Dolph Ziggler defeated Randy Orton clean in the main event of yesterday’s WWE live event in British Columbia. There have been rumors and some speculation that Orton was being punished or was in “the dog house” after insulting a fan on social media this week. However, there is apparently no truth to said rumors, and it was done simply because the top babyface almost always goes over for live events. With Roman Reigns – who had been advertised to face Orton in Canada – accompanying the international crew in Australia, and with Dean Ambrose wrapped up in a rivalry with Seth Rollins, Dolph Ziggler was the top available babyface working the show. He will also be challenging The Miz for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam, so it doesn’t hurt for Ziggler to be seen as a top guy right now.

Update: Rock’s Mom in Car Accident

In an update from an earlier story about Dwayne Johnson’s mother being involved in a head-on collision with a drunk driver, Dave Meltzer believes the incident actually took place over a week ago on August 1st. The woman at fault was in fact drunk, and reportedly had a suspended driver’s licence and was attempting to flee from police, when she blew through an intersection and crashed into Ata Johnson and her niece, WWE developmental talent Lina.

Ziggler went over Orton clean? Good

According to F4WOnline.com, the reason why Randy Orton lost this past weekend against Dolph Ziggler was NOT because of his recent social media blunder, where he called out a fan and calling her “Miss Piggy.”

Randy Orton lost against Dolph Ziggler in Yakima, Washington yesterday because WWE enforces the rule at live events that babyfaces go over in the main events. Randy Orton was slated to face Roman Reigns, but Reigns was in Australia.

WWE decided to insert Dolph Ziggler into the main event due to his popularity and they enforced their own rule even more. Since they substituted for Reigns, they felt it was a must that Dolph Ziggler go over and send the fans home happy.

Hope Rock's mother and Lina are alright, that's terrible news.

Yay for Dolph, though, I guess? I just feel like it's not going to turn into anything since he's in the IC title picture.

I saw Rock's post about it on FB and he was all mad. He said "at first, I thought about going after the person who did this and punishing them in the most vile way possible" or something like that. I imagine Rock going after you is horrifying.
