Nick stumbles out of the arena. He grabs his head in pain. Regardless of the fact that he is so near his world title goal, this agonizing pain is getting the best of him… his head aches and he is pain. How did a simple spot like a DDT, which he’s practiced for several times, hurt him this bad? He stumbles onto the ground as a few medics quickly rush to his aid. They pull him up to his feet and call for a stretcher, but he rudely shoves them off and walks away. He limps over to his room and opens the door. For the first time since his debut, the entire room is properly lit. He notices a chair at the end of the small room and he limps towards it. He sits down and relaxes himself. He notices an ice pack on a small wooden table next to him. He reaches over and grabs it. He places it on his head and it begins to relax the pain. All of a sudden, half the lights in the room dim out, the room becomes half-dark. He looks up, barely conscious.

???: “Feels good, doesn’t it?”

Nick Legend: “Seth…”

A figure steps out of the deeper darkness of the room into the middle ground, so he’s somewhat visible, or at least his glowing red eyes are.

Seth Zayvin: “In the flesh, my boy.”

Nick Legend: “What are you doing here, Seth? I thought I told you to go…”

Seth Zayvin: “Well, I heard you had an unfortunate accident. I just had to check it out. You’re welcome for that ice pack, by the way.“

Nick Legend: “Seth… I told you I don’t need you anymore. I took a bump, that’s all. You need to leave.”

The red eyes glow less and less as the man begins to step into the light. He smiles with a happy look as he nears the young superstar.

Seth Zayvin: “Oh dear boy… you don’t know the half of it. I am not leaving. You will not get rid of me so easily. You think you can take what I gave you and then just leave me in the dust? Absolutely not… we are going to win that world title… together. Like it was meant to be.”

Nick Legend: “No… I’m done with you. DONE.”

Seth begins to get very close. For the first time, Nick realizes how he fully looks. A look of complete evil. He gets closer and closer.

Seth Zayvin: “Hahahaha…. You’re wrong boy. In fact, we haven’t even gotten started yet. This is only the BEGINNING.”

Seth laughs evilly as he lunges towards Nick. Nick gives a final scream before he knocks out, unconscious.

----------------------------------------------

He wakes up. He is in a hospital bed, the day before Retaliation. He realizes he’s late, he ignores the tubes connected to him as he steps out of bed.

Nick Legend: “Where am I? How did I get here? What’s the date? Has Retaliation passed?”

Female: “You’re in Emergency Care, and I suggest you sit back down, you’re a bit unstable.”

Nick notices an African American Female Nurse behind him. He completely ignores her and looks back down at himself. He feels… different.

Nurse: “Sir, please sit, now.”

Nick Legend: “We don’t plan on doing that.”

Nick’s voice completely changes. He sounds… almost demonic. He looks at the calendar on the wall. Retaliation is tomorrow.

Nurse: “NOW.”

She lunges at him and grabs his arm, to bring him back. He quickly pulls his arm back and screams.

Nick Legend: “LEAVE US ALONE. OR ELSE!”

And he darts out of the room. He walks quickly down the hall of the hospital. He ignores the many weird looks he gets as he begins to walk out of the hospital. He finds himself outside now. His hair is in a frizzy mess. He remembers where he is and he realizes he has more than enough time to get to Retaliation by tomorrow. He stands outside as he looks around. He feels different, he feels like there’s more than one man inside of him. He calls for a taxi and gets in.

Nick Legend: “What was that? Oh well... No time to worry about that now, I guess.”

-------------------------------------------------

Nick walks into the arena. Retaliation is in 4 hours. He breaks into his locker room, he sits down on his chair, he doesn’t even care what the half-lit, half-dark room looks like.

Nick Legend: “What’s going on with me? Why do I feel… so strange?”

“Don’t you realize… we’re one now, Nick.”

Nick Legend: “Who said that?”

Nick looks around, but it is futile. No one is there. He is alone.

“You said that, Nick.”

He looks in the mirror and realizes he said that out loud, he’s the one talking, except his voice is a lot more sinister.

Nick Legend: “What? What is this? What’s happening to me?”

