As we previously noted, WWE NXT newcomer Drake Younger, who is using his real name, Drake Wuertz in NXT, is working for the company as a referee as opposed to a wrestler.
The reason for this, according to The Wrestling Observer, is because when Younger initially had a tryout with WWE he was told afterwards that the company is not currently looking for cruiserweight sized wrestlers, so he accepted a referee deal instead.
As a general rule, it's being said WWE is not currently looking for Cruiserweight sized wrestlers as their roster is full of them, but that doesn't mean Younger can't transition to a wrestling role at some point.
Hogan Comments on Smackdown Appearance
