M3 | Danny Diamond vs. James Carlisle Empty

Before the match gets into the action, Danny extends his hand out for a handshake, which James quickly accepts. Following the handshake, the two men begin circling one another. They lunch forward, James looking for a Collar-and-Elbow Tie-Up, but Danny having other plans, sliding around his opponent and applying a Waist Lock. It doesn't take Carlisle long to fight his way out of this predicament, drilling his elbow into the side of Danny's head before spinning around and transitioning into a Front Facelock. He cranks on the neck of the Englishman, as Danny tries to find a way out of it, eventually wrapping his arms around his opponent's body and pulling him into a beautifully-executed bridging Northern Lights Suplex! Before the referee could even get down to make the count, however, James kicks out. The two men shoot back to their feet and run at one another, Danny taking James down with a Clothesline. "The Calculator" rebounds back to his feet and, this time, he's the one taking Diamond down with a Clothesline. Now it's Danny's turn to get back to his feet, where he instantly goes for a Dropkick, James thinking the same thing and both competitors' feet clashing before they drop to the canvas. They sprint back up to their feet and stare each other down, the audience applauding the early back and forth.

The two men grin at one another, clearly impressed with the other in the early going of this contest. They begin to circle again, but quickly step in, this time both going for the Collar-and-Elbow Tie-Up. It's James whom takes the initiative to transition into something first, coming up with a Standing Wrist Lock. Danny shortly after swings under his opponent's arm, reversing the pressure of the hold and applying his own Standing Wrist Lock. After keeping James immobilized for a few seconds, Danny drills him in the elbow with his own elbow, before spinning under his arm and yanking him, by the hand, down to the canvas, targeting the shoulder of his opponent. He then begins reigning down stomps on the elbow and shoulder of Carlisle, trying to weaken his arm as much as possible while the match is still young. The former World Heavyweight Champion begins pulling James back to his feet, when the smaller wrestler suddenly strikes with an elbow shot aimed at the jaw of Danny. This sends the Englishman reeling backwards, until he regains his composure. He begins walking back towards Carlisle, but the speedy Australian catches him with a Spinning Heel Kick that knocks Diamond down. James quickly shoots on top of him for the cover, hooking one of Danny's two legs, but "The Prized Gem" uses the free leg to kick out.

James pulls Danny back to his feet and lights his chest up with a few Knife Edge Chops, garnering a loud "WOO" from the audience for every chop that finds its mark. Danny, having had quite enough of that, catches one of the attempted shots from Carlisle, responding with a very stiff right-arm European Uppercut. He follows this up with a left-arm European Uppercut and then one with his right arm again, continuing to land shot after shot, switching between arms as he does so. Whilst Danny does this, James groggily stumbles backwards with each hit, before his back is to the corner of the ring. With his opponent now backed into the turnbuckle, Danny leaps up, connecting with an Enzuigiri, but not one aimed at the head of the opponent. Rather, his Enzuigiri drills the adversary in the shoulder of the same arm Danny was going after earlier. Danny pulls James out of the corner with an Irish Whip, aiming him at the opposing corner of the ring. James attempts to use his speed to reverse, by somewhat hand standing atop the turnbuckle, but he has trouble with this due to the pain in his arm and he crashes face-first into the top turnbuckle. James stumbles backwards, straight into Danny, whom trips him and applies his modified Crossface finisher, known to some as the LeBell or Yes Lock, but known to Diamond fans as the Silencer!

James panics, not sure how he's going to get out of this predicament. It certainly wouldn't be good for him right now to tap out this early in a match, but his shoulder is in tremendous pain and that, along with his neck, is what this arm-trapping maneuver focuses on. Carlisle looks around, as far as his eyes will let him due to being unable to turn his head. He realizes he stumbled quite a bit away from the ropes, so a rope break isn't likely unless he can somehow manage to pull himself to the ropes from where he is. Not only is this move in such an awkward position that it's hard to drag yourself anywhere, but Danny is a bit heavier than James and "The Evil Genius" also has to deal with the tremendous pain he's feeling right now. James begins pulling himself towards the ropes, looking to get the break, but as Danny starts feeling himself move, he wrenches harder and harder on the head of his adversary. Carlisle is only able to make it a few inches before the pain becomes unbearable and he taps out, giving the win to his opponent.

