After an in-ring segment in which Jared Jerusalem angrily cursed out many people, the show cuts to the backstage area. In the studio of none other than… Mike Lamar. The fans give absolutely no response to him, possibly breaking his heart as he keeps a big smile on.
Mike Lamar:
“Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome my guests at this time… Maddox Paine and Eric Badman.”
The fans instantly go into a loud mixed reaction as the huge Maddox Paine and the sneaky Eric Badman appear on screen. Boos and cheers. Neither of these men have pandered to them, but some are just fans of the actions of Maddox Paine.
Mike Lamar:
“Fellas. For the last two –“
Maddox Paine:
“I thought we were getting interviewed by Brian Johnson…”
Maddox cuts Lamar off and turns towards his manager, Eric Badman.
Eric Badman:
“Apparently not.”
Mike pretends he didn’t hear that.
Mike Lamar:
“Fellas… for the last two weeks, Maddox has been on the receiving end of consistent losses, anything you have to say to that?”
Maddox looks at him with a stare of intimidation. He looks about ready to pry his head off.
Eric Badman:
“My client Maddox Paine does not need to answer that. But I will do it for him. You see, the last two weeks have simply been inconsistent. Two weeks ago, Robert Hope robbed him of a victory by having his gargantuan Satanic church leader of a manager interfere. That wasn’t a loss. Last week, Luis Claudio and his little group…”
Eric suddenly pauses and turns his attention to Maddox.
Eric Badman:
“I’m still waiting for those papers to get back to prove that they’re citizens, by the way.”
He says to Paine, on the side. Paine nods his head up and down.
Eric Badman:
“Last week, Luis and his group tried to take Maddox down with cheap tactics. But all it did was teach my client a valuable lesson – never trust a sneaky ‘rata sucia’ – excuse my Spanish – because Maddox went out there to try and have a fair, competitive match, and was simply out-sly’d by the sneaky bastard. Paine would destroy him in a FAIR match and he damn well KNOWS IT!”
Paine looks right into the camera.
Maddox Paine:
“Luis, I know you’re watching. Know that this isn’t over. After I do what I have to do, I’m coming right back for you, you hear me?”
Paine says, directly into the camera with an intimidating look.
Mike Lamar:
“See, that all sounds well and good. But honestly, to me, that just sounds like a bunch of excuses. Fact is, you’ve lost twice. Sure, you won several times before that, but if this streak continues… things don’t look good for you.”
Paine and Badman both look at Lamar with pure anger. Before Maddox goes nuts, his manager and legal advisor jumps in to try and prevent a lawsuit.
Eric Badman:
“EXCUSES? EXCUSES? Really? Why don’t you go and ask Niko Genero or Dante Cross about EXCUSES. You're a pitiful pitiful man, Lamar. Maddox has dominated every single person placed in his path, ranging from Niko Genero, Dante Cross, Greg Samuel, Riley Williamson, Pady Perry etcetera. But oh, get cheated out of a few matches and things suddenly look bleak… you should be ASHAMED of yourself!”
Maddox enjoys the praise received from his manager and relaxes himself.
Eric Badman:
“Nonetheless, we have bigger fish to fry. See, last week, we threw out the challenge to the champion of the group, Dominik Diveraz. We told him that if he wanted to see Paine in action, all he had to do was put up that pretty belt and be a man… but then the idiot goes and loses it!”
Both Paine and Badman shake their heads.
Eric Badman:
“All you had to do was hold on to the title and you lost it! Now we hear about him getting some sort of a rematch at Chain Reaction? That’s crap! But you know what. My client doesn’t care if he has to go through short Mexicans, Brokeback Mountain-themed British Cowboys, or Hitmen named Alex. He will go through whatever it takes without any sort of fear in order to win that world title and establish his dominance over the rest of those measly men on the roster.”
Lamar looks back at him
Mike Lamar:
“Well, some may say that it wouldn’t be fair to see Maddox in the world title match, seeing as he lost last week and the week before. What do you have to say to them?”
Badman smirks.
Eric Badman:
“Ohhh. Everyone’s a critic, aren’t they? But see, they didn’t say that to Maddox’s face. They kept it under cover. Why? Because they know what he’s capable of. And if you don’t believe it, watch when the toughest of the tough takes on yet another one of Dominik’s little ‘amigos’ tonight. Then you will see what he is capable of and THEN you will see that he belongs in that world title picture.”
Mike Lamar:
“Well… fellas, it’s been a pleasure having-”
Badman and Paine walk right past him, Paine runs into him with his shoulder as Lamar is shoved to the side. Both of them walk away as Lamar is left to look on nonchalantly.
