A trademark has been filed for something called Mirror's Edge Catalyst.
The filing was made with the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market by London law firm J A Kemp.
Mirror's Edge Catalyst is described as computer game software in the filing, which also mentions online play and distribution.
Furthermore, Electronic Arts has registered a Mirror's Edge Catalyst web domain, although the site isn't operational at the time of writing.
NeoGAF users have speculated that Mirror's Edge Catalyst could be a mobile tie-in for the previously announced Mirror's Edge 2.
However, it could also be another name for the project, which has barely been seen since last year.
We do know that Mirror's Edge 2 is scheduled to launch next spring, and is set to "revolutionise the action-adventure genre with its stunning first-person gameplay".
The game will make tweaks and changes to first-person combat, and will feature refined movement and multiple routes through levels.
Whatever Mirror's Edge Catalyst turns out to be, we should find out more at next week's E3 gaming expo.
