Robert Downey Jr is featured in a new trailer for the legal drama The Judge.

The Judge casts Downey Jr as brash lawyer Hank Palmer, who returns to his hometown to attend the funeral of his mother.



Hank is stunned when his estranged father (Robert Duvall) is arrested after the funeral on suspicion of murder.

The all-star cast also includes Vera Farmiga, Vincent D'Onofrio, Leighton Meester and Billy Bob Thornton.

The Avengers: Age of Ultron actor's wife Susan Downey is producing The Judge, while David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) directs.

The Judge opens on October 10 in the US and on October 24 in the UK.
