Gareth Bale has been presented as a Real Madrid player after completing his record-breaking move from Tottenham.
Bale flew to the Spanish capital this morning after Real ended over two months of speculation, gossip and negotiation on Sunday night by announcing they had agreed a deal - thought to be worth €100million - with Spurs for the 24-year-old.
The Wales international successfully passed his medical before signing a six-year contract with the Spanish giants, where he will link up with Cristiano Ronaldo, who in 2009 became the most expensive player in the world when Real signed him from Manchester United for €93million.

After putting pen to paper on his Madrid contract, Bale was officially unveiled to fans at the Bernabeu during a presentation that also saw club president Florentino Perez welcome the forward to the nine-time European champions.
Bale, who will wear the number 11 shirt at Madrid, also spoke to his new supporters, including a message in Spanish where he said: "Hello, it's a dream for me to play for Real Madrid. Thank you for the great welcome. Go Madrid!"

In a country with 27% unemployment a club pays 100 million euros for a football player who's probably not even top 10 in the world?.

People forget that RM had to go to get money out of the Spanish bank to buy Ronaldo.

I just wonder when the gov't is going to start cracking down on those clubs for not paying taxes.

Can we shut up about his wages and focus on Bale as a player. He won't flop in La Liga, maybe he'll flop in the big Classico and possibly against Atleti, but I don't seem him flopping against 10/20 of the league. Levante, Osasuna, Elche, Almeria, Granada, etc.. They won't contain Gareth Bale. Bale is versatile as his final season in England proved. He can fill the CF void if Benzema fails to perform and he can deployed ANYWHERE on the left-hand side. Real Madrid are not signing a superstar, they are signing a versatile young player with bags of proven ability. Players like Cazorla, Mata, Silva, Negredo (he's doing well so far, isn't he?), Michu, Koné, etc, have stepped up from La Liga and thrived in the EPL despite the couple of blips or slow games; Bale is arguably taking a step down for the sake of near-guaranteed glory, higher wages and consistent Champion's League competition. What has Bale got to prove in the EPL? He can't keep carrying Spurs' mediocrity or 'potential' with the high probability that his efforts won't be enough, it's like what Robin Van Persie did last year with Arsenal/Manchester United. And he's actually doing what many 'British' players are criticized for doing and that's moving abroad. Also his trademark celebration has become a hit in Espanol.
