Making the Jets Great Again Rebuild Empty
PostSubject: Making the Jets Great Again Rebuild   Making the Jets Great Again Rebuild EmptySat Oct 03, 2020 2:57 pm

Season one was a success at 5-11 Thirsty Mofos Time to rebuild this crap YO

2020 season stats & record:

Spoiler:

A little backstory on the QB situation. Darnold was benched in Week 10 after throwing 2 Pick 6's and 3 INT's as a whole with a fumble as well. Ugly ass game. Flacco came in and played pretty well. Next week was the bye & big controversy on who would start for the Jets in Week 12. Darnold was given another chance to try to show he's the future of the Jets in a rematch vs. this same Dolphins team. Again started out ugly with 3 INT's, but two great drives leading to two TD's (one Bell rushing TD, one Herndon TD to tie it at 17-17) put them in a position to win & Darnold to keep his job. Dolphins drive down to take a 20-17 lead. Darnold has to run the 2 minute drill to bring the team back for a tie or win in regulation. Darnold drives the Jets down the field, in the final seconds inside the 10, Darnold throws his 4th INT of the game in the redzone, swiftly ending the Jets comeback attempt and his career on the Jets as the starting QB... Crying or Very sad

Flacco lost most of the games as the starter, combining with Darnold to finish the season at 5-11 (after a 4-1 start). Going into the 2021 season, the future at QB on the New York Jets is totally up in the air.....

Man oh man... 1-3 start to this season. 0-2 start, pretty rough losses. The Jets then destroyed the 2-0 Bengals & gave a great showing vs. the Ravens despite some costly INT's from Lawrence. Down 10 with about ~3:00 left in the game, Lawrence launched a deep 55 yard TD to Jaylen Waddle down the middle of the field into the endzone. Down 3 with :50 and no timeouts, Lawrence drives down the field again but some poor clock management causes the time to run out while the team was in decent FG range. After a big completion, Lawrence ran the hurry up offense as the clock ticked down. Should've spiked the ball or thrown the ball out immediately and taken the FG to tie the game but instead he tried to get a couple more yards on the sideline and the clock ran out before the play even completed #FeelTheBern

This team will turn it around tho Oh the DRAMA

Jets win the QB war YO Massive 56-38 explosion in Week 6

Not gonna show the full stats here but the QB battle:

Trevor Lawrence: 21/24 400 yards 6 TD 0 INT
vs.
Sam Darnold: 30/52 372 yards 3 TD 0 INT

Lawrence showed out and showed the NYJ went with the right guy YO But Darnold's a baller too Thirsty Mofos

Also, Mariota: 2/3 56 yards 1 TD (happy)

The Jets sitting at 8-5 now and Lawrence is BALLIN OUT YO

He went from more of a game manager his rookie year, to being the MAN on the team (and the league just about) in Year 2 Thirsty Mofos

Week 14 he just DUELED Aaron Rodgers and came out victorious. A bit of a passing of the torch moment in a huge OT win. Lawrence tied the game towards the end of regulation, Packers got ball first in OT & drove down the field for a FG & Lawrence drove the Jets down again for the game winning TD (ending in a Lev Bell 2 yard rushing TD) clap

Full season stats so far:

Spoiler:

Currently leading the division. Jets 8-5, Patriots 6-7... Next on the schedule is the 9-4 Chiefs tho panic

Going into Week 17, we have the playoffs locked up at 9-6 (division win). Pats are 7-8 for 2nd in the division.

We have the 10-5 Colts in Week 17 who lead the AFC South. A win would get us up to the 3 seed.

It's looking like the 5 seed will be the currently 10-5 Bengals who we do not mind playing if need be (destroyed them 37-17 in the regular season). The plan for now is to play the starters for the 1st half and potentially rest guys in the 2nd half. good job

We win the final game of the season YO Up 13-7 after halftime & getting the ball after the half, Lawrence and the starters were allowed one more drive to try to make it a 2-score game before the backups came in. Very nice TD drive, Lawrence gets to 5000+ pass yards on the season and Guice breaks out another big run or two to close out STRONG seasons from both of them. Drive ends in a Lawrence-to-Alie-Cox TD & a successful 2 pt conversion to make it a 21-7 game. Backups didn't do much in the 2nd half. Final score: 24-18 win.

Jaylen Waddle with an incredible sophomore season. The Lawrence-Waddle connection is REAL. Full season stats:

It was a nice run but it's over in the AFCCG vs. the 13-3 Browns #FeelTheBern

Divisional round & AFCCG were both played in snow storms. Tough atmosphere. Collapsed in the AFCCG down 31-7. Nearly made an insane comeback but just not enough. Didn't get the onside kick recovery with :37 left in the game (2 timeouts left btw). Could've had a chance.

Pro Bowlers tho:

RB Derrius Guice
WR Jaylen Waddle
TE Mo Alie-Cox
LE J.J. Watt

The Jets clown Speaking of Tua, we just whooped the Tua-led Dolphins 2 weeks ago (happy)

Also, idk about James Robinson. I aint bothered He's starting to lose work to Trey Sanders who has been a lot more effective as a runner. Got a bit of a 3 back committee going this season YO

Lawrence has started out this season as a turnover machine but he's also making plays to win games for us. Sitting at 7-0 actually... first season we're dominating without a sweat. A lot of different guys are getting involved. Guice has remained a stud every season he's been with the team. Mims FINALLY had a breakout game but then went straight back to irrelevance once Shenault debuted/returned from injury. So far Mims is having his best season as a Jet nonetheless & Lawrence will likely continue to spread the ball around. Plenty of weapons. Waddle is down quite a bit from last year but still having a good year & without a doubt the receiving leader on the squad Thirsty Mofos
