CM Punk will indeed be a playable character in the WWE 2k15 video game, as a rivalries mode was built into the game featuring him and John Cena. The designs for the game were solidified over a year ago, so Punk’s inclusion in the game has no bearing whatsoever on his current status with WWE.

It's not as bad as when WCW had a game with The Steiner Brothers three or maybe even four years after they left the company.
