There was a recent article posted by CableFax.com, focusing on the WWE App details behind how it operates. WWE's VP & Editorial Director of Digital and Print Rob Bernstein contributed to the story, providing quotes and facts.

WWE has ten people who are responsible for the WWE app every Monday during Raw. That includes writers, a producer, a camera guy, a talent wranger and full technical support.

After each show, social chatter is analyzed to find out what fans thought of it. A full report of that data goes out on Tuesday and is then used in Creative meetings for the upcoming week.

Bernstein added that WWE wants fans to be able to "bend the story", which is done through polling during the show. It gives fans a level of control.

so the app has its own set of writers?

I guess so. To write the polls and whatnot.

I was under the impression those positions dealt mostly with the backstage segments the app airs, though I don't have a smart phone so I'm only guessing.