“It’s us… we’re together like we should be, Nick. Accept it. We’re one now. Like we always have been.”

Nick Legend: “This… can’t be happening. All this time… you were just in my head?”

“A mental guide, Nick. We’re one… and together, we will win this title.”

Nick Legend: “No, get out of my…. AHHH.”

Nick grabs his head and looks down. The voice rushes through his head as he grabs a hold of himself. Suddenly, the door opens.

Worker: “Mr. Legend? Are you ok? Should I call a doctor?”

Nick looks up with an almost evil smile.

Nick Legend: “You do that… and we will have to cut your head off.”

The worker completely ignores his threat. More concerned with his vocabulary.

Worker: “Uhh… who’s we, sir?”

Nick Legend: “WE are a team now. You will not get rid of us, go away. We have a match to get ready for. If you try to ruin it for us, we WILL find you.”

The worker looks at the sinister superstar, who sits on his chair crouched down but with his head up. His eyes… are almost glowing red. He steps outside the room, shocked. He slams the door shut, leaving the evil superstar to himself. He turns and begins to run. He needs to tell Smoke Xtreme, the COO of XWA!

Danny Diamond Blog - #2

It's been two weeks since the brutal attack on Kandi. I still don't know who was behind it. I'm searching, though, and believe me when I say this - I will find you. My son is safe, for the time being. Him and Skye are staying at a location I cannot disclose. If you even think about touching either of them, I swear the things Mirage did in the past will pale in comparison to what I do to you. I need to focus, though. I've got a match coming up in just a couple of days against Nick Legend. This is a big match. The main event of Retaliation. I don't have time to worry about some psychopath trying to come at my family. I'll find him, later. For now, Nick Legend...

Nicky, I don't know what's going on with you. You're certainly a strange person. Of course, I'm used to the strange by now. In fact, I'm a master of the strange. But you...There's certainly something off about you. It doesn't matter to me, because in the end, I'm going to be the one victorious with my hands held high. My life has been hell these past few months. Trying to deal with my father passing, my son being born into a World where some savage is coming after us, Kandi's injuries - it's all been too much. Then again, too much is never enough for me. I like things chaotic. It's who I am. It's always been me.

My life is a complicated one. I am a complicated person. I don't know what this Nick guy's deal is. I don't know what kind of demons he's fighting. All I know is we're wrestlers. It's what we do. No matter what shit goes on in our personal lives, at the end of the day we fight for a living. And when it comes down to wrestling, I'm the best at it. I've put on some weight, lately. Mostly muscle. I've been in the gym non-stop, trying to get myself into the best damn shape I've ever been in, which I've done successfully. All of this to be crowned the best of Revenge. Is it really worth it? Is putting my personal problems to the side - the safety and well-being of my family - worth being the best? Maybe it isn't. But it's what I do.

I've grown accustomed to it. To being the best. It's a moniker I've earned and one I've worked my arse off to retain. I've put my body and my mind on the line, time and time again...Just to be the best. I've earned it. And I damn sure ain't about to lose my moniker to some freak with an identity crisis. "We are a team," he says. I don't know who we is, but I do know that you can trust nobody in this business. Whether that person is your partner on the outside or an entity that lies within. I know this from experience. I don't know exactly what you're dealing with, Nick, but I do know it's not good for you.

Mirage is gone. Kandi's in the hospital. My son and his mother are in hiding. My father is dead. What a couple of months. Heh. No matter what shit the World throws at me, I've proven time and time again that I can take it and throw it back harder. I don't know if my priorities are quite set straight, being as though I'm putting my job before my life. Then again, my job is my life. Wrestling is my life. I love it and it loves me. I'm the best damn wrestler to ever lace up a pair of boots and the sport thanks me for that. It rewards me with Championships aplenty and, now, the title of Best on Revenge. It's all about being the best, after all. At the end of the day, that's what matters the most...

A wise man once said to be the man, you've got to beat the man. Beat me, Nicky, and you'll be the man. Lose and you'll be just another victim. All hail Danny Diamond.
