As you all know, I love Mariota & Winston. They will both be top 15 QB's in this league in a few seasons, with true star potential as their ceilings.

For #3 QB this year, I've actually decided I like Shawn Mannion a little more than I like Petty & Hundley. Not that I like either of the 3 much but I think Mannion could have some intermediate success. I like him more than he's given credit for basically and I wouldn't mind the Jets taking him after a few rounds.

I love Jaelen Strong. So much value in picking him in the late 1st or in the 2nd.

I love Shaq Thompson. Love Randy Gregory especially now that he's not going early. Both great picks whenever they go.


Dislike Melvin Gordon. Have such a strong feeling that he's going to bust but the only thing is he's being projected to go to teams with really good OL's so I don't think I'll be right about this due to his OL helping him look better than he is. He'll never be a superstar RB in this league though, I can tell. In contrast with the other top RB, I really like Gurley to be a star RB in a few years.

I'm just going to comment on these couple of players for now. I don't know too many players out of the first round or two so I don't have too many strong feelings towards them. Might add more before the draft or probably after seeing what teams players end up on.

Why do you like Gurley and not Gordon

To me it's almost ridiculous that they're considered close to the same level. Gurley is literally an all-around RB... there's not a weakness that I can see. He finds and hits the holes hard, he's powerful, he's quick. He can block, catch, etc. etc... he has size yet he basically can play like a smaller back as well. He's a star in the making and the only reason I feel he's even doubted is his ACL. He'll be way better than Gordon unless he deals with constant injuries in his career.

Gordon just honestly doesn't have me convinced in too many aspects. Honestly he's probably a little bit of the same as Gurley with flashy speed but he's just simply not as good from what I can tell. I don't think his strengths are really strong enough to have a major impact in the NFL.

I said Melvin Gordon is a little of the same as Gurley, Gurley is just better at everything. They both seem like solid all-around RB's, Gurley just clearly looks superior if you ask me... he's so good at everything at a level that surpasses Gordon.

If you want a little bit more detail as to why compared to my last post: He's light on his feet for a big dude, he's so good at staying on his feet and keeping momentum while changing direction / faking out defenders or just running right through them. Like I said he finds and hits the holes quick/hard, better than Gordon does. I SAID I see a little of the same in Melvin Gordon, he's just not as good.

That's not saying Gordon is terrible or even bad by comparison, but if people think he's going to be a star RB or on that same level as Gurley, I have a strong gut feeling Gordon will bust on those expectations.

I am no expert tho. Do you think Gordon is better than Gurley?

In short, Gurley is a little more of a smooth runner while having that ground and pound that I think easily surpasses what Gordon brings in that regard. Gordon isn't necessarily bad in any way but he is not elite and my gut tells me he's going to somewhat bust at the NFL level.

Gordon has a lot of the same strengths: ie a little of the same as Gurley
Those strengths are not on the same level as Gurley's same strengths

By definition, Gurley > Gordon

It's ok if you don't see it... I'm not the expert here. However, I'm pretty confident I will be right regardless.

Although we might not see this right away as Gordon has gotten himself into a much better situation IMO.
