TMZ reports that artists Ben and Ray Lai are suing Marvel and Disney. They claim that Marvel stole the design of their “futuristic, armored and weaponized” body suit from their 2001 Radix comic and used it for Iron Man. They say that in 2002, Marvel hired them to work on comics.

The two said that while Iron Man has been around since 1963, the suits were “simple spandex” that had “minimal armor”. In 2008 with the first Iron Man film, they claim the suit Robert Downey Jr wears is identical to theirs. Marvel then used the same pose from their book for the posters of Iron Man 2 and Iron Man 3.
