Happy New Year everyone! Hope 2015 was well to you all and hopefully you all enjoyed some amazing films from the past year. That being said i am going to go over and rank the movies i have seen this year. Some of the choices may surprise you and some of them may make you say "what the f*ck is wrong with you". With all that out of the way, lets get started!

10. Everest

This one didnt have me as hooked as most weather movies would. The action scenes and the acting were well done but i wasnt as interested as i thought i would be.

#9. Poltergeist

This movie was lacking something and it probably was the presence of a little white woman going "CAROL-ANNE! DONT GO INTO THE LIGHT CAROL-ANNE!". It definitely strayed away from the original and could of been it's own standalone entry in the franchise but for some strange reason, they decided to call this a reboot. The 2 best scenes? The little girl being pulled up the stairs and the clown attacking the little boy when the lights were out.

8. Sinister 2

This film really went all out with the creepy home movie aspect and it showed Mr. Boogie as more of the demon they were making him out to be in the first movie.  The eerie music, especially during the church scene where the rats ate through the people on the floor literally gave me chills down my spine. I would recommend this one if you're marathoning horror franchises.

7. Insurgent

I'm usually not a fan of movies based on fantasy novels but i was dragged out to see this and i kinda enjoyed it. Went into it blind based on the fact that i've never seen Divergent but i probably should go back and marathon these before the 3rd movie comes out.

6. Unfriended

When i first saw the trailer for this movie i got extremely excited. It's not every day you see a horror film that takes what happens on Facebook, YouTube and Skype to a whole new level. From cyberbullying to the spirit of a dead girl essentially being a bitch and not leaving a skype group chat, this will leave you on the edge of your seat. Unless if you're in a call then you cant leave cause then you will be dead. Spoopy. I still enjoyed it though.

5. Tomorrowland

This movie was a colossal flop at the box office (probably due to it coming out a few weeks before Jurassic World) and all the review sites were saying to avoid it at all costs. I didnt, however, and enjoyed it in the process. Hugh Laurie is a damn good villain and i feel like they should of made the lead female take a trip on Space Mountain. That probably would of put this movie higher on my list.

4. San Andreas

Who doesnt love disaster movies? More importantly, who doesnt love disaster movies starring The Rock? This was extremely well done and easily one of the best weather movies of all time. The destruction puts movies like 2012 to shame. The San Andreas fault, massive earthquakes and a tsunami to boot? Definitely a decent popcorn movie.

3. Star Wars: The Force Awakens

Forgive me Star Wars nerds, for i have probably sinned for placing this at the number 3 spot on my list. Before i begin, i'm not the biggest Star Wars fan, ill watch the movies and if theyre good ill enjoy them (ive watched them all and enjoyed them all, yes even the prequels. They exist in my mind.)Many people have said this movie sorta feels like a rehased New Hope and i slightly agree with them, except that the way Rey discovers she has the force was different than Luke's.  BB-8 is my new favorite droid, though. I want one...oh and can someone hook me up with Daisy Ridley? Ill pay you in gum.

2. Insidious: Chapter 3

Easily the best horror movie of the year. The scares were executed perfectly and The Man Who Can Not Breathe was a decent demon. I'm still upset this particular episode didnt cover the cliffhanger they left us with at the end of Chapter 2, but this was well done regardless.

1. Jurassic World

My personal movie of the year. Dinosaurs running amuck and eating people is always a good time and i plan on seeing it multiple times throughout all of 2016. It's that good, to me anyway. I do wish they would of shown more than just the old Visitor's Center from the first movie, and i wish they would of shown that at least a little bit longer, but i digress.

I don't have a theater where I live. My list doesn't even have 10 movies and one is a made for TV movie Funny

8. Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip

This was what I was expecting it to be. The only reason I saw it was because a kid I was taking to a theater really wanted to see it.

7. Poltergeist

I got got on Blu-Ray for my yearly marathon of horror films. It's alright, not as good as the original film.

6. 7 Days in Hell

I was just checking out what was playing on HBO at two in the morning. This was quite funny. It was too over the top at several points for me though.

5. The Wedding Ringer

A friend told me I need to check out this film so I rented it and watch it with him. I enjoyed it.

4. Jurassic World

This was a really good movie.

3. Star Wars: The Force Awakens

I didn't think to myself that this was going to be a perfect movie when I saw it at the theater and it wasn't. But it's really good.

2. Get Hard

This was a Will Ferrell movie. This time he's joined by Kevin Heart who's one of my favorite comedians. I probably enjoyed this more than I should have. I found it really funny.

1. Chappie

I loved this movie. It's not perfect but I really enjoyed it.

