Report: Ravens have no plans to claim Ed Reed
Profootballtalk reports the Ravens have no plans to claim Ed Reed off waivers.
It's hardly surprising, as the Ravens had no interest in re-signing Reed after he hit the open market last offseason. Per ESPN Boston, any claiming team would be on the hook for $412,000, plus $62,500 for each game Reed is active. That's a prohibitive sum of money for a player whose play has fallen off the face of the planet. Reed should find a new home, but it likely won't be on his current contract. He'll officially become a free agent on Wednesday.
