Director David Ayer has revealed the first official image of Jared Leto as The Joker in Suicide Squad. Take a look at The Killing Joke homage below.

Leto's Joker retains the chalky pigmentation, dark eyeliner, and green hair the character's known for, but features some new tattoos, including a skull-faced Jester, and some iconic Joker imagery -- including a wide smile and long strings of laughter. Additionally, you can see a series of Ace of spades, and ink reminiscent of Joker's chattering-teeth toy on his left hand, and the usual purple glove (albeit a rubber one) on the right.

Common will join Jared Leto's Joker, we learned this week, alongside Will Smith's Deadshot and Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn, with David Ayer directing.

Suicide Squad is currently in production in Toronto and is set to hit theaters on August 5, 2016.

As much as I like it - It looks more like a Joker henchman than the Joker himself, but I trust Leto to pull this shit off lol.

I think the picture just makes it look too perfect. It'll be far better in the actual film.

not going to say yet. I remember how everyone shit on Ledger when they first showed him as the joker and then everyone shit their pants when they saw what he could do as it. I am looking forward to both the movie and what Leto can do as the joker

Like I said somewhere else, I think he looks awesome as a set-up to Joker. I doubt they'll actually make him this way, it's a teaser.
