04/09/22 - Smackdown Live trades Miro [w/Lana] and Mandy Rose to WCW for Wade Barrett, Kris Statlander, and Allie.

Segment 1: (pre-tape) Jim Cornette explains that he'll be the match-maker of Smackdown, but will work from home. Adam Pearce is his right-hand man and will speak on his behalf at the shows. Why is he back? He still hates Vince Russo. He explains the championship situation, including the introduction of the "Poison" Championship. The match to crown the first "Poison Champion" is next.

Match 1: Zack Ryder d. Buff Bagwell
Finish: Small Package.
Important Notes: Judy Bagwell is pissed.

Segment 2: The Rock, backstage, insults Zack Ryder, Buff Bagwell, he comes across Heath Slater and Bo Dallas, who are established as an act in this segment. Heath plays air-guitar with his phone on, pretending to make the noises with his hands. Bo doesn't get it and thinks he's magic. The Rock insults them. Bo takes it personally and challenges The Rock.

Segment 2: Awesome Kong and Raisha Saeed attack Becky Lynch in the back. Adam Pearce can't clear her to wrestle tonight. Kong will wrestle an opponent of his choosing, but Jim Cornette will make the decision on how to deal with this next week.


Match 1: Sasha Banks d. Natalya Neidhart
Finish: Banks Statement.
Important Notes: The Women's Title Tournament bracket is shown. Banks will take on the winner of Kong/??? and Nikki Bella and Alexa Bliss face each other in the second round.


Segment 3A: Short backstage promo with Cathy Kelly with Bill Alfonso on behalf of Rob Van Dam.

Important Notes: After the match Orton punts Cabana. The Rock runs down for the save, but Orton bails.


Segment 5A: Peyton Royce, Alicia Fox, and The Bunny are in Adam Pearce's office to tell him they don't want to face Kong tonight. Kris Statlander, does want to, but Pearce lets them all know he's decided on another opponent.

Segment 5B: Raisha Saeed talks with Quinn McKay backstage. "Smackdown Live is the land of KONG."


Match 6: Awesome Kong d. Nixon Newell
Finish: Awesome Bomb
Important Notes: Nixon has a very strong showing. After the match she's attacked by Kong and Saeed. Statlander runs down for the save but is crushed as well.


Segment 6: Batista is pissed he hasn't been on the show yet and is taking things into his own hands. He picks a planted fan out of the crowd and beats the piss out of them. Hits a Batista Bomb and counts the pin himself. He signals to the crowd that it makes him 1-0.


Match 7: The Brass Ring Club d. The Inner City Machine Guns
Finish: Cesaro catches Ricochet with a Neutralizer
Important Notes: LAX interfere during and after the match. After the match, the remaining teams from the tournament hit the ring and chaos ensues. For some reason, Kong also comes down to the ring to attack Natalya. It's bedlam as the show goes off the air.
