Jason Momoa will play Aquaman in 'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice'.
The 'Game of Thrones' actor has reportedly signed up for the role of the aquatic superhero in the upcoming film based on characters from DC Comics, according to HitFix.com.
Rumours of his casting first emerged last year when Momoa was said to be in talks with director Zack Snyder and it's now been confirmed that he will take on the character that first appeared in the comics in 1941 and is a founding member of the ''Justice League of America''.
'Man of Steel' star Henry Cavill will reprise his role as Superman while Ben Affleck is set to star as Batman and Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman.
Jesse Eisenberg will also appear in the film as Lex Luthor alongside Jeremy Irons as Alfred and Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane will also revisit their characters from 'Man of Steel'.
Snyder is directing from a script by Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer while Charles Roven and Deborah Snyder will produce.
Momoa played the part of Khal Drogo in the first season of 'Game of Thrones' and had the starring role in 2011 film 'Conan the Barbarian'.
'Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice' is scheduled for worldwide release on May 6 2016.
