M10. DC Hennig vs. Rellim | IC Tournement Match Empty
PostSubject: Re: M10. DC Hennig vs. Rellim | IC Tournement Match   M10. DC Hennig vs. Rellim | IC Tournement Match EmptySun Jul 20, 2014 2:43 pm

Rellim Strife makes his entrance to an overwhelming chorus of boos, clearly unwelcomed by this highly vocal Oklahoma City crowd. He looks upon the masses as one might look upon a flock of sheep, knowing them all to be sinners that should be clawing at the chance to follow him into salvation. Rellim strolls down the ramp and rolls into the ring, where he poses in front of the legions of miscreants as his music fades away. The boos and jeers from the live audience quickly vanish as DC Hennig's theme music blares through the intercom, and out of the curtain comes Mr. Phenomenal, with his new D-Volution cohort Carnage standing tall and mighty by his side. Hennig and Carnage make their way down the ramp to a tremendous ovation; however, the two men are not focused on how they're received by the crowd. Rather, their sights are set on Rellim, who poses a great threat to Hennig's health and his chances of winning the Intercontinental Championship. After both men are announced to the live audience and the dust settles from their entrances, Carnage settles in at ringside, the bell sounds, and this match is officially underway!

DING! DING! DING!

As DC Hennig and Rellim Strife stare each other down in the middle or the ring, Hennig begins to pace around his opponent as usual, but is taken aback by the curious look on Rellim's eerily expressive face. Either due to psychological mind-games or legitimate insanity, Rellim glares at Hennig as if he sees two men in front of him: one a filthy, inexcusable sinner, the other a lost soul capable of redemption. The result is a peculiar contortion of Rellim's face, in which his eyes give off a cold, adamantly angry stare, while at the same time flashing Hennig an occasional smile that a store clerk might use to comfort a child who has been separated from his mother. While the brief staredown lasts for only a few seconds, it feels like an eternity to Mr. Phenomenal as he stares into the nightmare-inducing face of his opponent. Hennig quickly snaps out of this trance though, remembering suddenly that he is standing in the ring with a potentially lethal opponent who is already creeping him the hell out mere seconds after the bell has rung, and decides to go on the offense rather than stand and fall prey to Rellim's equally inviting/menacing looks. Hennig lunges forward at Rellim, looking for the standard collar-and-elbow grapple, but the unpredictable Rellim ducks underneath Hennig and launches a very physical attack, raining down blow after blow with his forearm into the back and shoulders of Mr. Phenomenal, and no longer showing any signs of a welcoming smile. Rellim beats Hennig mercilessly until Hennig stumbles into the ropes, and continues to fire shots at Hennig until the referee's mandatory count hits 4. Hennig stands, his legs and feet inside the ring but his upper body behind the ropes, as Rellim calmly walks away from his opponent, exhibiting great confidence by willingly turning his back to Mr. Phenomenal. Both of Rellim's arms are outstretched and his nose stuck high into the air, parading himself around to DC Hennig and the XWA Universe as if they'd truly witnessed the Second Coming. Mr. Phenomenal, pretty well speechless, shoots a concerned and bewildered look to Carnage, who looks just as perplexed as Hennig, as the two quickly realize that they are truly in for a treat tonight.

CEDAR
"Well here we go folks, the bell has rung and this match has gotten off to an... intriguing start thus far. But let me ask you Joey, how does one deal with a personality as eccentric as "The Unmistakable" Rellim Strife?"

MILES
"Okay, here's what you do Teddy. Step one: lay down in a flat, horizontal position on the mat. Step two: stare blindly at the rafters, and don't move a muscle. Step three: let the "Son of God" get the pinfall and hope to hell he extends mercy upon your fucking miserable soul.

CEDAR
"Oh come on, please tell me you don't really buy into this garbage. Rellim Strife is an absolute nutjob with less sense than a busted piggy bank."

