Drake Dysfunction PUSHb6592193583a

Name: Nathan Hanes

In-Ring Name: Drake Dysfunction

Nicknames: "The New Evolution," "The Natural Revolution," "The Giver of Proper Execution," "The Demolitionist," "D-Double," "The Gatekeeper of the XWA"

Resides in: Orlando, Florida

Billed from: Los Angeles, California

Birth date: February 1, 1988 (25)

Weight: 220 pounds

Height: 6'2"

Alignment: Tweener

Gimmick: Drake is compared to Chris Jericho (circa '99). He tends to call himself the "Gatekeeper of the XWA". He's just that conceited even though he hasn't won XWA gold yet (aside from Jericho, who actually became the first-ever Undisputed WWE Champion). Still, Drake's an all-around narcissist in his ability and believes in himself to get the job done, no matter what the odds are.

When/If he fails, he still carries himself highly with that "never die" attitude of Matt Hardy; the "you may knock me down, but I'll always get back up" sort of deal. He can pretty much fit the bill of a Tweener, in that aspect as it is incorporated by that Jericho-esque attitude.

In general, he can be a little bit of a goofball and have fun with the crowd he refers to as "Drake-a-holics" (a play on "Jeric-o-holics", if you couldn't tell already), incorporating that conceited and narcissistic attitude for jocular purposes. However, that "never die" attitude comes into play when it comes to getting serious.

History

Humble Beginnings and Xtreme Wrestling Alliance debut (2007-2010)

Drake Dysfunction was born an raised in Orlando, Florida. While growing up in a place made famous by Disney World, he had come to love wrestling. He would watch it every night with his parents. He would see guys bashing each other in the head with weapons and just beating the hell out of each other just for the enjoyment of the fans watching it. So, Drake joined the wrestling team in high school. He wasn't that good at first, but soon made his way to the top of the ladder, fighting for the state title and for the right to be the best all-around amateur wrestler in his league. Sadly, he came up short and, to make matters worse, was sidelined with an injury sustained in the title match. He was given months to recover, but was ultimately replaced in his wrestling league as he had to move to California to be closer to family.

Time went on and things were going great for Drake. He graduated from high school and wondered what he wanted to do with his life. He had not lost his passion for wrestling. He wanted to be a wrestler, so he attended wrestling school. After learning how to become a professional wrestler, he did some work in the indies to hone his craft. After that, he debuted in a promotion called the Xtreme Wrestling Alliance in 2010. He left the promotion in September of this year due to real life situations and looks to make a return in the near future.

Departure and Wrestling United (2013; 2013-present)

Due to contractual issues, Drake had a short re-debut in the Xtreme Wrestling Alliance. After leaving the Xtreme Wrestling Alliance, he had a tryout with another promotion called the XWA known as Xtreme Wrestling Association. He saw this as an opportunity to re-debut his character to a new crowd and a new atmosphere.

His first match with the promotion was a Fatal 4-Way Match on the pay-per-view pre-show called RAGE!. Drake faced Christopher Kenyon, Alex Madsen and Sean Young, all of whom are former XWA Champions, and the odds were in his favor as he came out the victor in impressive fashion, making a successful XWA debut.

However, his good week would turn bad as he would go into the 49th edition of XWA's Premier Show Vendetta and lose to one of the men he defeated at Rage!: Sean Young. On the biggest Vendetta in XWA History, Vendetta #50, Drake lost AGAIN. This time, it was against the returning Hitman Alex, a man whose accomplishments pretty much had him going into this bout as the favorite. Drake would, however, turn his back-to-back losses into a faint memory as he would pick up a win against XWA Hall of Famer Xtreme Icon! This was a hell of an upset, not only giving him a win, but earning him a shot at Jaylon Brown's Intercontinental Championship at the Cyberslam PPV. The week after becoming the #1 Contender to the XWA Intercontinental Championship, he would face Xtreme Icon again, but with a twist. The Rising Star Division Champion Riley Williamson would be added to the mix, making it a Triple Threat Match. Williamson would show these two up as he made quick work of both of them, earning him the win and the momentum heading into Cyberslam.

Though Drake lost the Triple Threat Match, he vowed he'd make up for it come the PPV. Cyberslam was finally here, and fans were to choose the stipulation for his match against Jaylon Brown. The fans ended up choosing that the title be defended in a Falls Count Anywhere Match, where Drake would go on to be the victor and the NEW XWA Intercontinental Champion! On Vendetta #53, the newly crowned Intercontinental Champion will go one-on-one with Hitman Alex in a non-title bout.

After much time in the Xtreme Wrestling Association, he has lost the Intercontinental Championship to Dominik Diveraz, won it back from him directly after the pay-per-view, becoming a two-time (and CURRENT) XWA Intercontinental Champion. He recently joined up with fellow XWA wrestlers Dante Cross and former rival Hitman Alex to form a smaller, new-company version of the Legion. During his reign as the Intercontinental Champion, he has defended it successfully against Jaylon Brown and is set to defend it against the man they call JHalc.

