I don't watch Raw very much, but DAMN that was a great promo. I know its a work, but I do think there's a bit of real animosity between those two.

I don't think there is any animosity, Cena does "shoot" promos often these days (recently w/ Miz & AJ too). Makes you want to see the match even more. However, it's clear that these people read the Internet.

It's not a shoot, it's a work that builds off reality, which is what wrestling should do.

Like I said, I know its a work. But I do feel like Cena legit got under his skin.

Tbf, I don't think there are too many people that can hang w/ Cena on the mic when he's on. It's remarkable how effortlessly he can just run through people. I remember that one time a couple of years back where he even left The Rock of all people standing in the ring like

True. Although there aren't that many great mic workers in WWE these days (At least not many on Cena's level). The Miz is one of the few who can go back and forth with Cena.

I don't know how this is possibly going to help Roman, but I look forward to hearing how they thought it would help after it's failed miserably.

I just watched it on YT. The videos cuts off just as Anderson and Gallows are coming out, so I don't know what happened with them. Probably nothing good. But the Cena/Reigns back and forth was great. I do agree with Ian that I'm not sure how this could help Reigns. If they would finally turn him fucking heel, maybe, but we know they won't do that after all the huge chances they had to do so. But, still, in the moment, it was a great promo.

Did anyone else see Reigns forget his lines in the middle of his promo?

I wasn't saying you need to use it. You said it's not a shoot, though. I was pointing out that it is a type of shoot.

To me a worked shoot is when wrestlers use insider terms, real names or other stupid shit to make a promo seem real. Vince Russo did this a lot in WCW and TNA. I can't see the promo so I don't know if it falls into that.

Terms like "buried" & "heel turn" were used.

And the problem w/ Russo's stuff is that he did shit like this every week in like every segment, which is garbage. It can be very compelling TV if it's done every once an awhile.

Man, but the biggest takeaway from all of this is why is WWE doing this match at one of their shitty B level PPVs? This is better build than the ones they do for WrestleMania.

Cena told Reigns he needs to learn how to do a promo, as well as what Drachen said. It was basically inside terms for the entirety of the promo.

honestly I didn't see anything special about the promo. I know people are going nutso over it and even comparing it or saying it was better than Punk's pipebomb. It didn't feel like that much of a work shoot, just them both saying what has been said by smarks, Cena tho was saying it better.

honestly the best parts of their promos is when they were talking like actual wrestlers and not using fourth wall breaking terms. I cringe when wrestlers do that shit.

what they should have done in the tag team match was whenever one of them was going for a hot tag, the other would just jump off the apron and smirk at the other as Karl and Luke hit them with a magic killer. Then follow it up next week with Karl and Luke attacking the one that jump off the apron after a match. The music of the other comes on, but instead of making the save they just watch Karl and Luke continue to beat the other down.
