PWInsider.com is reporting that if TNA is able to lock down dates for recording in New York in the coming months, it will be in the upstairs Grand Ballroom section of the Manhattan Center, not in the Hammerstein Ballroom itself. The plan would likely be to tape several sets of Impact Wrestling episodes within just a few days, much like they have been doing with the taping events in Orlando, and prior to that on the UK Tour. There may be talk of a potential One Night Only PPV taping while they have the venue, but nothing is set in stone quite yet.

This is an interesting decision, as the Grand Ballroom – where the first episodes of Monday Night Raw were taped – is notably smaller than the Hammerstein, which ECW used for a number of years. It may come down to which venue is cheaper to run, but TNA may also be legitimately concerned with whether or not they can sell-out the slightly larger Hammerstein. It's worth noting that Ring of Honor was able to sell-out their co-produced event with New Japan Pro Wrestling rather quickly.

ROH does very well running shows in the Ballroom.

I was going to come into this tread and say if TNA couldn't match ROH in attendance that they would look so stupid Funny

From what I've read, the New York area gives them some of their higher attendances for their live events...of course TNA has never decided to actually capitalise on that for TV <_<