Return to the Xtreme Wrestling Alliance; Feud with Trace Demon; The Shadow Dragons (2013-present)

Drake Dysfunction made his return to his original home much to the dislike of Trace Demon. He returned to the 51st edition of XWA's premier show Massacre after Trace had done battle with one E.G. Deal. Drake made his intentions known when he stood face-to-face with the World Heavyweight Champion, gesturing that he wanted what he believed should have been his in the first place. "The King of Demons" retorted by simply raising his championship high in the air for Drake and the whole world to see. If it's the world title that Drake wants, he has to go through Trace Demon to get it.

Drake Dysfunction was approached by XWA new debutante Amethyst with a plan to assemble a group of unique individuals. So, with Drake Dysfunction, Amethyst, Tento Shinobu, Loki Sheogorath, Jitoragou, and their mentor Ancalagon, they formed the Shadow Dragons. Not much can be said about them now, but one can assume that they're looking to make history.

Lord of the Ring; Shadow Dragon disillusion?

With the conclusion of the XWA's biggest PPV Legends, a Town Hall meeting took place concerning the state of the company. It was in this meeting that XWA COO Hector Alonzo Perez announced the return of the Lord of the Ring Tournament as well as the return of the Lord of the Ring PPV. Every XWA wrestler was deemed eligible to compete in the Lord of the Ring, as the next edition of Massacre would kick off this famed tournament with a bang. Drake Dysfunction would be placed in a Triple Threat Match, having to find a way to outmatch both Jack Cash and E.G. Deal to advance in the brackets. He would not prevail as one Jack Jackson Jr. would win the entire tournament. However, Jack Jackson Jr. got into an almost-fatal car accident on his way to an XWA show. We now have a vacant ring that needs wearing.

After the controversial Town Hall meeting, Drake Dysfunction was approached by one Victor Forte; a smart businessman if there ever was one. He would offer his services to the Dysfunctional One, taking a keen interest in Drake's talents. Drake would ponder this for the moment. Not only have the Shadow Dragons basically dropped their members one-by-one leaving only him and "The Master of Shadows" Amethyst, but he's desperately seeking ANY alternative to the World Heavyweight Championship. Is Victor Forte the answer to Drake's prayers? If so, what will become of Drake and Amethyst's alliance?

Victor Forte and his goons left the XWA soon after, having no interest in the happenings of the promotion. Meanwhile, the Shadow Dragons would soon disband after Drake and Amethyst would go their separate ways to work on their solo careers as wrestlers.

Whisper's War and the mystery of the Watchtower Initiative

After some time in the Xtreme Wrestling Alliance, a group known now as Whisper's War has substantially made us in the XWA feel their wrath, posing to be one of thee most dominant stables in history. This War, under the leadership of former XWA Commissioner Richard J. Maxwell, has made it their mission to end wrestling as a whole, spreading their influence to not just this company, but to companies abroad. Wrestlers from the abroad companies around the world have revealed themselves to be members of the villainous stable, making their plan simply deemed as 'Phase II' come to fruition. It was during their reign of terror that Drake Dysfunction was approached to join the Watchtower Initiative, where he would aim to fight the villainous stable from where they originated. Not much is known about what the Watchtower Initiative is or even if it'll be of any use against Whisper's War.

Drake Dysfunction Over-easy-o

Dying Wish (The 'Spiral Tap' by AJ Styles, which sees Drake leaping off the top turnbuckle, executing a quick front corkscrew somersault off the top turnbuckle, before landing on the opponent back-first as in a regular senton)
Drake Dysfunction SpiralTap

The Clincher (The Muta Lock/Last Chancery; Horns of Aries. It's dubbed 'Horns of Aries' or the 'Last Chancery' by Austin Aries, who has adopted the move more commonly known as the 'Muta Lock', which was originated by The Great Muta. In this move, we see Drake go backwards, bridging his body and balancing his weight between his feet and head. He then wraps his arm from under the opponent's nearest armpit and across the chest. The maneuver is called the Arm Triangle Choke, but just a Bridging variation of it.)

(Much like Kurt Angle's variation of the 'Ankle Lock', there's two versions to the submission, one being that of Austin Aries and the other being that of The Great Muta. Muta's version of the submissions is the Muta Lock, the inverted Indian deathlock facelock, which first takes the opponent's legs then, bends them at the knees, and crosses them, placing one ankle in the other leg's knee-pit before then turning around so that they are facing away from the opponent and places one of their feet into the triangle created by the opponent's crossed legs. The wrestler then places the opponent's free ankle under their knee-pit and bridges backwards to reach over their head and locks his arms around the opponent's head, which serves as the end-time submission finish for the opponent.)

Version #1

Version #2
Drake Dysfunction OhtaniShinjirovsUltimoDragon-new-1

(Also, let it be known that when he wants to, he'll go inverted with the Muta Lock, turning himself over to where he's resting on his belly and the opponent is in the air. This version of the move is deemed as a deadly finish or ultimate submission finish to the match as it can barely be gotten out of. Usually, the opponent will tap instantly as there is no way out of this version simply called Version #3...unless they're lucky enough to find a way out.)
