Rumor has it he will be opting out of his current contract to get the max deal he apparently wants, other rumors are he's going to stay with the Cavs through next year to get the max then. What do you think will happen?

I doubt he stays... I think he'd be more likely to stay if they don't win the championship this year. Otherwise, best case is he wins a championship on more or less the same team that was able to win it without him. Worst case is he continues to struggle to find his role on that team, they don't win it all, and he's making less money than he can elsewhere.

He's GONE. He is not going to stay to be a 3rd offensive option. He's a Los Angeles Laker, just hasn't got the jersey yet.

So you both think the Lakers will pass on Kevin Love, a legitimate #1 option on offense, because they might have to trade one of their players or pick someone else at #2? That's insanity. NBA Free Agency is a seller's market. The Lakers DO NOT have their pick of players. If any top 20 player wants to come to your team and you say no, your team should be retracted.

Although I don't think Love will care about getting his max, he and Okafor are a really good pairing.

However, I don't think Julius Randle is a long-term starter in the first place, and is probably best suited to coming off the bench.

The way i look at it, they should of never traded for him to begin with, because as you clearly see, they made it to the NBA Finals WITHOUT him. This is his only chance to win a championship probably, because with the Lakers, they've been pretty bad for the past few years and he'd be stuck with that all over again.