MILES
"Rellim's the kind of guy I can get behind. I just hope he has enough strength left after beating down DC Hennig so that he can still smite your lumpy ass."

Looking to work past his initial trepidation, DC Hennig decides to take action and enters the ring again, charging towards the arrogant Rellim, who has just soaked in an overwhelming chorus of boos before turning around to face Mr. Phenomenal once more. But before Hennig can mount any offense, Rellim swings just at the right moment and catches Hennig with an erratic Clothesline. Hennig hits the mat, but bounces up quickly in an effort to refuse Rellim the chance to capitalize. Unfortunately, the opportunistic Rellim follows up the clothesline with a stiff kick to Hennig's midsection, and an even stiffer Uppercut, understandably knocking Hennig back a couple of steps. Rellim again launches a physical assault on DC Hennig, throwing a series of Knife-Edge Chops that leave scattered splotches of pink all across Hennig's chest. Each chop forces Hennig to take a step or two backwards as he winces through the stinging pain, until he finds his back against the ropes, at which point Rellim grabs hold of Hennig's arm and launches him away with an Irish Whip. But Hennig, crafting a little defense, reverses the Irish Whip, looking to send Rellim towards the opposite side of the ring. And yet the cunning Rellim, rather than bolting to the ropes, keeps a firm hold on Hennig's arm, nearly pulling Hennig's arm out of its socket as he reverses the reversal, before pivoting his feet and plowing into DC Hennig with a viciously impactful Lariat. With Hennig down, Rellim goes for the early pinfall: 1... 2... kickout!

CEDAR
"And Rellim gains the advantage early on in this contest with a powerful clothesline! I tell ya, if DC Hennig's head weren't attached to his neck, it would probably be bouncing around in the nosebleeds right now!"

MILES
"No fuckin' joke Ted, I think that one probably knocked some of that bleach-blonde hair dye off his head. Maybe a hit like that will knock some goddamn sense into this so-called "Mr. Phenomenal, show him what a real Phenom is capable of."

CEDAR
"I think I like you better when you hate both competitors equally."

Rellim takes a moment to relish his effective tactics, clearly pleased at the sight of a slightly loopy DC Hennig, but wastes little time as he grabs hold of Hennig's arm and hoists him back up onto his feet. Hennig, a bit shaken after such a dynamic lariat, is unable to defend himself as Rellim kicks him in the stomach, then hooks his arm and lifts him vertically into the air. Showcasing impressive strength, Rellim walks a few steps forward while keeping Hennig steady and upside down, then drops him up and over the top rope, with Hennig's feet planting firmly on the ring apron. Hennig looks to surprise his thus-dominant opponent and draws his arm back to swing, but Rellim, his plan already in motion, ducks and thrusts his shoulder into Hennig's abdomen, knocking the wind out of Mr. Phenomenal and causing him to double over, between the top and middle ropes. This plays perfectly into Rellim's course of action, as he locks his arm around Hennig's neck and pulls him up off the apron to where his feet are resting on the middle rope, and his head is trapped under Rellim's arm. Before DC Hennig can even ponder how he got in such a predicament, though, Rellim swings his entire body around and plants Mr. Phenomenal with a brutalizing Rope-Assisted Swinging Neckbreaker, crashing Hennig into the mat in a dizzying daze. Hennig remains fairly close to the ropes, so much so that Rellim grabs hold of Hennig's legs and attempts to drag him away from them. Hennig desperately grabs hold of the bottom rope, however, perhaps resembling a cat on a poster that reads "HANG IN THERE," refusing Rellim the chance to go for the pin. The devious Rellim, though, sees a more lucrative opportunity, kicking Hennig directly in the sternum while holding onto his legs. With Hennig's head precariously positioned underneath the bottom rope, Rellim latches onto both of Mr. Phenomenal's phenomenal calves, then simply falls backward, delivering a Catapult that sends Hennig's throat crashing into the unforgiving rope before smacking his head off the edge of the canvas. A collective sigh can nearly be felt in the arena as the XWA Universe winces along with the reeling DC Hennig.

