Raw is still the "flagship" brand and gets the majority of the top, established talent but Smackdown gets the top full-time babyface in Dean Ambrose, Randy Orton, and a bunch of guys with the potential to be elevated. The singles competition will feel unique and different, there is room for great tag team feuds as American Alpha, Gallows and Anderson, and New Day lead the tag team division but other tag teams could form in a pinch. Zack Ryder and Dolph Ziggler could team together. Two monsters like Baron Corbin and Samoa Joe could team together.... and the foundation of their identity moving forward is a woman's division that can be a foundational piece of their programming. Banks/Lynch/Bayley/Asuka lead the way but there isn't anyone devoid of talent on the show. Even Dana Brooke has the potential to be a good performer. It's positioned as the "progressive" brand. Shinsuke Nakamura is ear-marked for Smackdown upon his call-up, and so are The Revival.
Raw's identity is more traditional and meant to appeal to the casual audience. The women's division will return to a more "WWE" type of product but girls like Charlotte, Paige, Nikki, and Nattie will keep them more than afloat in the ring. The Tag Team division will be about Enzo and Cass and not much else, which ain't bad right now, but with their glut of singles talent they could form new tag teams to keep things fresh. With Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, Bray Wyatt, Rusev, Cesaro, and Sami Zayn you have a strong singles every-town touring roster, and you have guys like Cena, Lesnar, and Jericho to make selective dates to keep things feeling special.
