The free-to-play edition of Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 is available now for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
This entry-level version of the soccer game includes the Exhibition Mode with a choice of seven teams, including Bayern Munich, Juventus, AS Roma, Brazil and France, the full Training section mode, and the myClub feature. The free-to-play edition will "also be compatible with all future gameplay and content updates throughout the entire PES 2016 season", which includes automatic updates to ensure team rosters are up-to-date.
"This version will allow new users to experience PES 2016’s online and offline play," states Konami's press release, "and unlimited access to the myClub mode wherein players use accrued in-game currency and micro-transactions to build a title-winning team."
Last week Konami announced that PES 2016's UEFA Euro DLC will be free to owners of the base game. In our review, we gave PES 2016 a 9.5, stating that: "hand on heart, I can’t remember ever being so consistently thrilled, surprised and delighted by a football game before".
Pro Evolution Soccer 2016 is currently available from the European PlayStation Store for 50 percent off the original price.