CEDAR
"It would appear that Rellim is focusing the majority of his offense on the head and neck of "Mr. Phenomenal" here tonight. One can only imagine what is going through the mind of that deranged S.O.B."

MILES
"He's one step ahead, Teddy boy. He knows what DC Hennig is gonna do before DC Hennig knows what DC Hennig is gonna do. Shit, he wouldn't be much of a savior if he couldn't think quicker than that fucking imbecile, right?"

CEDAR
"The so-called "Son of Gawd" has been impressive thus far, I'll concede to that Joey. Rellim has been rather dominant in his victories over C5 Ion, Jason Angel, and Conan Royal to earn his spot at the top of the leaderboards of this Intercontinental Championship tournament, and if he keeps this up, he could very well secure another victory, as XWA Vendetta continues!"

After a very brief commercial break from the fine sponsors of XWA, the live feed from the Chesapeake Energy Arena returns to the image of DC Hennig having his supply of sweet Oklahoma City barbeque-sauce-infused air cut off by the bulging bicep of Rellim Strife, who wrenches on Hennig's neck with an Inverted Facelock. Rellim is applying the hold while on his knees, while DC Hennig is almost sitting on the mat, clawing at Rellim's arm in desperation as he struggles to draw another breath. The live audience is extremely vocal in their support for Mr. Phenomenal, a chorus of "Let's go Hen-nig! *clap clap clap-clap-clap*" reverberating throughout the sold-out arena. Having officially lost the ability to inhale, DC Hennig feeds off the energy of his thousands of fans to slowly work his way back onto his feet, while still at the mercy of his merciless opponent. But just as DC Hennig finds himself back on his feet, Rellim Strife, in the blink of an eye, slams him back down onto the canvas, flattening his opponent with a well-executed Inverted DDT. Rellim looks around at the XWA Universe, delighting in their misfortune. The cheerful enthusiasm of the live audience pops like a balloon, swelling up and up and up, only to end with an exacerbated sigh of disappointment as Rellim goes for the cover: 1... 2... Hennig narrowly avoids defeat with a kickout! The kickout drives the fans in attendance into a frenzy, which along with Hennig's kickout elicits a surprised look on the face of the "Unmistakable" Rellim, who appears to be mistaken in his confidence of a victory seconds ago. Rellim stands angrily, while shouting obscenities and venting his frustrations at the referee, then leaps high into the air, achieving a remarkable vertical before crashing his elbow into the chest of his opponent with a Standing Elbow Drop. Before DC can even fondly reminisce about the good ol' days when breathing was less difficult, Rellim springs up onto his feet, and drops another Standing Elbow, as profoundly effective and athletic as the last. Rellim quickly springs onto his feet once again and is just about to jump into the air, before his wandering eye takes note of the turnbuckles a few yards away. Rellim's eyes light up and he dons an insidiously cunning smirk as he walks towards the corner of the ring, the gears in his methodical head turning smoothly along the way.

CEDAR
"Looks like Rellim may be looking for some high-risk, high-reward offense here. But wait a minute, couldn't he just ride on a cloud and ascend to the top turnbuckle? He is the Son of --"

MILES
"Don't you fuckin' dare Ted. Don't even try to be remotely entertaining with shitty quips like that. Stick to what you know and call the fucking match."

