possible angle." - I could imagine the pain that must of have been going on through the back of Dante as Akira did this. Throughout your match there was plenty of Decent action going on as well as Selling. The Finish was good. Having been dropped with the wrist-clutch explouder suplex following it with The Twister. Dante resisting before tapping out was well.

Dante Cross: loved how you did a background check on both Dante and Akira. As well as describing Dante's mindset going into the match. Now onto the match it self. This was a  short one coming from you. To start off, you made Dante sound and look demon liked in your match. Especially from the opening as you had him on his knees, sliding and crawling towards Akira asking him to bring him on. I would say, Dante was crazy for giving himself or giving a freeshot to Akira like that. The match was I would say, not up to what you normally write but you had some decent action going on. The Finish alright. Though, it could've been more described then just Dante applies the Rear Naked Choke hold on Akira before passing out.

Verdict: I'm going to have to give this one to Akira Kobayashi I felt that his match had better Storytelling and was well formed. Dante, you're downfall here was your Description and Selling. Had you worked more on these two spots, I believe that you would've gave Akira a run for his money and made this a difficult decision for me to make. I would like to Thank both of you guys for showing up and can't wait to see what lies ahead for you both. Smile

MADDOX PAINE VS MARK STOREY
SINGLES MATCH
GRADER: Riley

Mark Storey: With Paine making his way down towards the Ramp, finally reaching towards the bottom of the ramp, Storey comes through the Crowd and attacks Paine. What a crazy and yet, awesome way to start off a match. But it doesn't end there, he continues his assault by grabbing a Steel Chair from beneath the ring and just attacks Paine's leg with the Chair repeatedly. loved how you tied up Storey's loss last week to the reason why he is acting like this. The action throughout was good as I felt there was no drop of it during the match. Overall, the match was good. Though everything was good such as Selling, the Storytelling, this was good for a Short match...Just wished that you had written more because it left me wanting more. The Finish where you had Maddox look for a flying punch. as Maddox is in the air, Storey leaps up and catches Maddox with a ace crusher. You putted the match away nicely.

XTREME ICON VS JAMES CARLISLE
SINGLES MATCH
GRADER: Meth

Xtreme Icon: For an Icon of the Xtreme you sure do play by the rules, haha. I can certainly tell by your match that you’re playing up Icon as a veteran of the ring, he knows his way around the squared circle, he knows his way out of submissions and he knows how to lock on a few himself. I did notice a few continuity/realism errors in your match, such as: “Icon pulls back as hard as he can as he presses his arm into the Achilles tendon of the Evil Genius. Slowly he starts to drag himself towards the ropes” Like I legit was trying to figure out why Icon was moving his own submission hold closer to the ropes and “huge 360 spinkick catching Carlisle in the face with his foot, knocking him over the top rope and out to the floor” Carlisle’s roughly the same height as Daniel Bryan so all I can imagine is an over-emphasised leap over the top rope. Of course, these aren’t major flaws, just something to look out for in the future; it may be fantasy writing but maintaining a level of realism does help when trying to visualise/read through the match. Carlisle’s meant to be a pretty smart guy and you do acknowledge this when Icon injures his shoulder you have Carlisle go after it, you do however seem to forget about that after the paragraph and have James go on to attack Icon’ leg instead. Again, it’s not that big of a deal but I’d have liked to see the focus more on the damaged shoulder as I feel it just helps with the flow, but you carry on with the led angle for the remainder of the match so that’s a plus one for me. I liked the little reference to Icon using the package piledriver the same as Carlisle does, that gave me a little chuckle, often times I see fedders disregard moves if their opponent has the same one among their moveset so it’s nice to read how you played them off. That said, the issue of realism and writing for a Vendetta match comes in. You had Icon kick out of Carlisle’s finisher at a Vendetta show. Usually I’d prefer stuff like that to be saved for big events/during rivalries. It just undermines the move a little bit and makes the opponent’s moveset look a little weak if the finishers are being kicked out of in relatively minor matches (i.e regular show, no feud/storyline progress). A little work on describing your moves, the repercussions and having better, I suppose, “selling” (for example, how does Carlisle’s body react to the Swanton at the end? Does he lie there flat out or does his body fold up slightly, his legs kicking up at the moment of impact and does he clutch his midsection after etc. little things like that) in your writing would benefit you greatly here Icon.

James Carlisle: I thought Carlisle moved away from heel, or was trying to? Irrelevant I’m sure, but jeering the crowd threw me off a bit and I don’t know why… My first thought after reading through the match was simply: Icon didn’t get much offence in. I’m not someone who particularly cares about this sort of thing as long as the match is well written and entertaining, but I few others have told me it’s frowned upon (namely Ian) so I don’t know how that might affect you if it happens again in the future. I had to re-read the superman punch/Tornado DDT paragraph multiple times. Icon goes outside the ring to punch a rope-hung Carlisle but Carlisle’s out the ring? I’m not entirely sure what’s happening here I’m going to admit. I know the move you’re trying to describe, El Generico’s cross-corner DDT but I’m struggling to figure out how the situation came about. I don’t get why the referee doesn’t disqualify Icon for a low blow either, I mean he punches James in the crotch. It’s out the ring but surely it’s still a DQ? The ending was an interesting sequence, but why wouldn’t Icon go for his Swanton Bomb when he’s in position for it? A cocky heel might decide to stop and continue the beating, but I can’t picture a face doing it for whatever reason. Your description is good, though could be a little better and you do a decent job of pacing the match with the wear and tear on the wrestlers and having them ‘sell’ the moves that they’re nailed with.

Verdict: I’m going with James Carlisle. Those mild errors built up and took me out of the match for Xtreme Icon, though I do think Icon had the stronger match finish out of the two. James wrote a better overall match and his descriptions, pacing and selling where overall just better than those in Icon’s match. Well done to the both of you.
