The camera pans around to one of the hallways in the stadium. A stupendously dressed gentleman wearing a gray tuxedo suit and red tie appears with a microphone in hand. He is unfamiliar to everyone currently watching. The man’s intense green eyes stare into the camera and he smiles.
Chad Rogers: “Hello everybody! My name is Chad Rogers. I’m one of the newest interviewers here at XWA and I must say that I’m very excited to be here. My first official interview is with one of XWA’s latest superstars to join the roster, although he’s not unknown in the wrestling world. He used to wrestle for a company known as 2WWF where he was a two-time World Champion, a two-time Tag Team Champion and a one-time LionHeart Champion. Without any further ado, let me introduce you all to ‘The Ultimate Synner’… Michael Astin!”
The camera moves slightly to the left to now show both the wrestler and Chad Rogers.
Chad Rogers: “So Mich–”
Shade: “No.”
Chad Rogers looks somewhat confused.
Shade: “Michael Astin is dead. My name is Shade.”
Chad Rogers: “My apologies, Shade. It won’t happen again.” *Nervous chuckle* “So… Shade. How come you’ve decided to return to wrestling?”
Shade: “To inflict pain. Oh wait, that’s the generic answer of most of the starting wrestlers who decide they’re going to be assholes. Yeah, that’s not me.”
Chad Rogers: “Ah, so you want the crowd to like you?”
Shade: “Fuck no. I’m just not going to be the whole stereotypical bad guy who is here to ‘make a name of himself as a monster’. No, that’s fucking stupid, boring, and way overplayed. I’m here because… well in all honesty, Chad… I was bored out of my goddamn mind.”
Chad Rogers: “I’m a little bit lost here.”
Shade: “Chad, it’s quite simple. I… was… bored. Did they not teach you how to listen in interviewing school? There’s no mysterious interpretation. I was bored sitting around doing nothing. I heard that this place was expanding and that there are some former 2WWF wrestlers here. I want in on that action. I want to simply fuck shit up.”
Chad Rogers: “I see… well that makes –”
Shade: “And you know what else, Chad?! I’m quite pissed off right now. You see, when I joined… I was under the impression that I’d maybe fight some known people here. Or even possibly a former 2WWF wrestler. But no. Instead… I get a nobody. Riley something-or-other is his name. And I did my research on him. He’s somehow liked by these fans. All he does is want to be the best, pretty much. He wants to be a champion. REALLY?! I’m quite tired of that gimmick as well; a person who wants to be on top. That’s boring! If they really want that so badly, become a dom in bed and all your problems are solved.”
Chad Rogers: “Don’t you think you’re being a little bit harsh?”
Shade: “THE FUCK YOU SAY TO ME?! Harsh?! Harsh is the fact that I’m from a company that is easily better than this dump and I’m getting treated in a terrible way right from the start. They have me up against a jobber. THAT is harsh. THAT is a disgrace. THAT – my dear friend – is FUCKING BLASPHEMY! It’s not arrogance to say that I deserve to be treated better than this. It’s merely ignorant on the GM’s part to pit me against an insignificant piece of shit. But fine: feed me jobbers. I’ll annihilate them. This place is focused on the extreme, right? They’ll get it. They’ll get bloody wrestlers, face-down on the mat, waiting to be carried out by on-hand paramedics. Because this is bullshit. You don’t want to give me real competition? Fine. I’ll eliminate the competition given.”
Shade extends his arm out to Chad.
Shade: “Pleasure doing business with you, Chad.”
Chad Rogers: “The pleasure was all mine!”
Chad goes in for the handshake but Shade decides to kick Chad in the abdomen and lock in a tight front facelock. Shade then falls back and drives Chad’s head straight into the ground with a vicious DDT. He stands up and looks into the camera.
Shade: “Yeah, uh, cameraman, you might want to call someone. Believe me, concrete hurts like a bitch. Plus, he’s not moving. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have a match to go to.”
Shade exits the scene and the cameraman gets closer to Chad as the image starts to fade.