Rellim does not ride upon a cloud, but does indeed climb to the top turnbuckle, where he stands and looks out among the live audience, who he undoubtedly views as a crowd of lost souls begging for his redemption. Rellim screams "Praise me!" as he stretches his arms outwards, which of course leads to a unanimously negative response from the XWA Universe. Rellim regains his focus on DC Hennig, though, and sets his sights on his opponent, then springboards off the top ropes, looking to land a much more devastating elbow drop onto the fallen Mr. Phenomenal. But Rellim's self-absorption proves to be his demise, as the time he spent demanding praise allows Hennig the chance to regain his composure and roll out of harm's way. Rellim crashes to the mat, the thunderous boom of his crash-and-burn barely audible over the overwhelming ovation from the live audience, which grows even louder as DC Hennig begins to show signs of life once more. Hennig rushes onto his feet, staggering a bit due to the sudden turn of events, but knows he could turn this thing around here and now. As soon as Rellim rises to an upright position, Hennig makes a mad dash towards his opponent and leaps into the air, crashing the full weight of his body down onto Rellim's neck and chest with a high-altitude Leaping Leg Lariat! At ringside, Carnage plants a thunderous fist into the mat, before echoing an even louder "YES!", clearly pumped up at the resurgence of Mr. Phenomenal in this contest. Carnage's optimism is reciprocated by the tens of thousands of fans in attendance, and by DC Hennig, who, seated on the mat, runs his hand through his hair as he plots out his next tactical maneuver.

CEDAR
"And here we go, "Mr. Phenomenal" looking to bounce back after an inauspicious start here tonight."

MILES
"If you think DC Hennig is in the clear now, you're a bigger fucking moron than I thought. And I didn't think that was possible."

CEDAR
"DC Hennig has plenty to motivate him here tonight, Joey. His loss at Vendetta 83 to Greg Samuel, his lower ranking in the Intercontinental Championship tournament... tonight could be a night for Hennig to turn it all around, and it may have just begun before our very eyes."

Although the move was effective, the leg lariat does not keep Rellim down for an extended amount of time, being otherwise fresh, and he begins to rise to his feet soon afterwards. Hennig meets Rellim on his way up, though, with a few aggressive right hands, dazing Rellim just long enough for Hennig to take a step back, then leap and swing his leg around until the tip of his boot catches the temple of Rellim's inflated cranium with a picture-perfect Step-Up Enzuiguri. Rellim's eyes glaze over a bit as he falls to one knee, his brain attempting to turn the lights off while his body instinctively fights the urge to fall over. Hennig's takes advantage of his prone condition, though, and tucks Rellim's jaw underneath Hennig's shoulder, then falls to a sitting position, delivering a quick and productive Sitout Shoulder Jawbreaker, knocking Rellim down a bit further into a sitting position. Hennig scrambles to his feet, his mind working quicker than his legs, as he fervently makes an attempt to hold firm on his newfound advantage. With Rellim seated and slightly disoriented on the mat, Hennig stumbles behind Rellim, then somersaults forward overtop his opponent while at the same time grabbing onto the back of Rellim's head. The result sends Rellim's nose and chin colliding into the top of Hennig's scull, as Mr. Phenomenal completes a subtle yet stunning Rolling Neck Snap, sending Rellim flat onto his back on the mat. In what can either be chalked up as predetermined fate, or unbelievable luck, Rellim is lying merely a foot away from the corner of the ring, and DC Hennig takes note of this circumstance, a certain glimmer showing in his eye as his most loyal fans can anticipate his next attack. True to form, Hennig wanders to the opposite corner of the ring, then dashes towards Rellim. When he reaches the corner, Hennig grabs hold of either side of the top rope and leaps into the air, exhibiting admirable upper body strength as he holds himself vertically and upside down above his stationary opponent. As hundreds of camera flashes illuminate the background behind him, DC Hennig suddenly crashes down onto Rellim, delivering his signature Outer Limitz Elbow to the incredible adoration of the XWA Universe. Hennig holds his head for a bit, the rush of blood from the vertical handstand contributing to the headache sustained at the hands of Rellim, but aside from that, Mr. Phenomenal is in rather good spirits as his comeback seems to be turning up successful.

CEDAR
"Mr. Phenomenal is unleashing on "The Second Coming!" Perhaps DC Hennig has a bit more left in the tank than you had thought, Joey!"

