Wade Barrett Leaving WWE This June

Wade Barrett has reportedly given WWE his notice. Barrett’s contract with the company expires in June, and he has told WWE that he would not be re-signing with them. According to ProWrestlingSheet.com, the reason he is leaving is because he is unhappy with his current role in the company.

Barrett signed with WWE in 2006 and made his main roster debut in June of 2010 as the leader of the Nexus. He held the Intercontinental Title five-times during his career and won the King of the Ring in 2015.

This is probably the best thing he could do for himself. He's not getting any younger and WWE has made him look like a joke the past several years.

10 years in the company, possibly as many different gimmicks, yet the creative couldn't find a way to make good use of him. Ok, he's had his injuries, but they dropped the ball on him far more times than they should.

another one of those what could have been, what should have beens, but in the end wwe just fucked up. Back in 2010 me and a friend where betting that Wade would be a three time world or wwe champion by now, being the first british born WWE champions. But with him getting injured so easily, Summerslam 2010 being a big fucking mistakes and Creative having no fucking clue what to do with him...it is just a shame.

I highly doubt he's staying in wrestling. Either MMA or acting.

That sucks. I hope he goes to the indies and makes a name there. Seriously, I feel like becoming a big indy guy or a big NJPW guy is the best way to get over in WWE now. AJ Styles would have never been as big as he is in WWE if it hadn't been for both indies and Japan.

he will probably just move onto Acting. He is too injury prone to do MMA.

I'd love to see him in Ring of Honor or New Japan.

The UK Wrestling scene has been growing so maybe he can make some good money back home.

His style doesnt fit with the ROH style. He'll go into acting before any other wrestling company.

I reckon he will sign a new contract with WWE. Due to the fact he himself hasn't announced it. That's what I think anyways.

I dunno, if he's truly unhappy with the way things have turned out I doubt he stays. He's another one of the guys who had the momentum pulled out from under him when something took off, especially the Bad News gimmick. People started liking that and WWE was like "lol nope".

I would actually attribute where he is now to his growth in TNA. I don't think his staying power in Japan would of been that big had he not had the amount of success that he did with TNA. The way New Japan pushed him helped gain WWEs attention but his overall accomplishments Ima let Dixie Carter have the W on that one lol.

I think he could be a good actor, but I've a feeling he'll very quickly start being typecast as "villain's henchman"

Rumor is he has an offer to be a sports analyst back in the UK.

Oh yeah, I'd happily play the same role over and over if it meant I got to act. If he's happy to do the same, then good for him. If that is the path he goes down, of course.

I'd believe it's true that he'll leave unless he's offered a huge pay rise to stay. Or maybe money wouldn't make a difference to him staying or leaving?
