John Cena suffered a left knee injury on this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw. The injury occurred while working with The Wyatt Family on a spot with Erick Rowan. Rowan lifted Cena on a takedown and as soon as it happened, a ringside medic checked on Cena. Cena grabbed his knee and went to the apron but waved off further medical attention. He got back up with the help of the ropes, visibly limping, and sold a clothesline from Bray Wyatt.

When the show came back from commercial, Cena was being loaded on a stretcher and wheeled to the back. A camera shot appeared to show swelling in Cena’s knee. On commentary, Jerry Lawler shifted the discussion to Cena’s knee and JBL questioned his status for Wrestlemania XXX. That’s a valid question but no one wants to ask at this point.

That sucks. Hopefully it isn't too bad.

That's not good. Though Cena's a great worker. Wouldn't be surprised to see him work through it.

 

UPDATE: WWE gave a further injury update on John Cena’s left knee on the premiere episode of Backstage Pass on the WWE Network. They went back and rolled footage from Raw after the injury occurred where Cena told Dr. Chris Amann he couldn’t put weight on the knee.

In an interview on Backstage Pass, Amann said that Cena was “refusing an MRI” but had been taken to a local medical facility for further evaluation.