MILES
"Yeah, or maybe this asshole is pulling out all the stops just to try to prolong the inevitable, Ted. You mark my words, when "The Son of God" wants this match to end, this match will end."

DC Hennig takes a moment to regain his composure, having now stifled Rellim enough to earn that luxury of a few seconds of downtime. But knowing he doesn't have much time to waste, along with the adrenaline surging through his veins, Hennig picks himself back up and does the same to Rellim, propping him up on his feet before whipping him towards the turnbuckles. Rellim crashes into the corner of the ring, and DC Hennig charges hurriedly speeds towards his opponent, but Rellim sidesteps Hennig just as soon as he reaches that corner of the ring. Having too much momentum to recalculate, Hennig inadvertently dives through the top and middle turnbuckles, his shoulder making the brutal acquaintance of the steel ring post. Hennig grimaces in pain as he removes himself from the corner of the ring, and turns around just in time to be met by a flawless Exploder Suplex from his opponent! Hennig is thrown high into the air, and smashes onto the mat with quite an impact, so much so that the referee focuses his full attention on the fallen Mr. Phenomenal. Seizing this rare opportunity, Rellim takes a few deep, heavy breaths, shaking off a few cobwebs, and takes advantage of the referee's back being turned as he strides to the corner of the ring, and removes the turnbuckle padding from the top turnbuckle. Then, in an ultimate show of disrespect, Rellim reaches over the top rope and tosses the turnbuckle padding at Carnage, hitting him squarely in the face. Of course, turnbuckle padding wouldn't hurt the behemoth of a man, but the show of blatant douchebaggery is enough to turn the once cheerful giant into an enraged one. Carnage hops onto the ring apron, looking to get his hands on the retreating Rellim, but the referee stops Carnage from entering the ring, pleading with him that DC Hennig will face disqualification if he gets involved. While Carnage argues with the referee, the ever-strategic Rellim picks DC Hennig up off the mat, and ominously eyes the dangerous trap he has set for his phenomenal nemesis.

CEDAR
"Oh my, it looks like Rellim has some evil intentions in mind, illegally removing that stuffing and exposing that bare, harmful turnbuckle."

MILES
"Hennig poked the bear, Ted. He poked the menacing, lethal, all-knowing bear... a bear that happens to... errrr, a bear that's also... uhhhhh... well he's a bear, but he's also capable of redeeming us of our sins, being the son of God... which --"

CEDAR
"You really have a way with words, Joey."

MILES
"Fuck off, Ted."

Rellim looks eager, almost obsessive, in using the exposed turnbuckle to his advantage, eyeing it like a man deranged as he picks DC Hennig up onto his feet. Rellim grabs Hennig's forearm, then delivers a very high-velocity Irish Whip, which unfortunately for Hennig is full of too much force to stop, or even slow down, as Mr. Phenomenal makes an incredibly ferocious encounter with the unforgiving turnbuckle. A surge of warm pain shoots up the spinal column of DC Hennig, and is only worsened by the sudden appearance of Rellim, who distracts Hennig from the pain momentarily as he soars through the air and smacks directly into him with a Corner Splash! Rellim takes a few steps back, highly amused by the pain he is causing this unsaved transgressor, and again dashes towards Hennig, delivering another Corner Splash, adding more back pain to Hennig's condition and a pack of Icy-Hot pain relievers to his shopping list. Met with a strong and vocal chorus of boos, Rellim looks out amongst the crowd of sinners and hauntingly mouths the words "It's too late for him; it's not too late for you." As DC Hennig attempts to distance himself from the corner of the ring, Rellim this time walks towards his opponent and grabs a handful of DC Hennig's hair, which sadly is just long enough for Rellim to maintain a firm grasp as he smacks Hennig's skull into the turnbuckle. The referee breaks up this clearly illegal tactic only a couple of head-bangs in, but not before a tiny gash opens up just beneath Hennig's hairline. Hennig is certainly not wearing a crimson mask, but a small trickle of blood seeps through the cut to the absolute amusement of "The Unmistakable" Rellim. Hennig, clearly dazed, is pretty well defenseless as Rellim grabs hold of his legs and boosts him up onto the top turnbuckle. Rellim climbs the turnbuckles himself, until both men are perched high atop the ring, as a crowd of over ten thousands wide-eyed XWA fans collectively scoot to the edge of their seats to see what will unfold next.