[Couldn't get into it this week. Plus it's always questionable whether or not Caine will show.]

The bell rings and almost immediately the mind of the newcomer “Mentalist” begins to work, rushing XWA’s “Prized Gem” with a right hand, knocking the Englishman backwards in surprise.  Just as quickly as he’d laid the first blow, Carlisle connects with a swift but effective blow, staggering Diamond and putting him exactly where he needs him, grabbing Danny and using the ropes behind him as a slingshot device to throw Danny across the ring with an irish whip, Diamond runs the course to bounce back, putting his own step into his runaway pace however Carlisle bulldozes him flat with an immense shoulder block!

Joey Miles
“You ANGRY little man?!!”
Ted Cedar
“Momentum, Joey… momentum!!”

Carlisle, a man who excels in quick-thinking, skids on his heels then dashes left into the ring ropes, yet Danny recovers and picks himself up, looking to hook Carlisle up with a hip-toss, only Carlisle power-slides on his knees right through the Englishman’s legs, immediately kicking Danny in the gut and setting him up for a lightning-quick Northern Lights Suplex, delivering the goods and making the move look impactful.  The show goes on from there though, as Carlisle heaves Danny up into a second Northern Lights Suplex!  The vicious grace of the aptly-named “Numbers Crunchers” suplexes brings the arena to their feet, Carlisle looking to complete his deadly sequence yet Diamond breaks free of his rolling prison to blast the left side of Carlisle’s face with his devastating PRECISION Yakuza Kick, falling on James with the cover!

Ted Cedar
“OHHH!  HELLO!!”

Joey Miles
“Well THAT was unexpected…”

Ted Cedar
“Diamond covers him!!”

1!!
2!!

Able to kick out, Carlisle staggers to his feet, still shaking off the kick’s daze, Diamond picks himself up with a visible wince, perhaps caused by the third dramatic Numbers Cruncher Suplex, surviving Suplex number three yet still very much feeling its two brothers.  The crowd are simply livid, thoroughly entertained and supplying the banquet of atmosphere for these two men to feed from, Carlisle recovers faster, and immediately kicks danny in the gut, stumbling over to the turnbuckle and ascending up each turnbuckle one foot after the other, taking a much-needed moment to recover before stabilizing himself as Danny plodders where he needs him, jumping for a hurricanrana yet Danny catches the two hundred pounder up, countering with a guttural roar as he heaves him high and charges at the corner for a powerbomb, yet Carlisle weasels out, grabbing the ropes with both arms to indeed take some of the impact yet heave himself back up into the air dramatically, with his legs still snaked around Danny’s neck!

Joey Miles
“Who is this guy, Orakniman?!”
Ted Cedar
“Very well done maneuver by Carlisle, saving himself if you will!!”
Joey Miles
“Only nerds save themselves Teddy!?!”

Carlisle dramatically swings upward on the ropes, building momentum before twisting for a hurricanrana only the clever Diamond rolls with the motion, becoming something of a travel buddy rather than a hapless victim, rolling onto the mat with Carlisle who crashes awkwardly on his chest, the perfect position for Diamond to fold Carlisle’s leg up in a heartbeat and lock in his devastating   No Leaf Clover, effectively tipping Carlisle on his head! In a very painful looking fashion.  The crowd applauds as Carlisle screams into the air, virtually upside down, contemplating the tap-out yet forcing himself to reach the ring ropes, contorting his very body in the process yet just grabbing the ropes all the same.  Diamond releases Carlisle voluntarily, picking his moment as Carlisle rises, unsteadily, rushing James with a stiff kick to the back, snatching Carlisle up into the Rubix Swinging Cutter, Carlisle rolls it into Change Raising, the very same move! Not to be outdone with his own moveset, Diamond recaptures Carlisle from behind, seemingly winning the argument of the Cross-Rhodes type move only Carlisle drops flat on his back, grabbing hold of Diamonds arm and flipping him to the mat, snaking his leg around his arm with a wicked Crucifix Armbar, Diamond grabs the ropes quickly, picking himself up right into an out of nowhere Michinoku Driver II he calls Calculated Murder!

Ding Ding Ding!!!

Ted Cedar
“No… what??!”
Joey Miles
“What the hell?? Bullshit!

And the show goes on.
