The problem with the original Sin Cara (Mistico) at the Juan de la Barrera Gym show last week is that WWE doesn't want him to appear on TV for another promotion due to his 90 day non-compete clause. WWE doesn't care if he works independent shows, but he can't appear on TV until the clause expires.

Mistico claims that after May he will be able to use the Sin Cara name on TV. He says his lawyers are still working on it as part of his deal. WWE is currently using the name and own the intellectual property rights to it.

Because someone else is using that name.

Because once you leave Mexico, unless you copyrighted your own name/gimmick, it stays with the company you left and the gimmick is replaced with someone else. It's pretty much like how whenever someone leaves WWE, if their name is copyrighted by the company they have to go by something different in another company, unless its their real name. An example is the original La Parka...once he went back to Mexico he had to change to LA Park because there was already a 2nd La Parka.

No. The original Sin Cara is the original Mistico. Hunico was only Sin Cara #2 when #1 was suspended.

No I read somewhere he was the first Mistico before the 1st Sin Cara became Mistico. He even said it in a Interview. It was in the early 2000's

It may of been a different gimmick, because once CMLL won the rights to the name he had to change it. Either way, the recognized original Mistico is the original Sin Cara. Sadly there is no Mistico III

Hunico did work under the name "Mistico" in Mexico, but had to change it to "Mystico" or "Mistico de Juarez" because CMLL (where the Mistico that we know worked) won the rights to the name, even though it's believed that Hunico used it first.