CEDAR
"Well folks it looks like DC Hennig is busted open, and -- oh my gawwwd, I don't like the looks of this!"

MILES
"I never, ever thought I'd steal a line from you Ted, but fuck it: thanks for coming, DC Hennig!"

The worried expressions on the faces of the live audience are, for now, hidden by the multitude of cameras and cell phones looking to document what could very well be the conclusion of this match-up. Both men are standing upright on the top turnbuckle, with neither holding a particularly firm footing, a dangerous predicament that will certainly end in even more peril as Rellim hooks Hennig's arm, ready to send his opponent straight to obscurity. But on a whim, DC Hennig fights back with his free arm, delivering a series of quick, stiff punches into the ribcage of Rellim Strife, each punch eliciting a larger and larger optimistic reaction from the XWA Universe. By the time Hennig hits his fourth or fifth blow, the crowd is ecstatic as Rellim releases Hennig's arm, freeing up his right hand to deliver even more powerful punches, this time into the face of the so-called redeemer. Hennig drives enough strikes into Rellim's face to open a slim window of opportunity, and as Rellim appears to stagger treacherously on the top turnbuckle, Hennig gives Rellim one final shot to the mid-section, causing him to double over in pain. Hennig then takes a deep-breath, and somersaults over his opponent, hooking Rellim's legs and forcing him onto the mat with an equalizing Sunset Flip Powerbomb! The sounds of Rellim's body driven into the canvas acts almost as a switch to the live audience, who pops in unison at Hennig's highly effective, completely unorthodox maneuver! Rellim takes the brunt of the damage on his head and neck, though, the back of his head smacking the mat with cringe-worthy impact, causing major whiplash to the "Son of God." DC Hennig slumps into the corner of the ring, catching his breath and thanking his lucky stars that that didn't end the way it could have.

CEDAR
"My word, what an innovative maneuver by "Mr. Phenomenal!" He could very well have this one here, Joey!"

MILES
"What you call innovation, I call desperation. Don't count Rellim out of this yet, Cedar! He's capable of miracles that neither of us can comprehend, you fucking parasite!"

While a pinfall attempt would likely be a worthwhile endeavor, DC Hennig is never one to shy away from a phenomenal finish. Hennig wipes the lone trail of blood off his forehead, the sweat from his hand stinging the open wound slightly as the blood soaks into his wrist tape, then wanders over to Rellim, who is stirring but otherwise motionless on the mat. Hennig picks Rellim up, a well-accomplished feat considering Mr. Phenomenal is quite woozy himself, and kicks him in the abdomen, then hooks Rellim's arm and signals for his finishing maneuver, the Phenomeplex! Hennig hooks Rellim's leg and hoists him high above his head, but before he has a chance to drop him squarely on the top of his head, Rellim shifts his weight and counters, landing on his feet behind DC Hennig. Out of pure duplicity, Rellim grabs hold of Hennig's hair again and quickly leads him to the nearby exposed turnbuckle, looking to crush his skull furthermore and add to that minuscule wound. But before he can drive Hennig face-first into the turnbuckle, DC props his leg up and stops the attack, then swings a wild elbow into Rellim's sternum, causing him to let go of his hair. Rellim turns his back to Hennig as he holds his arm to his sternum, and Hennig follows up his reversal by attempting a Belly-to-Back Suplex. He lifts Rellim into the air, but once again, Rellim counters, rolling backwards and landing on his feet behind Mr. Phenomenal. With Hennig's back turned to him now, Rellim draws up enough fortitude to run and leap over Hennig, attempting to level his crafty opponent with a Fame Asser. But Hennig steps back just in the nick of time, avoiding Rellim's attack as the "Son of God" lands on his feet in front of him, completing only a leapfrog over DC Hennig. Rellim turns to face Mr. Phenomenal, who leaps into the air and attempts to connect with another Enzuiguri, but Rellim ducks underneath, causing Hennig to flop and land on his belly on the mat. Finally, Rellim has opened up a potentially lethal opportunity, and as Hennig quickly picks himself up of the mat so as not to give up the advantage, Rellim steps behind him and begins to lock in a Full Nelson.

