Things are moving quickly for Universal Pictures’ The Mummy reboot, which is set to relaunch their monsters library that includes the likes of The Wolfman, Dracula and Frankenstein.
Just a day after locking in writer/producer Alex Kurtzman to direct, Universal shifted the film into the summer of 2016 with a new June 24, 2016 date.
As reported yesterday by Heat Vision, plot details are being kept under wraps, but it’s understood that the new Mummy is set in the present and is not a horror play but rather an action-adventure tentpole with horror elements. It will also feature new characters and not rehash previous incarnations.
