My friend and I went to WWE Live today. Since Clash of Champions is tonight, it was during the day, and it was the Smackdown crew. We were along the ramp, on the right side looking toward the ring.

Match 1: Ziggler beat Miz in a non-title match
             -Miz did a lot of chicken-shit antics, it was funny
             -Maryse got ejected after slapping Dolph a few times

Match 2: Baron Corbin def. Jack Swagger
             -Swagger was really over for some reason
             -I took multiple pictures of myself flipping Baron off

Match 3: Hype Bros def. The Ascension
             -"Zack save us everyone else in this match sucks!" -Me
             -Konnor is apparently from Michigan, so they talked shit about football to get some cheap heat
             -I liked the finish to this. Ryder did a sunset flip to Viktor, but Konnor grabbed him and held on until Mojo speared him away. It was well done.

Match 4: Heath/Rhyno (c) def. Usos/Breezango/American Alpha
             -It looked like Rhyno was basically calling the match himself
             -Jason Jordan went out of his way to high-five a lot of people before the match
             -The Usos are really good heels

Intermission
             -I went to pee and I definitely saw James Ellsworth on my way there
             -They did a trivia show thing about Vince's limo exploding in 2007. I was like "I remember that!"

Match 5: Apollo Crews def. Erick Rowan by DQ when Bray interfered
             -Kane came out for the save
             -We started chanting "Husky Harris" at Bray at one point
             -People were making fun of Rowan's beard for some reason

Match 6: Becky/Nikki/Naomi def. Carmella/Natalya/Alexa
             -Becky is a goddess, and really charismatic, she was great at getting everyone into the match
             -Nikki is a lesser goddess
             -Alexa's REALLY short
             -Carmella was scared to start the match with Nikki so we chanted "chicken" at her the whole match

Match 7: AJ(c) def. Cena/Dean
             -AJ is shorter than I thought he was too
             -Nobody seemed to question why the PPV main event was happening at a house show.
             -The first 5 minutes of the match were Cena and Dean taking turns beating the crap out of AJ
             -It was a triple threat so AJ used a chair to win


It was good, I had fun.

Seriously? You guys don't remember that guy dying/killing his family around that time? That's why Vince staged his death, to get the attention off of that other guy.

Real talk... That limo exploding angle followed by Vince just suddenly appearing on Smackdown(?) to make the announcement about the other guy's death has to be one of WWE's most embarrassing moments. Maintaining the illusion that wrestling isn't staged/scripted was just thrown out the window.

It's a "just kidding I'm actually still alive but seriously tho this guy died" moment. Happens all the time.

Nah that's fine though. I think wrestling should kind of embrace being staged and scripted more than making it like a sport. The Attitude Era is the perfect example of that.

The limo thing is just weird because they had that storyline (random to begin with), Vince then appeared and suddenly ended it, and then they went on like it never happened and right back to the illusion of not being staged.

And I'm not blaming them either, it's just an embarrassing instance of that circumstance which is awkward to think back on.

Well no, after Benoit happened they continued the limo exploding angle by having Vince say he faked his death to collect life insurance, and it led directly to the "Hornswoggle is Vince's son" angle cause Shane and Steph called BS.

I remember the Hornswoggle thing coming after this but not that he faked his death to collect life insurance. Wow. But still on the SD where Vince just appeared and they switched off all kayfabe was pretty weird.

If you legit thought that you would have been watching TNA a few years ago

I did watch TNA a little bit like 6 or so years ago.

I agree though. Wrestling shouldn't be treated as a legit sport. I like the way WWE is right now.


Also, I went to SD last Sunday and the card and what happened on it was very similar. including AJ beating Dean and Cena by using a chair.
