WZ has learned from WWE sources that a segment was apparently pitched to Stone Cold Steve Austin and CM Punk for WrestleMania 30.

The segment was based around its ending, which would have seen Austin giving Punk a stunner, to set up a match at WrestleMania 31. There has been no word on whether or not either man agreed to the angle, and we reported earlier today that Punk was still in Chicago as of last night.

We're also hearing many in WWE are under the impression The Rock will be flying in to New Orleans on Sunday to be featured in a segment at WrestleMania.

Wait. You're telling me that I accidentally predicted something?

Although that would be something I'd love to see.

That means A. Punk would have to sign a new contract for the match to happen and B. That match would HAVE to main event the show.

I don't think it'd HAVE to main event the show anymore than Taker/Lesnar should.

Punk wants to main event Mania. If that match gets made and it's in the middle of the show, it's just going to piss him off again

Lol Rock & Austin appearing at WM & the people who don't look at the dirtsheets (WWE's core audience) probably don't even know. This is the poorest planned/hyped WM in recent memory. These two could have brought in some buys for them, if it was advertised right.
