As we noted earlier tonight, AJ Lee responded to Stephanie McMahon’s Tweet thanking Patricia Arquette for comments she made during her Oscar acceptance speech.
In response to what Stephanie Tweeted, former WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee Tweeted the following:
RT @StephMcMahon: Thank You @PattyArquette for having the courage to fight for #WomensRights on such a grand platform. #UseYourVoice

@StephMcMahon Your female wrestlers have record selling merchandise & have starred in the highest rated segment of the show several times,

@StephMcMahon And yet they receive a fraction of the wages & screen time of the majority of the male roster. #UseYourVoice

Stephanie McMahon has responded to AJ’s Tweets by posting the following:
Thank you @WWEAJLee, I appreciate your opinion. #UseYourVoice

It’s wise of WWE to take the high road in this situation, with both Vince McMahon and Stephanie McMahon supporting those who are supporting #GiveDivasAChance. In the end I doubt anything will actually change in the Divas division, and WWE likely hopes this will all just “blow over,” but from a PR perspective, as angry as Vince McMahon probably is with the entire situation, him and Stephanie are publicly reacting appropriately.