CEDAR
"Back and forth, back and forth, who's gonna come out on top here tonight with points in the Intercontinental Championship tournament?"

MILES
"I think we all know the answer to that Ted: it's about to be "The End" for DC Hennig!"[/center]

Indeed, Rellim is setting up for his finishing Full Nelson Facebuster, which he neurotically refers to as The End. But with the full support of the live audience, of Carnage at ringside, and of millions of fans watching live across the world, DC Hennig puts up quite a struggle as Rellim attempts to lock in the Full Nelson. After such a nail-biting series of reversals, the fans are fired up, exhilarated by the fast-paced action and pleading with DC Hennig not to fall prey to Rellim. Rellim is mere inches away from clasping his fingers and securing the hold, but in a blast of strength, Hennig powers out, swinging both of his arms downward as if he were busting out of rusted chains and shackles. DC Hennig quickly swings behind Rellim and wraps his arms around Rellim's abdomen. Mr. Phenomenal observes that both men are now facing the exposed turnbuckle, and decides to give "The Second Coming" a taste of his own medicine. With Hennig behind Rellim, arms firmly grasped around him, Hennig charges forward, taking Rellim along with him, until Rellim is driver sternum-first into the steel turnbuckle. Caught between the unrelenting turnbuckle and the full weight and momentum of DC Hennig, every last breath of air is forcefully removed from Rellim's lungs, the color almost visibly draining from his face. Having successfully disorienting his opponent, the wind fully knocked out of him, Hennig does not break free of his hold on Rellim's mid-section as he instantaneously rolls backwards, again sending Rellim along for the ride. Rellim rolls onto his shoulders, while DC Hennig rolls backwards on top of him, and the referee slides into position to count the roll-up!

1!

The live Oklahoma City audience stands, almost in unison, their eyes wide and their elation radiating from their overjoyed expressions as the roll-up attempt catches them almost as surprisingly as it has Rellim Strife.

2!

Rellim only just realizes the pinfall attempt at 2 and a half seconds, and struggles to lift DC Hennig up off of him to break the pinfall. Carnage is leaned over the apron, almost halfway inside the ring, as he looks on eagerly cheering his D-Volution ally. What only amounts to three seconds feels like an eternity, but to the surprise of the XWA Universe, DC Hennig, and especially Rellim Strife...

3!

DING! DING! DING!

WATTS
"Here is your winner, "Mr. Phenomenal" D! C! Henniiiiiiiiiiiiiiig!"

Hennig springs off of Rellim Strife like a jack-in-the-box, a look of combined relief and excitement on his face as he relishes in the victorious roll-up. Rellim Strife is visibly stunned, flaring his nostrils, gritting his teeth, and boiling the blood in his veins, refusing to accept that he was just defeated in such an unpredictable fashion. The referee helps DC Hennig to his feet and raises his arm high above his head in victory, as a tiny stream of blood once again trickles along the forehead of the otherwise triumphant Mr. Phenomenal.

MILES
"Are you fucking kidding me? This is a goddamn outrage! That should have been a disqualification!"

