One bout is already completed for tonight as John Hudson faced off against Rellim in a King of Xtreme bout. With the first match of the second round completed it is time to continue as the show comes back from commercial break to the announce booth duo of Adam Dennis and Ted Cedar.
Adam: So far we are off to a good start folks, but up next we are scheduled to a bout between newcomer Whisper and the veteran Axel Anvil. I don’t know about you Ted, but if I was Axel I would be very disappointed after losing to Dante two weeks ago which might be why he has disappeared from us last week.
Ted: You may be right Adam, but at the same time the way the crowd has come to seemingly gain some respect for him aside of all his antics, you have to wonder what is really going on with him.
Before Adam can let out a smart alecked reply the sounds of ‘Monster’ by Skillet start to blare over the speakers as the raucous crowd springs to life with mixed reactions to the arrival of ‘The Epitome of Excellence’ riding out on his patented motorcycle. Stopping atop the ramp Anvil looks out at the fans before lifting his feet back up and charging down at the ring. With precision he turns about the ring and proceeds to park it at the bottom of the entrance ramp facing up it. The veteran gets off the cycle and looks to some of the close fans in attendance and noticies a home made sign insulting him. Laughing at the fan Anvil turns about and walks to the ring before stepping upon the apron with his long legs. Using his height he climbs over the ropes and into the ring settling himself in comfortably. A stage hand goes over and meets him on the other side of the ropes handing him a microphone as the crowd continues mixed cheers towards the giant.
Adam: All those who are booing Axel I wonder if they would speak their mind to him if they happened to run across him in an alleyway.
As the crowd starts to die down Anvil raises the microphone up to his lips and prepares to speak.
Anvil: Ok, so let’s get down to business. We all saw two weeks ago that Dante Cross was the better man, of which I can’t dispute the results. Disappointment reigns supreme that I was forced to submit, something I rarely if ever do. Dante, you truly showed I went in and wasn’t focused properly. I sat in the back after the show was over and forced myself to think on things and many different thoughts went floating through this old head.
A few weeks ago you people were graced by the sight of a true giant in this business of whom even I have to tilt my head up to see eye to eye in Thomas Barnez. I listened to what he said before Jerod debuted and things bounced around in this hollow cavern I call a skull before slinking out. Last week however something he said really hit me hard. Age doesn’t treat the body fairly with the punishment we take. Bones start to grind against one another, muscles don’t flex as solidly and come back to where they normally rest, a person gets worn down and worn out. People need to take a break or they shall be forced to retire. One thing I know I refuse to do until I am more than ready is to retire.
However, Thomas, one thing you said spoke volumes to me. Semi retirement, come out when able and willing for one off matches. We both are decoarated, being a special attraction is nothing anymore with what I have saved up. So after King of Xtreme, I am going to be backing away from full time in ring competition. You will still see me around, I will still fight once in awhile, maybe not here. May be in some armory down the road in Illinois, could be on the beach in California, doesn’t matter but I am not fully done with.
This leads me to King of Xtreme itself, everyone wishes to go out with a bang and I see no bigger bang to go out with than taking out whom is looking to be the true big man once I disappear, E.G. Deal. Now, Deal I know you are in the tournament still, so if you happen to go all the way then do so and I will find someone else to face. Since this is my last hurrah however the person I face shall have to step into my domain. Twisted, demented, painful, no one walks away without some sort of issue after it.
To whomever it is, my match at King of Xtreme shall be a Texas Death Match. To those who don’t know what it is, your opponent must either fall to a pinfall or submission. After that they must stay down for a ten count and be unable to reach their feet. So think of that to all of yall. You may manage to knock me down, heck you may have me down for the three count. Good on you, you pinned me. But can you make me stay down for the ten count after it? I doubt so.
With that behind me, tonight, Whisper, you are a man who has everything before him and so much to lose. You are facing a man with nothing to lose, I suggest you evaluate yourself young man because this is territory you aren’t accustomed to and shall find out fairly quickly. The stakes have been raised, but can you step up to them and conquer it all? Or will you become just another victim to the Darkness Drop?
At that the show cuts to a commercial break with Ted Cedar mentioning this is a side barely seen from Axel Anvil and Whisper better be ready for a battle that he may never have been in before. A graphic then flashes saying that the match shall be NEXT when we return from commercial.
