A world where humans never existed looks downright fun in Disney's first trailer for Zootropolis.

The short teaser for the animated movie - known as Zootopia in the US - features Jason Bateman as a friendly fox who explains the film's alternate history of earth.



In this world without humans, animals have evolved to use technology, build cities and, of course, have disagreements among species.

Zootropolis is a collaborative effort from a trio of directors - Tangled's Byron Howard, The Simpsons' Rich Moore and All of Us scribe Jared Bush.

Also lending her voice to Zootropolis is Once Upon a Time actress Ginnifer Goodwin.

Disney will release Zootropolis next spring.