This kind of stuff is where the movie list I made comes in handy. Thirsty Mofos

I wanted to see Ex Machina but I missed it in theaters and just never got around to watching it. Just remembered about it again right now when making this list but I heard it's a really great movie.

1. Chappie - 9/10 (easily my favorite movie in what was IMO a really weak movie year, at least out of movies I watch)

2. Ted 2 - 8.5/10 (first one was better but still pretty epic)

3. Vacation - 8.5/10 (hilarious; so much better than I expected)

4. Mad Max: Fury Road - 8/10 (it was recommended by someone, very solid movie)

5. Get Hard - 7.5/10 (hilarious but only top 5 because I haven't seen many great movies this year)

6. The Lazarus Effect - 7.5/10 (surprisingly really good; underrated)

7. Daddy's Home - 7/10 (just seen it, maybe some recency bias but pretty funny/good)

8. Inside Out - 7/10 (overrated; my friend said this was almost as good as Toy Story that's the only reason I watched it.. it was still pretty good but not even remotely close to that level)

9. Insidious 3 - 7/10 (good but a big step down from the first 2 IMO; maybe 6.5)

10. Jurassic World - 6.5/10 (meh, disappointing for me but not that bad)

-------

San Andreas - 6.5/10
Unfriended - 6/10
It Follows - 6/10
Demonic - 6/10
Knock Knock - 6/10
Unfinished Business - 6/10
The Night Before - 6/10

Had to list all these cause 6/10 is like exactly mediocre for me and that's what a lot of movies were this year. Funny

10.) Goosebumps
Saw this one in theaters, in 3D. It was your typical family-friendly comedy/horror film. Fun, the 3D was decent and it had some good humor. Plus, I'm a big Jack Black mark. 7/10.

9.) Minions
I saw the first Despicable Me, but never the second one. Watched this one at home, but in 3D, because we have a 3D tv in our living room. I wasn't expecting much from it, but it was actually a pretty good movie. Funny in a cute way and all the such. I'd say 7.5/10.

8.) No Escape
Another one I saw in the movies. The idea of this movie in general is really intriguing. Americans going to another country and then war just breaks the fuck out. It had very little comic relief, but it was pretty damn intense throughout. Another 7.5/10.

7.) The Gift
Jason Bateman can play a fucking amazing asshole. I wasn't sure what to expect heading into this, since all I knew about it was that it was a thriller with Jason Bateman, but it ended up being really good, in my opinion. Some good twists, the acting was on point. It was just good. Probably an 8/10 for me.

6.) Unfriended
This was one I was actually really excited to see, based on the concept alone. As someone who frequently uses Skype, the idea of shit going down in a Skype call was just interesting to me. Like a lot of horror films, it was kinda slow to start, but it picked up and got very good by the end. 8/10.

5.) Jurassic World
Saw this one in 3D in the living room. I was kinda surprised it was only rated PG 13 with some of the brutality it had. I mean, there wasn't a lot of gore or cursing or anything, but some of the shit was just ... brutal. Chris Pratt is, as usual, great and the special effects were incredible. 8.5/10.

4.) Vacation
I actually never saw the original, aside from small bits here and there. I was still excited to see this, though, because it looked funny. It didn't disappoint, to me at least. I do think it progressively got less funny throughout, but the first half was just non-stop hilarity. The second half was still good, but nothing compared to the first half. 8.5/10.

3.) Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension
I don't care what anyone says. I loved the Paranormal Activity series, including the spinoff, and this one was actually my favorite of the bunch. It helps that I saw in the theater, because the surround sound and 3D really helped the experience. Everything came together in this movie so well. I know the series gets shit on after the first one, and this one even got horrible reviews, but I don't give the slightest of fucks. This is my list, damnit. >=[ Another 8.5/10, though closer to being 9. Maybe 8.7/10.

2.) Ant-Man
One of the very few superhero movies that came out recently which starred a superhero I had never heard of before. Didn't expect much heading in and absolutely loved it when it was over. The action was innovative, it was funny. The only problem I had was that the 3D wasn't that great, but it may just be because we watched it in the living room instead of at a theater. Usually only cartoons have great 3D in our living room television. I'd say I'd just put this above the Ghost Dimension, almost even. 8.7/10.

1.) Ted 2
I actually thought this was as good as, maybe even a small bit better than, the first one. One of my most anticipated films of the year and it lived up to the hype, for me. It's just my type of humor. 9/10 to end this list.

There's a shitton of movies from 2015 that I wanna see, but haven't, like Black Mass, Creed, Krampus and the Martian. There'd probably be a bunch of them on this list, had I seen them.