CEDAR
"How do you like that, Joey? Rellim Strife's own illegal tactics, the very strategy that busted DC Hennig open here tonight, proved to be his downfall in this contest. What a well-deserved, well-fought victory for Mr. Phenomenal, who secures himself 3 points in the Intercontinental Champio -- oh what the hell is this?"

As DC Hennig stands victoriously to the delight of the XWA Universe, the celebratory occasion is dramatically cut short as Rellim Strife clubs DC Hennig in the back of the head with his forearm, sending Mr. Phenomenal tumbling down to the mat below. Amidst a whirlwind of massive boos and jeers, a furious Rellim unleashes his full rage onto Hennig, driving the sole of his boot repeatedly into the chest and ribs of DC Hennig, clearly upset by having been defeated with a roll-up. Rellim screams and shouts as he stomps a mudhole in DC Hennig, tossing out phrases such as "Irredeemable scum!" and "Filthy ingrate" to the man who, in his eyes, is now forever hopeless in terms of salvation. As Rellim attempts to permanently sink the chest cavity of DC Hennig, the referee steps into the fray in a hopeless attempt to pacify the outraged "Son of God," only to find himself victim to Rellim's fury as he swings a vicious elbow into the referee's face, swatting him like a pestering fly. Rellim feels another hand on his shoulder and swings his elbow once more, only this time to find it hitting the equivalent of a brick wall. Rellim turns around, and is forced to crane his neck upwards as the towering Carnage, who wastes no time in kicking Rellim directly in the gut, and in one single swoop hoists Rellim up into the air, and delivering an annihilating Jackknife Powerbomb, sending the "Son of God" straight to oblivion! Rellim lies motionless on the mat, each of his limbs splayed out on the canvas, as the crowd roars in their appreciation and support of Carnage, who helps DC Hennig back onto his feet. "Car-nage! Car-nage! Car-nage!" rides through the Chesapeake Energy Arena like a tidal wave, as this time the D-Volution theme music blasts throughout the arena.

CEDAR
"DC Hennig has only been in D-Volution for a week, but it appears he and "Total" Carnage are as thick as thieves. If there was any doubt as to how "Mr. Phenomenal" would be accepted into one of the most controversial groups this industry has ever seen, I believe those doubts has been dispelled."

MILES
"Bull. Shit. Absolute fucking bullshit. That giant buffoon had no business being in that ring, or at ringside, or anywhere near the "Son of God!"

CEDAR
"Well I beg to differ. And with DC Hennig officially on board with D-Volution, I'd expect to see even more "Carnage" in their future!"

MILES
"Didn't I already tell you enough with the fucking quips? You're such a --"

CEDAR
"But there ya have it folks, DC Hennig has advanced in the Intercontinental Championship tournament. But with only a couple of weeks to go, will he be able to bounce back in the tourney in time for Revolutionary Wars, when we will crown the new champion? Stay tuned folks, and stay tuned to Vendetta tonight, where in our main event, David Michaels will go toe-to-toe with Jared Jerusalem. All that and more, as XWA Vendetta continues!"

DC Hennig and Carnage exit the ring and begin to walk up the ramp, Hennig battered and shaken from such a vicious attack from Rellim Strife, who remains incapacitated in the ring. Hennig leans a bit on Carnage for support as the two walk up the ramp, but regardless of the beatdown, Hennig and Carnage turn and raise their arms victoriously, eliciting a massive reaction from the live audience. While the ovation from the XWA Universe is unceasing, the camera feed begins to fade to black as XWA Vendetta takes a quick break for a word from our sponsors.

Err... It irritates the hell out of me to have to do this. But alas, I cannot show. I just had a lot shit got put on my plate out of nowhere, that I have take all day to get ready for and I'll be gone for ten days. I'm really sorry to Mick, I know how much it sucks to put so much effort in a match and have the opponent no show.

Right now I think its better for me to go on a LOA from the fed. I thought I would have enough time for it, but I was mistaken. Once again I apologize the inconvenience.
